  1. What bollocks. Well the Souness out Roeder in is complete bollocks. But a lot of people wanted Roeder at the end of his caretakership and an awful lot of people DID want Robson out . It's probably no surprise if this is the national view of Newcastle fans. Fop, you talk an inordinate amount of shit. Firstly, you're talking nonsense in your assessment of the fans. I think extremely few people actually wanted Roeder to stop on after the season had finished and were keen to see a proper external appointment made. I'd go further and say I think they actually expected it. The Robson situation was slighly different in that it was only proper and sensible that the man bowed out at some point as he was getting towards his mid fucking seventies-it wasnt rocket science-it was all about the strategy of replacing him and central to that was the issue of timing. In the end, as we all know, the timing couldnt have been any worse. All of the above, including the appointment of Souness in between, has been an unmitigated disaster. Secondly and much more importantly however, to tie this in with the Rod Liddle bollocks, even if your assessment of the fans views was correct it is meaningless. The fans are entitled to say what they like, the fans are entitled to be completely wrong and the fans are entitled to the benefit of hindsight. It's a completely redundant argument because in short the fans don't run the football club. If you want to use the most extreme example of that, a huge number of Man U fans wanted Ferguson out very early on in his tenure (only to be placated by a Cup Winners Cup win) and then again after they lost the title race to Leeds (only to be placated by their triumph the following season). This is absolute fact-I grew up with it and remember it vividly speaking to mates at school, listening to radio phone ins etc etc. On both of those occasions the fans views were ignored by a strong board who had a belief in the manager and a vision for the future. On each occassion the fans have benefitted from having their views overruled. This is how it should be ideally. There is a slight paternalistic aspect to it which is uncomfortable, but the only real point of importance is that the board are paid to know whats best for the club and it is their fucking job to know whats best for the club. The fans on the otherhand are entitled to talk shite and sense in equal instalments but that never avails a chairman or any of his apologists of a defence to a bad appointment (be it either personnel or timing). The 'overwhelming fan's support' defence that is being trotted out now as a near pre-emptive strike is the most desparate management I think I've ever witnessed and is nothing short of a fucking disgrace. It speaks volumes about how this club has been run for many years now. Excellent post Mancmag I think the point is FDL no matter what people though or posted on here or elsewhere, no-one chanted Robson-out.It's the invention of a twisted smoggie mind

its quite obvious that he's guilty, and hes a fanny The legal system could save a fortune by doing away with juries and just employing you !
  3. I love it when opinion is posted as fact. Vic is right.Tacit approval means not spoken but implied,so by saying nothing publicly and letting FFS spout off and get on get on with things. He is tacitly supporting him. He is also giving FFS enough rope to hang himself
  4. are you going to take your ball aswell? fucks sake man grow up. The days of beating your chest and "hating" your geographical rivals are over, we needn't "hate" sunderland, because they are of absolutely no threat to us. Sure we all love to see them lose and get forced further and further down the league, but if I saw a mackem shirt in the pub when I'm watching a match in Leeds I'll not snarl and hurl abuse. I'll most likely have more in common with the mackem then half the lads in the pub. some of my best mates have watched Purely Belter! fucking hell man! "You're whats wrong with modern football"... -alicious ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve does make a very valid point ,which I think you are missing. If you read the smallprint of your Sky contract it clearly states that 'Sky are well within their rights to withhold football broadcasts to all and any who befriend the great unwashed for ANY reason whatsoever' Rather than being aggressive I think Steve was just trying to give you a friendly tip.Of course everyone knows that Spurs fans are Twats
  5. Beans - You've left Carr off your list!
  6. Didn't he sign for Norwich from Gillingham when we were after him ,cos he was such a big Newcastle fan?
  7. Are you meant to Christmas -up your existing avatar or do something like this?
  8. Hypocrasy in five words, awesome \o/ Illiterate and innumerate .Well done First have a look back at some of your posts in this thread, then have a think about whether or not 'Z' is a word. Anyway, you're probably cringing at your drunken rant now, so... Zathras is from the US btw. Look, I have said I did go overboard. The comment was one thing ,the rolling eye balls ,another. There was no need and I found it condecending No ,I was not drunk.I was knived in the liver after a match years ago,and now I drink very little,in fact I can not.I have also had a skull fracture, broken fingers and a broken ankle. All at away matches. Before any one comments ,on each occasion I was attacked for wearing Newcastle colours.Probably the reason I found the article annoying. If a letter is used as an abbreviation of a name it is usually concidered a word The man lists his country as India,I did not think that was in America No I am not cringing Can we leave it there now?

