Yes and No. You can't say the club during the Keegan was badly run Rob, we were a proper football club then, all the top players wanted to play for us. This was Newcastle United living up to what we should be all the time. ManU had a turning point when they beat Oldham and saved Ferguson the sack. Liverpool had one when they lost to Bristol City and sacked Souness, they had another after that 4-4 game with Everton, and the Hyssell and Hillsborough disasters had big effects on their fortunes too. I see your point, after Keegan we appointed the wrong people....but then again shouldn't have gone PLC anyway... I go with the ones here that take the view a few good results, keeping Souness in the job, then being relegated is a disaster. Because I can see it happening and think we should take the steps to avoid it. We would all look back then and say we should have got rid of Souness in August.

haven't used it yet....I did try with daughters game, ref trying to configure the sound, even though the bloody thing says xp compatible on the box... I have one or two things which I will imminently test, I would presume it works on some sort of "slomo" principle [something like that, isn't that what they called the programme which slows down your processor speed to play older games ?? I used to feel like I could smack O'Learys smug face when he was manager of Leeds telling everyone he built a top 4 team, when they were 5th in the league, and 5th when he took over.... but not so much as Souness' though. i'd rather have O'leary than Souness. I totally disagree! One of the great things about Taylor is he is totally professional and cynical and does anythign to win and has clearly been coached by Tony Adams when he was his boss. He understands that cynical players and teams win the trophies, whether its by sneakilly fouling attackers before the ball arrives so they're off balance, pretending he was hit in the face to try and avoid a sending off for handball or whatever he knows you play to win. Watch him whenever he is fouled, he ensures he gets his freekick, maybe even see if they get booked then he gets up and gets on with it, the way you should, Compared to some of pur players who do their utmost to help the opposition from being penalised and end up losing the ball and gettign nothing sometimes! 15367[/snapback] Spot on.
