If success was that easy we'd all be doing it

I was into The the when I was a kid but kinda drifted away from them. Just remember one of their albums with a big mashed up face on it.

Nirvana - Polly wants a cacker, whats not to love Two solid choices though. I know many take them both as self indulgent but for me Id say Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour. Love listening to their lyrics. Added to that you would have to include Dylan, Lennon & Kate Bush who all stand out.

Was gutted when the blue star went

Better if it was King Kong tbf. What a let down for a massive world terrifying ape. "Oh, he's fainted.... but look at the size of his cock!"

Yeah I think I mentioned it. The whole thing fucking stinks. How can the government blab on about the revenue it creates when in reality its sucked up by the sponsors. Its like a bad joke. dont even get me started on the shambles that is G4S

Totally agree, said for a while I'm expecting a first team player to be sold and I don't just mean Simpson. We've saved some money offloading players but not enough to cover that lot.

If we swapped Ba for AC it would be disappointing, but I could see it making sense. If that were to happen, we would still be short of a forward and a quality one at that.

Loads of places around my way like. The Derwent walk is about a 10min drive from mine also places like Gibside which is canny for a walk around. A cracking pub that does one of the best sunday dinners I know is the Marquis of Granby, up Lobley Hill and straight over the lights at the top and past the Ravensdean on the left. Its up on the right hand side. I walk a fair bit and the Tyne has some stunning locations. From the quays in wallsend, through the town and along to Haydon Bridge where you have the John Martin trail. Further afield like where Im off on sunday you can park up at Rothbury and do a load of walks around there. Im heading from there up the side of the cheviots to the Scottish border. 12 mile walk all round.

We had Baird, weren't they the loaned ones?

Papers reckons LFC want 20M. Reet, two down. Who is next on the list?
-
What?! I thought this was this thread was exactly for. Is there not a sign on the front? "beware all ye who enter here!".

I've said before and I'll say it again, just my opinion and LM knows this. I think his desire to be right about MA an his different approach (in it failing) is more important than acknowledging anything he ever does well. My stance is always credit where it's due. I couldn't give a fuck about being right or wrong. I think LM is so entrenched in his view he can't support the regime or acknowledge its relative success without being wrong. That leaves him in a no win situation do instead just waits for it to fail (which it will) be it 1,2,5 or 10 years. It will go tits up at some point. It is NUFC afterall.
-
If he doesnt then fine, but we need a forward. If not AC then has to be someone else.
-
Exactly. If it will be used well. Ie dont spend it for the sake of spending it. They kept money back and bought Cisse in Jan. this was massive for us. Keeping money back allows us to react as the squad needs (as per AP). This makes perfect sense to me. Before you reply, the club is self financing, that's why we didn't do both. Fact (FACT) is, their strategy worked. Better than we all expected. Whatever their plan, we finished top 6, got into Europe, stayed in the black financially. Any manager in the league from us down would have loved that.
-
Did we only buy Cisse after selling AC like?
-
I doubt we could have bought who we did without selling AC.
-
So we agree that the club often has a worse finish in the league following European qualification. We agree the club is stronger for selling AC. So far I think and I know you will think is weaker as a team compared to last season, but that must be judged once the window closes. I guess we will agree on that. See, not all bad is it.
-
Yep short replies as I'm watching the match, my kids, and the dog. Short sharp replies it is!
-
Ps, I don't mind the convo's with LM. I know his stance and I think it blinkered, stubborn and short sighted. But his view is consistent and infuriating. Ps nufc 1 nowt up
-
Oh and another thing. Answer yes, or no. Were we stronger for selling AC and buying the players that followed?
-
Oh, and if you think selling AC for 35m when you though it madness to sell him, then bringing him back to play alongside the best forward we have had in a long time while still having 20M change in value that got us Cisse et al would not be a fucking master stroke, then you're mental.
-
Here's a fact for you - when NUfC get in Europe, in most instances we finish in a worse position the next season. With that fact in mind, have we always planned wrong for the next season after we qualifies for Europe?
