1 year since SBR was relieved of his duties

Time will tell which of us is right. I personally thought Bellamy was too inconsistent 20524 I think you and all your other aliases is ruining this message board -
I haven't run out of things to say, just can't be bothered. One thing I will say though, is I noticed you said Shepherd had been stingy during the last couple of years. Apart from the fact that he has allowed the current manager to re-shape a team that was an established top 5 team to the tune of 29m quid, and raked in 8m, a difference of 21m quid in 11 months, the point of going back a decade was to point out that going into the last 2 years we had a sizeable transfer deficit, so much so that it may have been necessary to try to balance the books a little. BTW, you insinuated earlier I was HTL, and have mentioned it outright on newcastle online in the past, and you know you have.
-
Smug bastard, got on my tits when he kept saying Leeds were a top 4 team when they were 5th. [we were 4th] Still, needs lots of money. He took over a team that was 5th, spent 96m quid and left them still 5th, and saddled with crippling debt. Hmmmm ... at least it's better than Souness, taking over a team that was 5th, spending loads of dosh too, and will leave us precisely nowhere probably near the bottom saddled with crippling debt. I despise Souness so much I'd have O'Leary to take his place that's how bad its got.. He would come to Newcastl probably because at Villa they really do know what a shit chairman is !

Bellamy was a great player for Newcastle. KLiuvert was a bag of shit. This is all I'm bothered about, and I know because I saw them both play plenty of games. Now give it a flamin rest, and I'm not HTL. So bugger off. As a footnote though, if you buy a pair of Levi jeans, the money is Levi's. If you buy a pint of milk, it's the milkmans. If you buy something from the football club, it's then the football clubs. No one forces anyone to buy a pair of jeans, a pint of milk or something from the football club. This is a link to the transfer fees in and out by Newcastle in the last decade. And it's anything but stingy or breaking even. http://nufc.com/2005-06html/transfers.html

HTL wanted us to lose the last few remaining games of last season. He’s been “supporting” the club for a long time too. (Not that it does matter!) Bollox! It’s FS that has lowered the standards! He got rid of a great manager and replaced him with a poor one. It’s Shepherd that is keeping Souness in his job. It’s Shepherd that watched last season’s mediocre displays from the stands without doing anything about them. I don’t rate Souness, but I defend him when I think it’s fair to do so. I don’t just criticise him for the sake of it. I, unlike you, also blame the players. You treat them like babies. If Shepherd’s hands were forced, then why didn’t he get rid of Souness, instead of the players? Oh I’ll tell you why…it’s because he’s a crap chairman with low standards! Of course I’m pissed off at Souness for falling out with our players. That’s something I predicted would happen when he got appointed, but Craig Bellamy showed disgraceful attitude. What on earth was Souness meant to do? Do you think Wenger, Mourinho, Ferguson would put up with a moron like Bellamy?!! Bellamy didn’t behave like a professional, you know. Once again, it’s Shepherd to blame. Why? Because he should have known Souness’ fall-out history before he was appointed. FS thought Souness was a disciplinarian, which he is not, of course. BTW, it’s nice to see you backing a non-NUFC player who was loving watching us get beat against Man Utd in the cup-semi. It was his fitness that let him down, not the style of his play. Henry dosen’t "get into the physical" part of the game either. BTW, I see you’ve ignored my point about treating players differently. I would appreciate an answer, if you think you know what you’re talking about. So, I’ll repeat it again- Why do you blame Souness for Nicky Butt not giving 100% and playing badly, but when it’s Kluivert, you blame him?(Fatty K) Double standards, mate. Try to get your opinions in order first. It’s hard to take anybody’s opinion seriously when they’re mixed-up like that. 20285 Is Paddy K your rent boy ? You obviously don't watch too much of Newcastle, because even those who thought he would do well can admit now that he was a failure. For the last time, I just thought Kluivert wouldn't adjust to the premiership for a variety of reasons, most of which I've stated. I think Nicky Butt didn't settle at Newcastle for reasons, which are different to Kluiverts. Now - when we signed Butt, did you think he would be a success or not ? [Most Newcastle fans were quite happy when he came too, at the time] My guess is he'll pick up somewhere else and play more like he did at manU under a proper manager, unless of course Kluiverts influence ie made your money so why bother any more, has rubbed off on him. My view is based on what I saw, I saw Kluivert as being lazy, while in Butt I saw a very unhappy player whose confidence seemed shattered. As for crap chairman with low standards, I suggest you read up on the history of Newcastle United mate, it's littered with chairman who sold our best players, and not replacing them. We are one of the biggest spenders in the premieship, only manu and Chelsea have spent more. If you think Shepherd is poor because he has "only" handed Clueless almost 30m quid to improve a team that was 5th in the league .....
-
the general consensus was that we were underachieving, at the time, and finished 5th top of the league, so whatever the standard was, we were the 5th best. Now, you look back and say we were weak. Fair enough mate, it's your opinion but you can't deny the facts above. I don't think many people thought at the time we were overachieving, but whatever the individual thinks, one obvious point beyond dispute is that Bobby Robson did a damn sight better than Souness with the same players.

Questions for the male members of this board
LeazesMag replied to Toonraider's topic in General Chat
1. It's a sort of release, and amusing because it annoys the women 2. Because we think of someone we would like to drop a bomb on 3. Some men do, but they get funny looks from others 4. Can't answer that, I don't do either I'd rather sit in the shade with a beer, although I do like walking around with shorts on. -
you are the embodiment of everything that frustrates me about dipsticks 20032 You are as bad a fan, as you claim Souness is as a manager. You don't support your team properly. You don't understand that though, nor will you ever. You think because you pay the entrance fee, you have a right to expect success. The only thing you should contribute is your voice on match day. 20077 I know who you are now the other thread gave it away.....see you tomorrow !!
-
I think in his book he says he asked him mate, but Mourinho thought it was time for him to go his own way. Bad luck eh or what.

