Pardew has said that both Colo and Cisse are fit and will play. If there's a magical injury that happens between now and then we'll have something to worry about. If he plays and is clearly uninterested that could be the case too. Time will tell.

In the early times, with Allardyce not playing him anywhere near consistently his main weakness was his passing - he'd frequently resort to punting it up field with few other options. I think with Santon he may have questioned how he was playing based on our results and felt he had to change up something to help us win. This clearly wasn't the case but you can understand how that could happen.

Truth be told we needed another striker before Carroll was sold, so technically he was never replaced sincerely.
