  1. Very true, leanne, but we should just keep everything crossed in the hope our own team do the necessary first. Your prophecy could well be interesting though!! Yeah, I doubt we'll manage to do what we need to do, tbh...but if we did then it could get very interesting. And I'm probably being over optimistic-surely even the mackems couldn't be so stupid as to lose to West Brom the week after a crucial win? That really seems more our style.
  2. He was even talking about them "needing a break"...it was such a blatantly stupid thing to say that if I didn't know better, I'd think he was actually showing a sense of humour.
  3. Thinking about it, is it even going to be a sell out? It's not going to look so impressive if there's empty seats everywhere.
  4. My favourite part. What is the woman on?!
  5. I'd forgotten how awkward sunderland's fixtures are. If they were to blow it this weekend, they could easily sink back into trouble.
  6. There's surely more than 1000 fans sitting in the Leazes Corner though, isn't there? Probably won't be my bit, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. Always good to see Graeme Danby though, and he's bound to get the crowd going, especially under the floodlights.
  7. I can't believe I stopped watching at half time...
  8. If you mean, by giving people random ammounts of loyalty points, then the first time my dad used the online box office he had about 25 loyalty points, which were unexplained as he'd never used the online system before. The only possible reason we could think of was that because he'd had a season ticket since he was 21, and that was the clubs way of "rewarding" him, so to speak. I had meant just pulling people out of a hat, so to speak, rather than allocating tickets based on the points system. But I do think there were weird things going on when the online system was put in place too. I'm still pissed that after sitting on my own in level 7 for years at cup games (on the advice of the box office who told us that applying through the season ticket earned us points), my total was about 40 less than I expected when I logged in at the start of the season. When I asked about it they said that cup games had never counted, even though I'd asked about five times and always been told they did
  9. Yeah, mine came up as zero recently (and I've stuck to the three year DD). I can't remember when the loyalty points total was last set at more than zero for an away game anyway-the mackems, maybe? It makes me wonder just how fair they've been over the years with allocating tickets or whether the box office has always just pulled them out at random.
  10. The thought of going to Villa and getting a result that keeps us up...anytime I start to give up, that's the optimistic thought that keeps me going. I can't believe I ever used to complain about boring finishes to the season though. What I'd give right now for a crap, meaningless trip to Watford on the last day.
  11. I saw him at the airport on Monday and he was limping quite badly.
  12. I don't hold out much hope for that, tbh. I've given up on good atmospheres at home games, no matter how important it is. Looking at the table right now, I feel really deflated.
  13. My current most hated players would have to be Lee Cattermole and Wayne Rooney. There's way too many to list if we go back through the years though. And I can't believe no-one has mentioned Graham Fenton yet. It was just one game, but he'll never be off my hate list.
  14. This. At no point have I believed we would ever get maximum points in those games. We've only won four games at home all season and now we're going to win three in a row? Not a chance.
  15. Shite. And a friend just dared to text me complaining at how crap her team (Man U) are....fucking hell.
  16. Halloween (remake) - 3/10. I didn't expect to be impressed, seeing as I love the original and thought this was completely unnecessary...and I wasn't. It was very gory but at no point did it make me tense or scared in any way (very similar to Zombie's previous films, in fact).
  17. It's a one-off. And I'd really rather we had played with that much determination and effort against Bolton and gotten the three points there. What worries me too is that rather than bouncing into the Hull game with confidence, the players now have ten days to lose whatever the match on Wednesday might have given them, and it will just be back to the same old crap.
  18. Rachel Getting Married - 4/10. Can honestly say that if I ever had to spend more than five minutes with any of the characters in that film, I'd be done for grevious bodily harm. I watched to the end because Anne Hathaway put in a very good performance and I was on a long flight with nothing better to do, but it really was painful.
  19. Mouthwatering potential trips to Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Scunthorpe, Walsall, Colchester, Southend... When I say mouthwatering I mean that water you get in your mouth just before you vomit. Have to admit, my heart sank when I saw who was likely to be promoted. That list just gets more depressing the more you look at it...
  20. Exactly what I said when he scored tonight. He's exactly the sort of player we could do with right now. I'm convinced we're going down. Can't see us getting anymore than a point away from home and I don't think we're likely to win all of the crucial home games either. I've already started paying extra attention to who is likely to be relegated/promoted from the Championship this season so I can figure out which away games I'll be going to next year.
  21. Tbf, sounds like they both made a good point! I would have forgiven Taylor a lot had he punched Ronaldo's lights out, mind.
  22. I sit in the Leazes Corner and from there it really did look like Steven Taylor. It was such a Saylor thing to do though-ridiculous chest backs to the keeper are practically his trademark. Still, harsh that on the rare occasion he didn't cost us the goal (and didn't have a bad night overall) he's getting all the blame.
  23. We beat West Brom, Blackburn lost, Stoke lost, Boro lost, and Portsmouth still to play against Liverpool...this could prove to be a big day. I think I can be thanked for this result too. I've missed three away games this season and in those games, we've beaten West Brom, beaten Portsmouth and drawn with Chelsea. If I skive a few more, we might actually stay up!
  24. Don't like the man, but I hope he's ok. Even more worried about our chances today now with Hughton in charge
