London Inter Bank Offered Rate Scandal
JawD replied to Kevin S. Assilleekunt's topic in General Chat
My business was until recently funded by Barclays. the interest of which I paid them was calculated by Libor rates. I would dearly love it if some fucker would win a case against them for incorrect interest charged so I could follow suit -
Oh aye I think most balanced people would see last season as a good one and know that this season is by no means guaranteed based on last seasons results. I also think most wouldn't think Ashley has seen the light as such, it's not that straight forward. But the basic logic that he wouldn't intend to deliberately do bad for the club must prevail. My hope is that he enjoyed last season and wants more of it this. But I'm realistic enough to know he wants the club to fend for itself financially and we're getting in a position slowly to do that. That's why if we are actually aiming to sign all of Anita, De Jong, Debuchy and Douglas I expect someone to leave to help pay for it.

With regards to replacing some of these players with the additional games in mind, Guthrie certainly played and we our 3rd pick in the middle. For him leaving I certainly expect to see someone come in his place. With Lovenkrands and likely Best on the way out, they both really filled our 4th striker spot (with Shola being 3rd). Again I expect one new striker to come in but better than Shola (of course) someone to challenge the Ba/Cisse. If Ba leaves then Id like us to bring in 2. I dont mind losing 3 and bringing in 2 as 4 forwards is enough. Same as if Simpson goes, we need a full back, which we did anyway though. But Id only expect one. It looks like we are trying for a LB I assume to push Santon to RB and then Raylor being backup to both. Could do with another imo. I dont think its about same numbers out = same number in given a lot on the way out were shite and didnt offer the squad anything. I think we'll likely see a smaller squad but higher quality and some of the youger players getting more of a look in. In other words, replacing Best and Lovenkrands would be one new forward better than both and more from one of the bairns. Would still have us in a stronger position than last season.

I remember years ago I started seeing a lass and her Dad was a freemason from the lodge at Wallsend (along from the Metro?), As soon as he know I was in the Air con trade he spoke to a bloke from the lodge who also was to see if he knew me (he did) and was quizzing him about me. My old next door neighbour used to be as well. Pretty harmless, it was all about doing favours for each other.

Best in discussions (again) with Blackburn. I can see this one going ahead like.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

This is the irritating thing when people say he pocketed the cash from the sale of AC. He didnt, it made up part of the business accounts. He then sanctioned the business spending over a period of time supported by that sale. Ie being self financing the business could afford it.
-
I also still expect a first team player to be sold. But it may be that we want replacements in place before we sell after Carrolls sale left us short.

I take a wage. In theory I can whip out as much money as I want, it's up to me. But it's self defeating. If I take too much cash out it is at the detriment of the business. Many business fail as the owner is too greedy and the business has no "fat" for leaner times. Of course MA could take 10M out of the business, but that would be declared in the accounts one way or another. He has also said that the club will be self financing so when you hear people say he has put his hand in his pocket to buy Cisse for example, he hasn't. He just sanctioned the club to spend its own money.
-
It's not his own pocket. Yes it's his club but it's still ran as a business in its own right. I have a business but it's money is separate from my own and when I go for a mortgage the bank looks at my income as well as considering the performance of the business. But it's cash isn't mine.

Those two and a forward for me. Don't think we have enough depth up front. Not quality anyway.
-
Aye Stevie, fuck doing well in the league so long as the numbers all add up eh Tbh I'm surprised even LM can't see a glimmer of hope given how we done last season, the compliments from everyone in football about how the club is ran and with the quality of players we are (admittedly alleged) looking at. Hang on, no I'm not

There's loads. Cost depends on how big the thing is you want covering.

Aye shame like, but then again if you come bottom of the league.
