Maybe it's just blind, deluded optimism or me still feeling the effects of three days' hard drinking, but I think he could be another Keegan for us. From a realistic perspective, it's all going to end in tears though.

To be fair, if we beat Wigan on Boxing Day (which I doubt), we wouldn't be far off 6th place and Allardyce's "unbeaten run" would actually be a half-decent one.

I find it absolutely astonishing that people feel the need to constantly have a go at Martins when there are two players - Smith and Barton - who continue to contribute absolutely fuck all to the team. It's amazing that people are surprised England didn't qualify for the Euros when you consider that Barton and Smith are/were part of the England squad. Overrated beyond belief. I know I didn't stick to the topic there, but I had to get that off my chest. What an utter waste of £12m. Utter rubbish.

EDIT: I've removed the fixtures because I guess we're still not allowed to post them. You're right though, the next couple of months look bleak - we have Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Villa away. The home games against Man City, Bolton and Boro should be winnable though.

Martins is having a good game though. Still more likely to score than Smith though, it will probably be another two years before he gets another goal... Smith's more likely to control the ball though. Do people STILL think Martins is any good btw? Who do you think is more likely to get a goal then, Smith or Martins? I'm not Martins' biggest fan, but some of the criticism he gets is over the top when he's our only striker who is actually capable of scoring. Hence me comparing him to our other players. That's my problem with him. Btw, I think the praise he gets far exceeds the criticism, and I think for the most part it's totally unwarranted.
