1. My main gripe with the film was its pacing - it takes ages to set the scene, followed by what essentially a long, drawn out chase sequence, a bit of hanging around then a (shit) CGI fest for the battle. Although if they are making several of these (dear god) then admittidly quite a bit of exposition at the start is required (as in the first X-Men film).
2. Just seen it and have come to the conclusion that your opinion is bizarre to say the least. It is utterly faithful to the book in much the same way Lord of the Rings was. As such I would say the film is almost beyond criticism. I also completely disagree with your assertion of the acting and CGI, the latter of which I thought was remarkable. As for it being slow moving and a kids film, well yes, what the hell did you expect? A bit like saying the LotR is about hobbits and elves really. At the end of the day Narnia does what it says it will, and is a good nostalgic trip for adults who read the book as a kid, and a brilliant film for kids who haven't read the book. 69293 Kids films can still be entertaining for adults - see Toy Story, Shrek, most Disney films are watchable at least. If kids enjoy this film then good for them - I didn't. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more had I read the book, but again this doesn't have to be a neccessity - I enjoyed the LotR films despite not reading the books first. Being a kids film based on a book does not excuse it from being shite!
3. I don't want to ask what you're doing to said bender.
4. It hurts my eyes. I wish he'd choose a bender with a less garish leotard to indulge in his nerdwank fantasies.
5. It was interesting, but I couldn't think of a decent reply. 69206 That's OK. Trying to figure out your avatar is entertainment enough. 69207 Gemmill's bumcraft fixation is spreading like wildfire tbh.
6. Useless child actors, slow moving yet poorly explained plot, shoddy looking CGI. A boring kids film, and the end couldn't come soon enough.
7. God, HTT is a petty fucker. I bet Monopoly on boxing day at his place is horrific.
8. Snatch has its moments but is essentially a poor man's Lock Stock.
9. I don't think Pearl Harbour was Cameron. Anyway, you're all wrong. Revolver is by far and away the worst film ever. I know this despite not seeing most of the films mentioned in this thread, as I fail to see how Mr Madonna could have made it any worse.
10. I feel your pain. Are you still in Leeds?
11. John Peel and Shelia Ravenscroft - Margrave of the Marshes. It's a biography started by Peel but finished by his wife after he died. Fair play to him for tricking many young gullible American girls into bed by claiming he knew the Beatles.
12. Shunts are shunts, no matter what direction! Stupid Aussie Rules. If you're going to be such a baby... Archway Road.
13. Assuming shunts are allowed, Oxford Street.
14. She's a witch, and as such should be burnt. Can't get anymore Christian than that.
15. I'd imagine it was the fear of the resulting death sentance that put them off the idea of a court martial rather than loss of pride tbh.
16. Because they'd be court martialled and shot anyway?
17. After watching Rome for the last few weeks, I could no longer resist temptation and watched Life of Brian the other night. What did the Romans ever do for us?!
18. The Libertines - Up the Bracket. Thought I'd lost it, but found it in my housemates room!
19. Oasis - familiar to millions. I was there!
20. That's the thing tho - contrary to what its critics say (including the Gallaghers!) I think it's much better than any of their subsequent albums.
21. Badly Drawn Boy - Have You Fed the Fish? Was listening to Be Here Now earlier- although it is roundly slated as the point where Oasis's star faded, IMO it's a great album and pisses over anything they've done since (and most other shit knocking around these days).
22. Several posters on here have trouble with staying on the right side of the line tbh.
23. I heard this winter is going to be one of the coldest in ages.
