  1. I don't, Carr perhaps but I'd take Baba over Ramage any time he's fit!
  2. Seattle Sounders? Alan Hudson(England, Chelsea, Stoke, & Arsenal, was with the Seattle Sounders 1979 - 1983. Ray Hudson, is the Gateshead lad who was with Newcastle from 1973 to 1977 and then with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, Florida, from 1977 - 1983. Ray is still around doing TV work here in the States.
  3. Wrong/Right, not trying to prove anything, players moving abroad in the 50's/60's/early 70's was an exception is all I'm saying, certainly not like the last 20 years or so. There's a list of 7 players been produced for the 50's/60's (two of whom moved for political reasons), I could have added more than 7 with the likes of Jimmy Greaves & Denis Law moving to Italy in 1961. You are wrong my friend, the North American Soccer League was formed in 1968 and there was a massive infux of players from Europe, Scandanavia, North, Central, & South America. The interest to start a professional league in America was aroused by the 1966 World Cup Final which was broadcast here in the States. Pele signed for the New York Cosmos in 1975. George Best signed for the Los Angeles Aztecs in 1976(and he was only 27). The late 70's early 80's saw a large number of players from Britain and elsewhere giving it a try in the States including some of our own, Peter Beardsley to Canada & Mike Mahoney to the States. I believe there was a Hudson too!
  4. Not true according to the likes of:- Franklin(England) to Columbia in 1950 Di Stefano(Argentina) to Columbia in 1949 then Spain in 1953. Billy Steel(Scotland) to America in 1954. Puskas(Hungary) to Spain in 1956. Kocsis(Hungary) to Spain in 1956. Charles(Wales) to Italy in 1957. Gerry Hitchens(Englend) to Italy in 1961. And keep in mind that Pele's debut with Santos was in 1956. So there were players playing abroad in 'those' days.
  5. I was really worried about Damage having to face the likes of Hleb, Damage is woeful in one on ones and he gives too much space for them to work with. Baba is not the best but he's the only left-back we have, don't we have a left-back on the reserve team who is half way decent.
  6. of course.....a life long one that has taken 42 years mate ....... mmmmm.............I doubt you are 42 years old as no one starts a degree at birth and it's hardly likely that anyone enrolls before the age of 5 so you must be at least 47 years old, or older?? Unless of course you are 42 years old and are just taking the liberty of saying 'life-long' for effect. Now I could say...........'a life-long one that has taken 74 years mate' but that would be gilding the lily as I doubt I had any real interest in things while in nappies
  7. No problemo. ...............................................Given ...............Taylor...............Moore.........Ramage.........Duff ...........Solano...................Parker..........Dyer..................Zoggy ........................................Martins.........Rossi Butt Sibby Bramble
  8. Absolutely true! only when I recognised I was having problems finding words was there any indication that there was something wrong and no one else was aware of it probably because I was adept at finding alternate words. It came to a 'head' when keeled over in Durham City and woke up in hospital. The day I left work to go on holiday everything I was responsible for was shipshape and in Bristol fashion ready for my stand-in to take over while I was gone. My tumour was about the size of an egg and located in my left temple area, was slow-growing, had not become invasive, and there was no way of telling just how long it had been there, maybe years.
  9. Are these insinuations that people who have had brain tumours have had their performence in life eroded and unable to lead normal lives?? If they are then I think more research should be done on survivors, pay me a visit and I'll blow holes in your assessments.
  10. I didn't know we had any players from Poland on our books
  11. Not sure how much we spent on:- Bellamy.............good buy, too bad we lost him. Dyer..................has not lived up to potential............yet.
  12. I suppose there is some consolation in the fact we didn't lose even when we should have. This game in itself shows that Roeder is not the man for the job especially after playing Shola for so long.
  13. They've already had 4 shots to our 1, I think it is just a matter of time before they score
  14. It beggars belief that Roeder didn't take Shola off at halftime.
  15. Minute into the 2nd.half and Taylor gets a yellow, Christ! AND, Roeder's made no changes, Jesus!
  16. Roeder needs a fucking good slap for this. I'd sack him straight after the match and tell him he's not even allowed to get on the coach back to Newcastle. And put who in charge instead? That's the thing Pearson temporarily
  17. AND, I got up at 4:30 in the morning for this, 2nd.Half had better be better reading
  18. Following the match on ESPN Soccernet & BBC Sport text commentaries it's hard to believe how much of the play has been Man.City's and how they haven't scored. It reads like shit
  19. According to BBC Sport they have 73% of play
  20. According to ESPN Soccernet they've had 5 shots on goal to our 1 and they have 66% of the play
  21. I didn't know that, someone besides you should have told me
  22. It's always nice to know you're not alone and the only one
  23. .................................................... the impact on a person who had the condition Roeder did. I am not making excuses for anyone, I am pionting out the effect it has on any human being........... I suggest you two read my earlier post about my experience with a brain tumour and recognise the fact that niether one of you really knows anything about situations like that as each person reacts differently and in different degrees to the other in similar circumstances. You are both farting in a thunderstom, or pissing into the wind if you like.
