Bright start from us but Sheff Utd coming into it now, they've just had a few corners in a row putting us under pressure. Sunderland beating Wolves 1-0, Liverpool beating Reading 1-0. -

Boro winning 1-0, if the scores stay the same they will move above us in the league. -

I'd prefer Baba at left back than Carr. 0-0. -

I'll wait to see Glenn's team sheet before I predict a result. -
Eminently possible. Do you think that a 32 year old Turk who couldn't make it in the Jorman second division is the right quality to look at? Do you think it does contradict a lot of what Roeder said in the past? No and yes.

Could it be that he's coming in as a back up? with Bernard as good as out and Babayaro doing fuck all to deserve his big wages, could it be that Bulut could come in as back up to a better, first choice left back? Whatever happens we're going to need to left backs and Babayaro's wages are (reportedly) too high for a second choice in that position.

So the 5h best manager in the league for the 5th best club in the last decade. It's like they're made for each other tbh.

I'm off to Gran Canaria for a week on monday. Not my first choice as a destination but I didn't book it until yesterday so I had to have what I could get.

If we want to get anywhere as a club then we should only be playing an "Anchorman" in midfield in a 4-4-2 formation for maybe a dozen games a season, the rest of the time it's just a negative tactic that holds us back against teams we should be destroying.

Valencia.

Leazes reminds me of a middle aged Kingdawson tbh. Vic is a seriously sad twat though so I voted for him.

Happy Birthday.

Wasn't there an article before Christmas saying this is what Belgravia wanted to do if they bought the club? Could they be financing the hotels and stand?
-
Happy Birthday mate.

It's a different one, he's only 19 now.

I seen it advertised a few weeks back, I'll be watching it. "The most hated family in the USA" or something like that.

How about worst photoshop attempt ever? although I'm sure you thought it was funny and original when you made it.

Photoshopped tbh

He's made a good post on his forum about how he was behind Roeder appointment but that he has to go in the summer. I don't think he blames Freddie though.

Which is incentive enough for him to stay on. Who in their right mind would leave a team that is the best in their country and is guaranteed Champs League football to come to Newcastle? The challenge of winning the CL will be incentive enough for Houllier to stay on there, despite how much money is thrown at him. You guys really are deluded to think that ANY of the managers mentioned in this thread would leave their current positions to come to a mid-table team that has a chairman renowned for not wanting foreigners. I don't think it's deluded at all, Le Guen could have stayed at Lyon and tried for the CL but left to join Rangers in Scotland, Houllier has spoken about wanting to return to manage in England, he's not in a position where a top 4 team is going to come in for him so he'll have to look further down the list. I'd say we have every chance of getting him to come here.

It depends on how long you think he'll be here, if he was to stay first team manager until he was 65 before moving upstairs he'd still have plenty of time to sort this club out, in his 5 years at Liverpool he finished 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th and 4th as well as picking up 5 trophies on the way. We wouldn't be moving him upstairs for the sake of it either as he knows football inside out, he was the technical director with the French football association when they went on to win the World cup and was credited with a lot of their success, he was also the first manager (I think) to introduce a skills coach into his coaching set up to work on players technique. That's without even mentioning the sort of players he turned Owen and Gerrard into. We could do an awful lot worse than Houllier......... but the question is could Houllier do worse than Newcastle? I think he would come here, I remember back last season after Souness had been sacked that Houllier was on the BBC talking about how he would love to come back to manage in England, he said it was like a second home to him, he also got asked if he would be interested in the Newcastle job before Lyon played Milan in the CL and he smiled before saying "we'll see" or something along those lines. The Lyon job is just too easy for him now, apart from winning the CL there isn't alot more he can achieve with them.
