  1. French is full of daft expressions, that last bit just means those people who build you are often the ones knocking you down a few days later. Sure you all guessed that. If we dont hear anything on this in the next day or two i reckon we went trying to get a loan and obviously he will choose AC. The only way i can see him coming is if we bid enough money. Not sure a 5m bid will tempt L'OM though and i cant see us bidding much more than that. Unless WB bid enough of course.
  2. I will work on that when i get home. May order one too.
  3. Can The Fish not have 'pimms-drinking shithouse' as his custom title?
  4. If it says "I 'heart' Barry" with a pic of him in the heart, then its a done deal.
  5. I wish everyone would stop giving Barry such a hard time.
  6. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/?action=read&id=220482 Italian blog reckons if its a loan, AC might take him but is more likely to go to 'Albion' if L'OM want to sell him as the teams there have the sort of money required. He reckons that would be 13m euros too. We arent going to bid that.
  7. Apparently Hughton & Calderwood didnt travel back with the team yesterday and L'equipe says the talks are taking place tomorrow at L'OM's training centre.
  8. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2010/...r-ben-arfa.html Representatives from NUFC to go Marseilles for negotiations this week.
  9. are they quite reputable then? I would say they were reputable definitely. Doubt he would choose us anyway even if it is true but if he has been shite and falling out with Deschamps then maybe the asking price isnt that high?
  10. Aye true Ant but its L'equipe not NOTW.
  11. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2010/...-imminente.html L'equipe reckons us and Werder Bremen have submitted an offer and he will choose between the two clubs next week. Hope he comes? Believe the story?
  12. how do you update it - especially after I've changed a folder title ? Not sure it will update anything in iTunes. I just edit everything inside the programme, copy all music into iTunes directly, then set all the tags correctly and put it in a playlist. I was just wondering if you can edit a folder with files in it then does that not mean you have 2 copies of the file? When i download mp3 off a blog, the music goes into my downloads folder. I then copy the music over to iTunes and delete the copy in the download folder. Not sure but that might be why you can see 2 copies of the same tune (unless its just a duplicate you didnt know you had).
  13. I agree Sniffer, the club only benefits in the short term, everyone would be better off without it in the long term. The loan market also reduces the supply of players into the 'sales' market, thus putting upward pressure on transfer fees too.
  14. you ever tried blowing up a double mattress without something like that? Dont be daft, he would get his lass to do it like a normal bloke.
  15. That's this months mortgage payment gone isn't it Not quite although it's more the fact she already thinks I'm a plonky Can I be rude and ask how much? I recently got a bottle from the year I was born (81) at a distillery in scotland. Was toying with the idea of hoying it on ebay.. £45 for the Caol Ila and £37.80 for the Bladnoch plus £10 postage. That's with a discount for forum members (discount varies but I got £20 off the Caol Ila one). That sounds like a lot of money perhaps but it's actually 'cheap' because it's an independent bottling, i.e. Bladnoch bought the Caol Ila cask then bottled it themselves. If you bought something like a 25 y.o. Caol Ila from the distillery itself it would over £100. Definitely. Btw, what are you looking to sell? I might be interested. La Maison du Whisky bottle their own, 44 euros for the 'Peatbull' Not tried it. Was interested in their Gordon & Macphail's range but the prices vary massively. Wasnt sure how to get value out of the purchase, some of them are mad pricey. Was interested in this one, am popping down to the shop tomo so any advice would be appreciated. http://www.whisky.fr/produit-14630-strathi...hail-40-yo.html 40 years old, aged in Sherry butts.
  16. I've been reflecting on this financial crisis / end of capitalism / greek crisis / deficit hawking / public spending slashing issue for a while. I'm convinced that Parky is right about the world. In 2008 the prevailing social and economic narrative was that capitalism was fucked and that the markets had failed. Banks were (and still are) driving economic policy to support their own business needs rather than being a business that supports society's economic needs. What happened to that narrative? Early this year, a crisis of confidence in 'sovereign' debt (over 50% of which in the best cases was attributable to the banking crisis and the recession) was sparked by an organisation called 'Moodys' (how appropriately named) and a vague economic constituency called the 'bond market' (do they have a spokesperson? what did he say?). Then the prevailing economic narrative became that us Europeans (and commie scum elsewhere across the globe) had had decades of being cosseted by our social welfare systems that were basically unaffordable and that we had to accept to work harder, rely less on the state and allow capitalism to sort the problem out. Ever get the feeling you're being ripped off?
  17. Just got 7 tracks off that yesterday Liking it too.
  18. I still believe he is the best attacking player at the club. Think that view will be vindicated this season but am circumspect enough to realise that it might also be proved very wrong. I'm backing him to do well anyway.
  19. So if not that lot, who? More speculation please.
  20. Ranting on about our fans lacking humility on the basis of reading a thread on the internet and then without checking who said what and when doesnt make much sense to me either.
  21. Didnt give that Wolf Parade album much of a listen tbh. On the electronic / techno / post-dubstep side of things, there are some quality tracks on Actress - Splazsh (Lost, Maze, Lets Fly). Wouldnt recommend the whole album unless your a chin-stroking weird electronica fan but the stand-outs are quality.
  22. By high profile ithnk he means people actually give a fuck whether we do well or badly. No one gives a flying fuck about the scouse mackems apart from themselves.
  23. Looked it up on Wikipedia. What the fuck??!!! That sounds so utterly fucked up, its wrong. Get searching on YouTube for the trailer. Tell you what, it's not a film to take any food in with you.... Vomit enducing! Sorry, but @ the taking it all so seriously For you lot its just a bit of fun i guess.
  24. Pobody's Nerfect is the only track i liked on that.
  25. I've listened to it once and enjoyed it. I love the sound of this type of thing but I usually find that they never have a any songs that I can really grab hold of and keep coming back to. I've always found Radio Dept like that and I hoping that I'm going to like their new one more with the good reviews it's had. Broken Bells - Broken Bells Bit like the above actually except I'm really loving The High Road. Heavens on fire. Keep going back to that for the piano. Best track on the new album.
