  1. I remember my 'little chap' getting christened. Ahh, the memories, 'life was never gonna be the same, what a lady, what a night'.
  2. Aye, spot on too. It's not as simple as just saying there were no clear-cut chances, as you say. Fair enough......we're fooooked
  3. you believe in tradition, are friendly, and remember dates (birthdays, etc.) you are emotional and naive, you care little for details and are a risk-taker. you are secure, stubborn, and stick to your ideals. You are a GREAT listener. You have a great sex life. Contrary?.....Ha! My PIG
  4. Nice analogy btw. I need a new kitchen and was quoted £9K from B&Q ffs. B & fucking Q! They won't budge either. What recession etc.... Can I put my two pennies in without reading this thread? Shepherd and Halls - small time business people with ambition but without the funds to accomplish anything in the modern football era (post Abromovich). Personally I took offence at their personal greed (salaries, dividends etc) which contradicted them being genuine fans imo. Ashley - big time business man with plenty of funds but zero ambition for the future of the club. Fucked up big time on the asking price of the club and now is determined to get his money back, regardless of whether it's good for the club or not. Seems to revel in insulting the fans at every opportunity. Basically a massive cunt. Anyone else agree? Whatever you do avoid B&Q. I did a lot of research on this in the summer and ended up using a very professional company called NB Kitchens based on bede industrial estate next to Tesco in South Shields. Their ranges are fantastic and far superior build to B&Q and I shit you not, their service is unbelievable (remember this is high praise coming from a cynic who spent 18 years in retail). They will come out, absolutely no selling, see what your after and mock up you up the best 3d "photo" plan you will ever see. They send this out to you or you can pick it up. Still no hard sell. Started fitting on a Monday and finished on a Friday and their proper Joiners were fantastic. We even had a change of mind about something half way through and nothing was a bother. They have done loads of work for friends and family. We went for the white high gloss. The bloke who owns it is called Norman Aidie. http://www.nbinteriors.net/ We agreed a price of £6000 for quite a large units and that included about £2000 worth of appliances. Fitters fee was £850.
  5. shame you don't compehend ambition when it stares you in the face. We will not get back into the Champions League ie near thetop of the league again until we get owners like the Halls and Shepherd again. The vast majority of potential owners would more than likely be the same as, or worse than, Mike Ashley. That means finding someone who knows the club and has the same ambition as the Halls and Shepherd, could be difficult and could take a long time. Admit it. You were wrong, and you won't even admit it. So the next time you feel "embarrassment" at being laughed at for supporting a top football club, just tell them they are wankers instead of whining on about how terrible it makes you feel. Comprehend ? Class. Read that in a proper playground voice. No reply though ? You can reply to the rest of the post too if you like. In your own time, when you comprehend it ? As you don't even comprehend someone with less than 30% of shares doesn't run the football club single handed, I'm not holding my breath.
  6. Reasons? dunno. just can't see myself getting that involved. i care about the club and what happens to it dearly but my involvement over the years has rarely stretched to more than attending a handful of games a season and posting on this forum. it's partially because i've lived down in london for about 10 years now. if i still lived back home i might be more engaged but i think it's mainly because i'm lazy. it's way easier to keep in touch with football matters by chatting on a forum than it is attending supporters' clubs meetings etc. arguably less productive too but i can't see myself changing, soz. Thats understandable, I wasnt meaning my question as a "why the hell not like?" but just so we can gauge if it needed to be something else to what was envisaged. What I would say though is that being OOT and part of these things can often give a closer feeling of being involved in the club. A large proportion of NUST members are not in North East. Off the top of my head though I wouldnt see any reason for the subs to be the tenner that NUST charge. One of the reasons I argued for a proper fee for NUST was because it had "politcial" aspirations and therefore could be influenced wrongly by makems etc if there wasnt a membership fee. At the same time you need some sort of fee to allow you to negotiate discounts with travel firms etc and organise events. Anyone know if theres any pubs for sale? Good things come to those who wait Im sure there will be some local Landlord who would let you use a function room if your going to guarantee a canny turn out. Think you just have to keep in mind to start small and establish solid foundations. I dont know who the "we" you refer to is, but I still think having a pre match drinks or even a pre match bite in stowell street with the Arsenal boys would be worthwhile and Im sure they would be only too happy to have a chat. The link I posted earlier is the contact emails for the lads running it and Im sure a few of them will be up tomorrow. Anyway, good luck with it and any help I can be, practical or financial, give me a shout. I would think a decent website would be a good start to allow for registration, info etc. Would be nice if Toontastic could be the forum of the Supporters club as it would probably be of benefit to both. Im sure there will pluses and minus's to that. Good luck.
  7. Same for me, It will all the stokoeshops.
  8. Due Date --- Robert Downey Junior 5/10 (being kind) Great actor whose talents are quite often wasted. A few very funny moments (see them all in the trailer) but not enough to fill an otherwise unfunny comedy road trip / buddy film.
  9. Apart from their own shortcomings, a lot of it is also down to chances being created, which at the moment seem very rare.
  10. Quite simply an excellent post young man.
  11. Worth considering what the crowds would have been had Keegans return and the 3 year ticket scheme not come in. Definitely enticed me back and I think quite a few others.
  12. Just the same old quotes that were circulated on Wednesday night. Nowt new.
  13. This just still hearsay or anything resembling official yet.
  14. Just had a very sad dream I has this beautiful little black lamb that I loved with all my heart. I decided to take him for a walk in the country and cut through this field with approx 100 liitle black lambs....... And lost him
  15. depressed. Our lass decided to have a go at trimming my eyebrows and went to far. I look like a thumb.
  16. Alan Pardew set to bring Rennes' Sylvain Marveaux to Newcastle in summer
  17. http://www.facebook.com/afsc.london http://www.arsenalsupportersclub.co.uk/ind...2&Itemid=58
  18. In a moment of boredom I was trying to look at the club from a different perspective based on the quality of our squads to others and our financial position to others. Almost as a buyer would. Example. If you were buying Everton you would need 200 mill to pay of their debt and 100 mill to build a new ground. Their squads not great so all things considered I would rather buy Newcastle. I was just trying to get a "real" picture of our worth / standing etc rather than the emotional fans view which ranges from a relegation threatened bottom feeder to contender for Europe.
  19. Amazed if he plays this season but regardless, I would like him to have the freedom of the attacking middle to go wherever he wants. A see him as a Beardsley type who can either set people up but also score stunning goals himself. Who he plays with will depend on what happens in the summer. Hopefully somebody decent to lead the attack. (sickening to be typing that).
