Shearer is the only person to drive this club forward if we want to have some stability. Steve Coppell, Ian Dowie or somebody else with some experience at this level might do a canny job, but as soon as results don't go our way, the board will panic and we can start again, while Sheaer will have the full support of the fans. There was something this morning about him (can't remember if it was an interview) saying he'll be staying if we go down.

I don't expect us to do a Leeds, we're not that much in financial trouble. But we HAVE to bounce back next season, which is difficult enough. I just hope every single player on overpaid contracts will leave and not just sit on them and stay on. Smith, Owen, Geremi, Duff, Viduka, Butt, CoLOLccini etc. -> FUCK OFF. If we can keep the likes of Stevie Taylor, Andy Carroll etc. and Shearer stays on, we have a chance.

I'll suffer more if i didn't watch, wouldn't be able to put it from my mind for a second but wouldn't be able to see exactly what was happening. So i'll be stuck watching it feeling sick the whole time, and my stomach lurching everytime the commentators say they have an update from Sunderland or Hull, no doubt stringing it out, saying before they reveal which way a goal has gone! I won't put my life on the line mate. I couldn't do that. Walking the dog, that's what I'm going to do...