  10. Do yourself a favour man, shush. It's an old old tactic, meeja types will deliberately say something controversial simply for the outrage it provokes. They know that the number of people who will actually stop buying/listening/reading their shite is insignificant when stacked up against the sheer volume of people who will furiously write off a reply and buy/listen/read next weeks offering in the veign hope the original author will retract his statements with a humble apology to the fine men and women who saw fit to complain. Howay man, Talksport do it week in week out, the tabloids do it. They do it to get people like you up on their high horse. If you're genuinely offended by something that an American (of all people) said, on a website, about the colour of a fucking strip, then by Gods man, you need to adjust your indignity-cannon. He's not going to retract his statemtn, his statement bears little or no relevance to fact or general consensus, so why, oh why could you give the tiniest of rats shit? Precisely. You are right Fish ,I do need to react with a little less volitility. If I had learnt that lesson years ago ,I would not be on first name terms with so many members of the local constabulary. after the first post , which was written more tongue in cheek than anything else,(I should use more smilies) it was not so much the American my bile was aimed at but in fact at the gentleman from the sub continent Know it all twaats who roll their eyes ,make condecending and one word posts and then rely on other people to fight there corner tend to irk me somewhat and I take the attitude that I have rather childishly displayed. I still think you're a tosser Z and a cyber warrior. And just as an aside, I've had to fight for my life because of that strip more time than I care to remember
  11. Which is exactly what he wants... And why exactly would he want an angry exchange with a large amount of posters.A reaction - yes a mixed view - yes ,but if the entire reaction is negative ,his editor kicks his arse. Smartarse When a columnist writes shit stirring stuff like '10 Worst' lists, they're expecting an almost entirely negative response from people 'defending' their favorite player/team. That is the desired response as it shows that you are reading his shite and and suggests that you may continue to do so to be certain he doesn't make another 'error in judgement.' So can I conclude from that, pushing your theory a little further, that if someone insults you or yours ,that you would do nothing.Just incase they came back and did it again? Sorry I prefer to stand up. That is on personal level. Funny how you recommend turning the other cheek, but sitting at a consule you rolling your eyes .Well seen you would not do it face to face Professionally I've worked in and around the media for over15 years(the record industry)and have yet to meet people within the industry as a whole, who purposely piss off the paying public.Maybe it is different where you live. If you would rather attack someone who has supported Newcastle for forty years and stand up for some American hack I can only deduce that you are a tosser

  13. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well instead of bleating about it let just invade the toerags site and let him know what we think of him and his poxy opinions
  14. ''Turning Japanese,oh yes I'm turning Japanese.I really think so.
  15. Solano looks like a proper cultured right back. Puts Stephen Carr to shame. Mind if he comes up against a flyer on the wing he'd maybe have a shit afternoon of it, but I reckon his football brain will probably get him out of a lot of scrapes that Carr wouldn't be able to cope with. I would hope we've seen the last of that idiot at right back. Could not agree more.I think Solano gives stability to the defense. As you say ,he can think his way out of trouble. If not he can put in a lovely pro - foul that doesn't cripple the opposition or get himself sent off. If I never see Carr again it will be too soon.
  16. There is just the possibility that the reason he wouldn't sign ,is the same (or similar) reason Jenas left!
  17. Not long after Ned was rushed out of Newcastle,I was at a conference at an exclusive midlands hotel (I worked in the music industry at the time) .One of the local guys told us that football clubs in the area used the hotel before games. Sure enough about 5 minutes later Wolves marched in. I made a starstruck bee-line for David Kelly, shuck his hand, thanked him for THAT goal, and the rest. What a nice bloke ,we had a bit of a chat and before I left him in peace I told him how sorry I was to see him go and he said , 'you're sorry ,how do you think I feel' Up to that point Keegan had walked on water ,as far as I was concerned .But I could not help thinking that he had sh*t on the bloke who had scored THAT goal and done so much more for us without all the hero worship that others got. Keegan was never the same in my eyes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID AND THANK YOU
  18. Becareful now, that isn't just a rumour is it Ted?
  19. NO . From that whole diatribe was that the only thing you could pick out ? Even though I offered the postscript 'I DON'T KNOW' So basically you could not be bothered to even try to see another point of view ,and attacked the first thing you thought was a target. If you are not prepare to construct a cogent argument don't pick holes in the efforts of others like a child would.
  20. Even more unproffessional from the player you continually defend though. I haven't defended him in this thread. If what Clark says is true then fair enough, he still shouldn't have came out and said it in public. Fair do's. Any body who is prepared to sit at the same table as oliver can't really expect any one to believe them ,can they. And to be honest how can Jigsaw sit in professional judgement of anyone ,his 'Southampton' antics have already been pointed out and Keegan had to smack his arse like a spoilt kid. Then there was all the rumours flying around when he and A.Cole left - was it bottles or glasses they were lining up - I don't know.OK we all had a huge laugh with what went down when he played for the mackems - but professional -don't make me giggle Personally I don't think Luque is another mercanary like some we've had and I havn't got a clue what Luque is like in training ,but I have seen some of the stupid decisions that Roeder has made ,formations that look unworkable from the 1st minute ,substitutions that are simply baffling. His insistense in playing Ameobi, injured and almost crippled, after he slagged Souness for doing the same thing. He also stated the Carr was 'on fire' and playing great!!!!!!! Not the one I've been watching.Alway playing Duff no matter what, and pissing off the best young propect at SJP.Giving first team experience to a player who in all likely hood will be playing against us soon and leaving Luque or Finnigan or Carroll out. It's all been said on here before about how many games Luque has had and how many he's scored,so I won't go over all that again . I lay most of the blame there ,Roeder has not give him a real chance and only played him when the situation forced him to.When he's played he's scored. He's not a target man ,he's not a battering ram.But he's never had a real chance to get up to speed ,and never will with Roeder If I was treated like this at my job - and the same applies to anyone else on here - I would not be going in on Monday morning and busting my balls after being shit on. If you pulled the companies collective nuts out of the fire on thursday and then told you were being demoted on the saturday you would have a face like a smacked arse- I would. For Christ sake he's even played Duff as a Centre Forward ,winger and fullback, while Luques begging him for a game I don't care if he only comes alive 5 minutes out of 90 if he scores-you know like, Robert or Ginola or like Owen is supposed to do (if we ever see him play) And if he gets a few games in and he is crap .Then I will condemn him but not on anal -Jigsaws or even Roeder word cos I don't believe them.
