  1. Honestly JawD, I'm astonished that you are asking me this after I've explained the difference so many times. It is highlighted in post nr 954 - again. This? I was asking about Woodgate etc, just to draw parallels. I know exactly why the other two left. At the time it looked like we were staying still and Liverpool were buying to move on. I dont really have an issue with that. But thats not the point I was making.
  2. Genuinely, if those players had cost £100m Leazes et al, would be placated. there you go again, making things up about others, which you condemn. You really are a tool aren't you ? Just to summarise though, do you confirm that you are happy with this season and are also happy that money has been pocketed and/or withheld from the manager, rather than attempt to do even better ? Happy with this season? Yes. Happy that money was held back to wait for the right player rather than rushing ahead just to spend the money because we had it? Yes. Im happy with the slowly slowly approach rather than spend any penny we have just because we have it. Seems to be working doesnt it?
  3. what is it that I'm supposed to have said ? That splashing big money isnt always the way and that good deals can be found without doing so? and thats its been Newcastles way too often (to throw money at things)
  4. I do aye. Not easily mind, but I think it would be easier to replace Tiote with a like for like than it would be Krul.
  5. I think Krul would be one of the hardest to replace. While I'd not like to see Tiote go, I'd be interested to see who came back in. With Krul, I'd struggle to be positive if he went. My whole problem with the sell and reinvest policy is you can't keep signing well and eventually we'd come unstuck. We gambled on Ba and struck gold. We splashed out on a certain thing and went all in on Owen and it back fired leaving us skint. Who knows what will happen in the summer. I'm convinced we will sell one main player though.
  6. Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, what a fuckin clueless tool LM is A fair question tbf. I couldn't imagine you making this comment now. KK unearthed some gems in his time without breaking the bank. My assumption is that the failings of MA has turned you so far against him/them that it almost have given you a tunnel vision so to speak.
  7. the jokes on you Scotty boy....one day you will wake up and realise what has been nothing but utter delusion. Please tell me, what is the next step of this "progress" or "plan", and how will it be done ? The truth is while getting back into europe is good, it should only be the start. Next step should surely be to sustain it and not let it be a "one off"? If we get into Europe we need a stronger squad to make another push for it next season. That would be my aim. Repeat this year while also having a bash at the EL.
  8. LM, you know no fucker else has a clue what you are on about when you keep banging on about this "rubbish" thing. By all means link it when you say it to at least give us half a chance. As has already been said though. do you think Woodgate or Hamman regretted leaving? Both left to further their career at bigger clubs.
  9. Yeah, NOW he takes a long term view of things. Now that his short term review has proven to be nonsense. first good season in 5 years is "short term" ? Especially when it won't last........ In relative terms, I thought the last season was canny as well. Point, I've enjoyed the last two (well, three tbf) seasons. Thing is LM, while you may not feel it, you do come across like you want us to fail just to prove a point. Out of interest, what do you think will happen next season? For me, I think we will sell a first team player for >£15M that will piss a few people off. I think we'll see a few misc players leave the club (Lovenkrands, Smith etc). I think we'll sign 3-4 players for under £10M (maybe one at £7M and a few sub £5M). I think the squad will be stronger for it. I reckon we'll be top 7 again but it will be tougher as I think Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea will improve as well. Also think Sunderland will do better under a full season of MON. and these tags are fucking me off
  10. Well I said 5 forward as a figure of speech. You said they had gone 3 backwards and 1 or 2 forward suggesting that the club was in a worse position from when they took over. As the club is now in a better position than when they took over, surely they have gone forward now more steps than back? My opinion has always been that Souness destroyed Robsons teams and set us back years. He took us down to 14th after all the work SBR had done and had he remained we would have likely been relegated. Roeder came in and done a commendable job turning around and getting us back to 7th. SA then came in and turned us in to a team of sloggers and back down the table we went. Then MA came in and handled the managerial side appallingly. The KK affair, bringing in JFK, This imo is why we were relegated. But a decent first season back in the prem (12th) and now currently 5th (to finish 4th~6th) shows two solid seasons of improvement with the best side we have had since 03/04. I know you use your crystal ball to look at the next 5 seasons and base your opinion on things as if they were fact, but as you know I look at the here and now and am not even judging next season.
  11. with 25m quid burning a hole in the managers transfer kitty, which is not being given to him ? I don't think so. You should answer all those questions, if you really want to substantiate that absurd claim you are making. Basically, they have moved the goalposts, gone backwards and set up lower forward expectation levels. In a nutshell, that is spot on and time will prove it. They have gone 3 steps backwards, gone 1 or 2 step forwards again but it all stops here. Enjoy it while you can, because they will not build on this by keeping their best players and backing the manager. Which is fine if you want to watch a financially stable club sitting in the premiership without reaching out to stay among the top places, but people who actually go to games and support the club by putting their cash into it tend to have a different priority. I agree they went back 2 steps but surely they have went forward 5? We wernt in Europe when they took over you know? Oh and your line about "people who go to games " etc isn't correct
  12. Already said, around 95% of people did not boo. Thin straw you;re clinging to with this argument LM. I certainly didnt, nor did I when Partizan knocked us out of the qualifiers.... but I'd bet my arse "The Groundsman" did (AKA Leazes) Nor me. Nor anyone around me that I recall. All I can remember is some staying back to clap and I left head bowed a bit pissed off at the game I just watched.
