4. A Turkish international who scored 30 goals last season would be a better option than what we have available right now.
5. To be fair i think its hard to judge who is realistic and unrealistic. As much as we are more of a comedy club than a football club we are still seen as a reasonably big club. The signing of the likes of Emre still show this IMO
6. Please tell me our club is at least aware of his availability?
7. I think you`ll find both Jimbo and I agreeing with you on that one. 16684 Not a realistic one IMO though. Seems too decent a bloke to walk out on a job he's just started. 16686 Considering there is already quite a few reports this side of the border about his not so good relationship with Romanov i don`t think it would be that unrealistic.
8. ..Sack the board, sack the board! Just getting some practice in for Sunday..
9. I think you`ll find both Jimbo and I agreeing with you on that one.

12. Lee Young-pyo has agreed a move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports in the Dutch press. Voetbal International state the South Korean left back has reached an accord with Spurs over a move from PSV Eindhoven, who are still desperate to hang on to the player. The defender is believed to hold a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for just €2 million (£1.36m), although that fee could rise to around €3 million (£2.04m) as PSV battle to cling onto the Asian star. Lee will have watched in interest as compatriot Park Ji-sung settles into English football with Manchester United. Park has been an immediate hit with Red Devils fans for his industry and technique - and Lee would be keen to replicate his success. Tottenham have started the season strongly, winning both of their opening two games - but coach Martin Jol is still keen to boost his squad. Lee's impact in the World Cup three years ago prompted his move to Holland, and skysports.com revealed that Spurs were lining up a bid last week.

14. TURKISH ace Emre is hoping he will be fit for Sunday's game with Manchester United after returning to training this week. The summer signing from Inter Milan made an immediate impact on his debut at Arsenal, but a hamstring injury sustained on international duty with Turkey in Bulgaria ruled him out of Saturday's game with West Ham and also prevents him from making the trip to Bolton tomorrow. But Emre will step up his training this week and hopes to be ready for the visit of Sir Alex Ferguson's side on Sunday. Emre told nufc.co.uk: "I was disappointed to get injured with Turkey, especially as I had to miss the game with West Ham because of it. "But it is not serious, the injury is not a problem for me. "I know there was some talk that I could be out for six weeks, but it is nowhere near as bad as that. I will not be ready to play against Bolton, but I hope to be OK for the game with Manchester United on Sunday. "I just turned quickly in the game with Bulgaria and felt my hamstring, so I came off straight away so I did not make it worse. "I stayed in Turkey for some treatment after the game, then I came back to Newcastle. I will work hard in training this week, and then speak with the gaffer and the physiotherapists at the end of the week."

22. Graeme Souness last night insisted he still has the backing of his players as doubts over his future as Newcastle manager increase. Despite a dismal goalless draw against West Ham in their opening Premiership home game of the season, Souness maintained he is the man to get the best out of United's squad. And the defiant Scot - who hopes to tie up the signing of Spanish striker Albert Luque by tomorrow - claimed not to have heard the angry fans' reaction following yesterday's final whistle. Asked if he felt his side still has faith in him, Souness said: "The confidence in the squad is fine. I'm not concerned." On his team being jeered off and the angry chanting among fans leaving the ground, he added: "I didn't hear that." And Souness boldly declared: "I felt there were a lot of good things about my team today. "What was clearly missing were door openers and players that can put the ball in the back of the net. "We are trying to bring in those people before end of the transfer window. "Obviously, you are looking to win your home games. But it's not totally unexpected because we have one proven goalscorer in our team today. "West Ham have defended well and held on. On another day we'd have had a bit of luck. "We've had chances and half chances that on another day might have gone in. It just wasn't to be." On Deportivo La Coruna star Luque, Souness said: "We have agreed a deal with the player and are not far away from agreeing something with the club." Otherwise, Souness said: "What I'm focused on is Wednesday night." But defeat that evening at Bolton would only add to the pressure on the United manager's shoulders. Yesterday's game - and the reaction to it - was reminiscent of Newcastle's 0-0 draw against Charlton at the same stage of the 1998/99 season, which resulted in Kenny Dalglish's departure. Even the dismissal of West Ham's Paul Konchesky failed to pay off for Souness' side yesterday. But the Magpies manager insisted Konchesky's red card WAS fair - an opinion at odds with that of Hammers' boss Alan Pardew. "The difference between this and last week (Jermaine Jenas' sending-off at Arsenal) was that the referee consulted the linesman and they both decided it was a sending off. "My first reaction was that it was." But Pardew countered: "I will be appealing. If you are a football person and you think that was a foul then I don't know . . . "Konchesky won the ball cleanly. He didn't touch the player. I've seen it from a few angles and my opinion hasn't changed. I just hope Dermot Gallagher changes his, but he seems adamant. He feels it was a foul and, to be honest, I cannot fathom that. "Even when it happened, a chuckle went round the Newcastle faithful because they couldn't believe he had been sent off." Pardew added: "It's a shame, because when we had 11 people on the pitch we felt we could get something here."
23. Albert Luque seems a step closer to Newcastle after being left out of Deportivo La Coruna's Intertoto Cup final against Marseille. The Spanish striker is inching towards a switch to St James' Park, with Graeme Souness revealing that they had already agreed personal terms with the player. However, an agreement between the two clubs over a fee was still proving hard to come by. The Magpies are desperate for offensive reinforcements and it seems as though they are closer to landing Luque after he was left out of Deportivo's next game. Manager Joaquin Caparros has left Luque out of the club's second leg of the Intertoto Cup final against Marseille. "The situation today is that we will not count on Luque for this important match," said Caparros. Luque's father Rafael says that the clubs are close to agreeing on a fee for Luque who will soon be on his way to Tyneside. "The accord between the two clubs is imminent," said Rafael Luque. "Luque and Newcastle have already closed on an accord." Deportivo president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro says that the deal has still not been completed but negotiations are ongoing and it now seems merely just a matter of time.
