Materialism: The "What have you bought?" Thread
Christmas Tree replied to Tooj's topic in General Chat
If you go to Brugges I would urge you to visit that restaurant I have mentioned a few times. Nice 5 minute canal walk from the centre and really really nice place and fabulous food. -
Hoping for a Liverpool type re-action from the players and another 3-1 as well.

Good man, nothing better than drunken posts

Same reason my cousin did, for the gifts and party Gifts not important but Party yup. Coming from a very large family I love any chance whatsoever to have a large family gathering. While Im not religious, the wife is'ish. with regard to the invitation, that is just a mock up from the website and nothing we have added.

For me its now all about the summer. It we dont spend a lot then we finally will have no doubt about his intentions.

I think you have to look at both sides of the story and, even giving the club the benefit of the doubt (not sure why you could reasonably expect honesty from them though given their track record), you'd have to say the truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two tales. With that in mind the club were more than happy to take the money on offer and they'd have known that they'd have to increase Carroll's current salary if they expected him to stay. I suspect they weren't prepared to take the chance on his worth never being as high again and let the player know they wanted to sell him. tbh honest I wasnt saying that from a factual belief, more from a position that I think he should have adopted. The people running the club have no loyalty of affection to the club. He did. And I do genuinely think when the emotions have faded away he will see that he has blown a great opportunity to be a Newcastle great.

Anyone know someone who does these. I like the ones where you can design it yourself online and see the finished article before you pay, however the design we like is on a site that wants you to pay first and see the proof after. After about 50 This is the layout (pictures and info are generic).

Nervous. Vicars due in 8 minutes. Will he see me for the non believer I am?

As a young lad who has come through the club, being looked after by the club through his mis adventures, and only completed half a season in the premiership on a much improved contract length and salary, he should have had the good decency to continue his recovery and then enter into re-negogiations in the summer as preferred by the club. He shouldnt have been giving it all Billy Big Balls, especially bearing in mind his undying love for the club and talk of being the next Shearer. He has blown a golden opportunity imo.

Have a nose around here http://www.arsenalsupportersclub.co.uk/ Seriously, have a look.

Ah right. Think you can christen them any time you like really??? To be honest though I dont think Ive ever attended a christening of a five day old.

Unbelievable, coming from somebody who has previously bombarded/spammed the forum with pro-Ashley/Dekka threadstarters for months. Return to type lad........... that's your comfort zone. There's something about Zero....... Not sure what it is but lately you have made quite a few anti ashley posts that are just not anti ashley football related, but more often going into great detail business wise. The mans a self made billionaire in his early 40's He employs thousands of people throughout the country He generates millions in tax each year to help run the country He helps old ladys across zebra crossings. His business is pile it high, sell it cheap. Big Deal. McDonalds are McDonalds not Egon fucking Ronay. They sell a cheap unhealthy product but make billions world wide. Hes a tough cookie to do business with and enjoys the rough and tumble of it. WOW. Sounds like most self made retail millionaires. Do you think Alan Sugars whiter the white? What about Sir Philip green? I cant make my mind up whether your doing some business course at A level or whether you've worked for Sports Direct, but theres definitely something odd about your posts of late. Just call the man a CUNT like most who detest him and get it over with. As to the spite part of your post, who the fuck knows or will ever know. My opinion is that he has a very clear vision for how he now wants to run the club. Nothing and no-one is going to distract him from that path. He is not going to sit there and worry about bad PR. I have no idea whether his goal is to syphon off money to recover his losses or build the club back up the way he thinks it should be done. In hindsight, the Carroll sale hasnt particularly made that picture any clearer and it will be the summer window that tells you once and for all, everything you need to know about his intentions for the club. Anything less than an excellent summer transfer window would be unacceptable. As for your take on any degree of a personal vested interest behind my postings. You're way off the mark lad. What i've seen lad [in this man's running of the club, based on the continuation of retail market practices: which one would describe as being lacking in ethics] is a club, which was once run in a professional manner, now having it's guts ripped & stripped of it's class, hence my earlier comparison to Lillywhites. BTW most of your postings read more like patronising 3rd party blogs, for the club's/Ashley's media department. Is that your moonlighting position - unpaid labour outside the illustrious earnings associated with driving cabs. Aye you 45 or over?

Yeah. I've thought a lot about it, and I've thought about whether it would be right for another fans group to go head to head against the trust (think the Judean People's Front in The Life of Brian). But if NUST won't act to the will of the members, f*ck it, lets put something up against it that will, and see which one people join. If there are enough people interested, as I've said I'd love to be involved in setting something up. You wouldnt be going against nothing. The trust is dead and buried. Not being funny, but its probably harder for the likes of yourself ans Pud to see having being so close to it, put so much in and had such great hopes for it. It may be lingering, but its dead. Somebody said earlier in this thread that now is the wrong time to try again with this so fresh in peoples memories. But in truth and because of that it is the ideal time to try again. There is a desire out there for a great supporters club. Keep it simple stupid. If it was down to me organising it, I would make contact with the Arsenal supporters club and see if there is any chance of a get together prior to the game to cherry pick some ideas on the best way forward. What works, whats important and whats not. http://www.arsenalsupportersclub.co.uk/ The greatest achievements are those built on solid foundations. Worry about the first 10 members, not the first 1000. I have no doubt you would get a good few off here for starters. Then just let the thing grow at its own pace. A few socials, a few pre match drinks, a player night etc. Howay lads, get it sorted. So will you put your money where your mouth is, and get involved then? Setting this up isn't and can't be a one or two man job, its going to take quite a few people. Said many times I will do what I can. Wouldnt want to be at the forefront as an out of towner and currently none season ticket holder. I would like to see real genuine salt of the earths overseeing it. I dont know you but from what I've read from PP over two to three years, he seems very genuine. I would do whatever I could, however I would strongly suggest the Arsenal meet us as a very good first step. No need to re-invent the wheel. Ready and waiting sa.

do you not normally christen wains 5 days after they're born? ???????? Whats a wain and he was born in October so he'll be about 6 months. If it was a joke, then Im wooshed

I've been to every chinkies in Stowell Street over a long period of time, and they're all shite. Not a patch on the chinkies in China Town in London. There's one called Wonky's that is cheap as chips the staff are incredibly rude but that's part of it's attraction, best chinese food ever. You hit the nail on the head tbh, Newcastle is shite for restaurants. People in London are totally spoilt in that regard. The best chinese on Stowell Street actually is the take away, think it used to be called Wok This Way, got a diff name maybe now. I lurve the King Neptune like. Once got a brilliant right up off the The Times foody writer. They specialise in Seafood. But aye, the choice of proper restaurants is piss poor. Ive been to great restaurants all over the country and dont understand why a city like Newcastle cant be a little more adventurous.

Its like Rocky in Rocky 3 tapping away at Mr T's mohican and continually taking punches until he is so mad he loses it and fucks him over. Each chocolate eclair that passes my lips is fuelling a hidden desire to diet. In a weeks time I'll be fucking hammering the treadmill, walking the dog and gyrating to the FHM High Street Honeys Dance workout DVD.

Andy Carroll aftermath(press conf/interviews etc)

Think Carroll will find himself regretting this decision for the rest of his life. -
Ended up in the old favourite, King Neptune in Stowell Street. Emerald banquet £25 Yum Yum.
