  1. Paternity leave? Holiday? Furlough? Anywhere but where he should be.
  2. He’ll be gutted when his best man buys him a proofing basket for his wedding gift.
  3. His personality is as unoriginal and dull as his decorative choices.
  4. Only wants his test results if they come in a brown bag.
  5. Aye, don’t get me wrong, I think the small indie places are still very perilous as far as surviving this goes, but they seem to have responded to the challenge very well. The Free Trade, for example, were instrumental in setting up a “buy now eat later” voucher system for the street food vendors who come to their pub on a regular basis- all whilst they themselves were struggling to see how they’d survive. That kind of attitude fosters a very sound community spirit between the businesses and the punters, which I’m not seeing from the larger businesses. Still no guarantees though.
  6. If the penny(well) doesn’t drop after this, it never will. And we all know it won’t.
  7. Also, Wetherspoons can get fucked.
  8. I think the Free Trade and it’s compatriots will be ok, just- they seem to have enough people through online support, willing to buy their beers to takeaway to see them through. I totally agree with you about pedestrianising areas like Front St, Grey St etc. I posted a link to a BBC article on here the other day which said that’s the plan for the city centre. If North Tyneside don’t follow suit at the coast I’d be very surprised.
  9. A lot of the smaller, independent brewers and food places up here were pretty quick in setting themselves up for takeaway/delivery- they’ll definitely have suffered a drop in revenue but hopefully they’ve made enough to keep going. It’d be a huge loss to see the likes of the Free Trade and The Cluny etc closing as a result of this.
  10. Fucking rotten isn’t it?
  11. I liked the “recovery area” - Park & Puke.
  12. It’s quite a horror movie moment, isn’t it?
  13. The pub in Forest Hall reopened today for a few hours, so I ran in and ordered 4 pints, three double rums, and a couple of port and brandys, and necked them one after the other. I looked at the barman and said, “Cheers mate, but I probably shouldn’t be in here with what I’ve got” He stepped away and asked, horrified, “Coronavirus?” I said, “ No mate, £1.75”.
  14. How do I explain to my kid that it’ll be ok to go to school, (with 15-30 classmates depending on which way the wind blows), but he can’t go up the street for a cuddle with his Granny, or see his extended family, or play out with his mates? Utter nonsense.
  15. He’d go well with a nice fried egg.
  16. “ Fucking Gerrin!” And I dropped my Wiener schnitzel at , ” Don’t worry pet, at least your minge got a wash”. Take a bow *posted from my Apple iPhone , subtitles worked fine. I haven’t dropped it off my donkey cart recently though
  17. I was on the very top row of Level 7, right next to the away corner for this season. It was mint- no adverts behind us, the stewards couldn’t be arsed to hike all the way up multiple times per half to tell us to sit down, so we had the entire season on our feet, pissed as rats and loving it 😄 This game was some start to it, too.
  18. You should get on to the union about it.
