  1. And this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgniPyIVtx4
  2. To be fair Gemmill, it does sound like something you would say.
  3. Ramsey's Costa del Nightmares on 4 in 10 mins. It's in Capbreton near where we go on holiday every year and our mates' restaurant just along from the 'nightmare' features I think. They said the film crew were in a few times but not sure if it will get on. The chef is a good mate of mine anyway and apparently Ramsay ate there every day and said he was doing a great job. Never been to the featured place, obviously.
  4. So that run went well. Managed to get lost in this massive park, so took my phone out, put data roaming on so I could look at the map. Didn't bother putting it away again so had it in my hand. Running back along a thin pathway next to a dual carriage way, I tripped and did a proper comedy will-he-won't-he fall over ,oh-yes he will (must have done 10 metres in stumble mode) and eventually fell. Of course I tried to not slam my phone into the deck on falling so twisted my hand round and scrapped that along the deck taking all the skin off my knuckle. Realized I was then going to face plant and used my chest as a break as I skidded towards oncoming traffic. As I'd done about 10km I was all dizzy and light headed, couldn't walk until some Spanish bloke who'd seem the comedy scene unfold from his kitchen window came out to offer sympathy and a glass of water. Feel free to take the piss.
  5. I'm in suit and tie, it's not a good look on a Sunday. Was in meetings at 8am this morning too, so much for a day of rest. Going to try and find a park to run around later on but am staying near the airport in Madrid so it's all motorways and business parks.
  6. I love the fact that the most tech savvy person on here is totally ambivalent to Android
  7. I was expecting everyone to be furiously wanking over the new Aphex Twin album.
  8. Fucking hate blackberrys. The change in my life from entering a complex work password to a fingerprint on the iPhone is phenomenal. I think I'm saving about 20 minutes a day.
  9. Downloaded Chef to watch on the road this week. Re-watched Requiem for a Dream and 21 Grams this weekend. Reminded me of how cunted the world was back then. The scene at the end Requiem for a Dream with the double anal dildo is quite something. 21 Grams has held its intensity well and in fact, watching it as a parent made it much more intense and emotional.
  10. The old Stage Door, last time i was in there i was an embarrassment. Falling over whist dancing and all sorts. Years ago now mind.
  11. Its nice that, i got one of their early EPs on Nuphonic. Saw him DJ a few times. Came across this yesterday. Apparently getting a lot of plays.
  12. That's a cracker, one of the lads who made that is a resident at Watergate in Berlin. Me and Parky had a very funny night in there many moons ago.
  13. The UK government appoints the people who run the BoE so to say it has no 'say' on interest rates isn't entirely true. Decision-making is taken through the monetary policy committee which is a political body, in the very British sense.
  14. I was thinking about that but how? They are free to set their own tax rate unless the currency union becomes bound by some specific agreement. In the absence of a specific ruling, Scotland could set their fiscal policy in divergence with the imposes monetary policy. It's another economic risk for them but they could do it.
  15. I think it's a good thing and would be quite happy to see an 'aye' vote (as an aside, doesn't every Scotsman hate the concept of a 'yes' campaign give how it's the definitive difference in our linguistic style?). That said, think the key issue for me is the inability to devalue the currency. Independence means control but without monetary control what exactly is the win here? Seems to me it wil be worse not being politically connected to the body deciding on your monetary future and less independent, more like a child being told what to do. No?
  16. Bigger screen isnt that important when you watch things on the TV. Its all cosmetic. In which case, Apple wins.
  17. I lived in Rethymnon for a summer. Me and a lass spent just over months in Greece, 2 weeks touring the Pelponnese then arrived in Piraeus. Asked some bloke selling tickets where was good but not too touristy and where we might get work. He recommended there. Had a blast, she worked for the local mafia ang got asked to dance on tables every night, i blagged my way behind the decks of a club called the Cinema. Had a gigantic waterfall down the back of the bar. Was living the dream that summer.
  18. You've spent 3 years congratulating yourself on a keyboard that allows you to type like a 4 year old. I'm saying my ancient phone is more than good enough. I'm not the one positioning myself as the tech guru on here. My point was i see nothing interesting or important the new phones do that 3 year old phones cant. They are already do everything and have done for years. I've passed the upgrade date 8 months ago and not bothered as its just cosmetic.
  19. HF and Gemmill are just being willfully stupid. 'How come more RAM on an iphone costs more then..!!?????" Durhh... As Andrew says, they are a premium brand and charge a bit more but i have to say that shopping for laptops with the same durability and performance only gives a small saving versus Apple. I was surprised at how close these things are actually priced. The idea that an iPad is clunky versus a Nexus is a bit daft too. The iPad is now the number one device in major corporations depsite the fact it doesnt do office well. My Air is super slick. The Nexus might be better but its marginal and once you're on the VPN on Apple, safety is tip top. Lots of business travelers are using an ipad on the road now (or so it seems to me). And most of them have iPhones too. I think Apple must have been killing the Blackberry market. Doesnt mean their products are the best of course, in fact thats probably more an argument for mediocrity than anything else. I lost my iPad 2 just before the summer so spent 3 weeks on holiday with just a iphone 4S. Radio, New films for free, British TV for free, GPS, Kids games, streaming football and then access to my entire music and video collection. It does help we have Apple TV at the house already but i did find myself thinking 'I dont need anything more than this, this is already ridiculously good'. Which really does make all these discussions seem very over the top.