  13. "get promoted" we'll never stay up by selling our best players... "stay up" we'll hover around the bottom if we just sign free transfers like Ba and cheap deals for £5M. "Ba bags a hatful and Tiote/Cabaye are class". "we'll never get in Europe with this spending policy" currently in 5th, one foot in Europe and fighting for a CL place.. "We'll never progress unless we spend big" seriously man
  14. So much to pick apart. Shepherds rule was knows as the days of the circus but while he pissed us off a plenty, we turned a blind eye as we had periods of living the highlife. Why cant people see the similarity in what is happening now? I dont like what he is doing behind the scenes but like the hypocrite I am I will turn a blind eye so long as I m enjoying the football and we are "riding the crest of a wave again". On Pardew, I was wrong. I said that I didnt expect him to do any better than CH. I have the utmost respect for CH but I cannot play down the decision to remove him and add Pardew. Fact is, we're in Europe and fact is to some people hating MA is more important.
  15. i think the only time I wanted a DOF was for Sir Bob to go upstairs near the end of his reign. I dont think he should have been ejected from the club completely. Bringing Wise into the club was a shocking idea. Though I dont think that was MA's idea. I dont know who was advising him at the time but they need their nuts chopping.
  16. That makes me doubt you've ever been to a European away game - to seriously think tickets are limited or anybody who wants one can't get a ticket for any game is fucking laughable. It is also shows you think spending a few quid makes you somehow superior to other people - what a fucking wanker. going to games tells its own story. If you seriously think it has no bearing on knowledge of the club and awareness of what it takes to succeed in football, then you are the wanker. Please explain the difference between booing a team for finishing 5th and wanking yourself to death when they come 5th or 6th years later ? Already said, around 95% of people did not boo. Thin straw you;re clinging to with this argument LM.
  17. Except for the bits that you can't stand by. Like when you said that NUFC would never qualify for Europe through the league as long as Mike Ashley was here. Or when you predicted earlier on this season that a collapse was in the offing. And plenty other stuff that you've got spectacularly wrong, to the extent that you're now shifting the timeline on all of your predictions to a broad rush "I'll be right eventually" If anyone could be bothered, and if there was a remote possibility that it might get you to admit just how wrong you've been, we could fill pages and pages on here with all the stuff that you've got wrong. Of course, you could say this of most people on here - no one gets everything right all the time, and intelligent people can accept when things change. But there's neither need nor point in doing it for anyone else, because no one but you is so idiotically steadfast in trying to claim how right you are, and how you've always been right. You aren't right. You haven't been right. Everybody knows it. And you look an utter shambles of a cunt of a man when you consistently insist that you are. one swallow doesn't make a summer. Fool. You have had chances to reply to my summary of what I have been saying for nearly 5 years and passed them up. Why don't you go to games and back your man with your own cash, rather than constantly acting the knowledgeable supporter on here, when you know fuck all ? Enjoy it man ffs! how the hell you do your best to be so pessimistic? Yes I know, you have seen it before. But most have? We had Europe and lost it before, but damn the ride was good!
  18. haha, nice achievement and a good season, the first in 5 years. Shame you don't answer what I have asked you on numerous occasions concerning the longer term direction of the club, instead being one of the fools who are completely deluded by the short term. Including when I asked you to bet me that we don't match the longer term positions of Spurs, as you appear to agree with those who think we are "doing it like Spurs", or even the old owners for that matter ? I stand by what I say and have said that you have rubbished for years. The club is an advertising outlet for the Sports Company, which comes first and always will. He will sell players if the club don't make operating profits, ie he will not attempt build on the current situation by keeping the best players, adding quality and backing his manager. Why don't you tell us what you disagree with here instead of rubbishing it ? If you really want to make daft childish references to me, having supposedly blocked me, then go the whole hog and reply to all my references to yourself. All you are doing is making yourself look an even bigger tit than you are. How embarrassing you are, and what a shame you have missed all of it through not backing your man by attending games. FWIW, I will be going to see NUFC play away in europe next season, and unfortunately for you the current season ticket holders and club members will - hopefully - get first priority for tickets. Enjoy the short term while your'e alive tbf. What the fuck is the point in worrying about what is happening next season? Did you enjoy the last foray in the CL less because you expected to not qualify in the future?
  19. All but a done deal. Good stuff. Despite the naysayers it's good to see the club lead back to where we believe it belongs. Not saying we deserve champions league and we certainly dont have the squad for it at the moment. But there are a stack of teams under us would love to be in this position. Might as well try for the CL anyway.
  20. As with most things, the better you are the luckier you get.
  21. Been on holiday a week so wasnt taking my turn