Yes, I'm sure our great physios handled him greatly! I mean just look what the Valencia staff did with him! Whenever Kluivert played, he generally looked good, better than Shearer even(hate to admit!). You didn’t like Kluivert even before he signed for us. So there was no way that you were going to make your decision on him based on watching him in a Newcastle shirt. Your mind was made up as soon as we signed him. Great supporter. And you think Robert gave a toss? LM, it's funny that you're not criticising Souness for Kluivert's "failure", isn't it? And wasn’t it you that said the reason Butt didn't give 100% because of Souness mismanagement? Double standards I think. And you said you knew what you’re talking about? Try not to mix your views for a start! 19990 the game in Spain suits Kluivert. It's what he is used to, there is more time on the ball, it is not so frantic a pace to the game, and he was used to playing in warmer weather without the extremes we have during the football season here. This is what I said when we bought him, and I said that at the age he is, he wouldn't adjust to the change and would find he didn't want to adjust to the change, he would lack the desire and not want to get into the physical part of the game here so much. Hardly rocket science. So what do you know.
-
it's the first comment, aimed at your general remark that I would rather I was right than the team won. Oh dear. After 40 odd years supporting this club, somehow Omar I don't think so. He took over from Dalglish and Gullit and a team that had finished in mid table ? Don't you know that ? Bobby Robson did well, I think most of us knew though that his age was catching up with him in his last year or so. Don't think he should have been sacked though, I still think a man like that could be used in some capacity, with his contacts and friends in football. Thing is, he probably wouldn't have accepted the "demotion". blah blah blah....at the moment, yes it is, because it happens to be the hot topic. If underselling your best players , and being forced to pay over twice the amount for a replacement with everything to prove isn't a huge gamble by a desperate manager, then you tell me what is. Souness was appointed to get this club back into the champions league. He won't even match Bobby Robson, never mind better him. It's only people like you who have allowed him to lower standards that still defend him. We are 50m quid down in the last 5 years. How do you know that isn't over budget ? Balls to Shepherd deciding how much to let Bellamy and Robert go for ? His hand was forced, and everyone knew we wanted rid of them no matter what. Who is responsible for that ? Who do you think, with your vast knowledge of the club, was responsible for Bellamy being told he had an extra week off pre season training [because he didn't want him back at the training ground].
-
see my sig for another article by Brian Reade. Best football writer going.
-
haddaway and shite man don't talk rubbish !!! Basically, unless we at least match where we were under Robson, Souness has failed. I am 100% confident he won't to it, are you ? I'm also 100% confident, unfortunately, that the club is spending money above budget, to cover up Souness's mis management and forcing us to sell players on the cheap. As for Kluivert, well I was right wasn't I ? He was a fat waster who didn't give a toss, wasn't he ? How do you know what the supporters thought of Bellamy ? Truth is, the vast majority realised how good he was, a crowd favourite, whatever the Souness spin doctors are trying to peddle now. And Omar...nothing would please me more to see us where we were when Keegan left, with Keegan or someone of a similar calibre in charge. Oh yes. Love it, love it. It's called standards and not being fooled into lowering them.
-
If he gets injured less than Bellamy, and gets himself in trouble less than Bellamy, and is less of a disruptive dressing room influence than Bellamy.......maybe you could look on it as money well spent? 19959 If he influences the team on the pitch, and we are 4th, 3rd and 5th in the league it is money well spent. Sorry Gem, the appointment of Terry Mac obviously wasn't totally wasted, at least someone believes this bullshit the club have spun about a player who wasn't much trouble/disruption until Souness walked into the club. The worse offender is still at the club, he's the managers golden boy model professional, who is buying that crap ? Oh, and Souness himself.....leaving trouble and strife wherever he goes.....
-
I for one am not too impressed with this signing, those who said Bellamy didn't get Arsenal etc wanting him, well they didn't want Luque either. But the reason I'm apprehensive is, because whoever we buy, with Souness the next confrontation is always around the cornern, and I have no confidence in him anyway to motivate, manage and put a team out playing the "right way" ie with confidence, passing, moving, believing in their ability and taking the game to the opposition and dictating the pace of the game on a consistent basis. But the money situation at the club is extremely worrying I think, bailing him out like this for his mis management.
-
where do you think the club is going to get all this money from ? You are right about Shepherd splashing the cash though, but some of us always said he did that. I don't think his negotiation skills have anything to do with it when you are talking about a pea brained manager who tells the whole world he has washed his hands of a player and puts us in a desperate position searching for replacements.
-
nah luque will turn the tide .... In the unlikely event of him being as good as Craig Bellamy, that means we have swapped 4.5m [or less] for 9.5m. Good old Souey boy. And a further 9.5m quid spent to improve a team that finished 5th...further down the road that Leeds went. If we do manage to stay up once Souey has re-constructed ... eer... his team, we certainly are going to have a huge debt due to having to spend big money to cover his blunders and mis management. Does Luque replace Robert or Bellamy ? Oh well, another 5-10 million still to go.
-
can't see the original post wacky, but what colours are they ?????????
-
Amazing how one massive expensive gamble suddenly makes us a team of world beaters...not to mention 9.5m quid deeper in the red ....... Still I'm sure Souey will demand Lee Bowyer is sold so we'll get 20 quid in and demand another 5m to replace him ..... Splash the cash Freddie !!
-
Peter Ridsdale and Leeds fans will tell you how to add up
-
8m + 6m + 4.5m + 9.5m
