The problem we have is, would we actually see any of that money spent? 9724 yep, we'd see the money, we always do, it just gets wasted. This time it will be on Anelkas fee and wages, then we sell him for another loss when he sulks later. Or Viduka, or Kanoute. Both shite.

1 Goal conceeded against an Irish Pub Team

I'm now waiting for Souness to talk about our good defensive record -
Well I've stuck 200 punches in, how many of of the 107k were from you then Leazes? My moneys on the 106k region. 9701 been doing it for the last 3 months or so

The difference is that those Papparazzis have zillions of targets in London, while the number of interesting people in Newcastle is numbered - and the interest focused on the football stars. Do you really think anybody is interested in a night out of Jeanarse in London (unless he is booking rooms in the Grosvenor hotel? 9678 True, it dilutes the interest in football generally as well. I can't help but think that Mr Jeanarse is telling porkies too don't you ? I mean, the manager has also said that it was due to him being in a goldfish bowl, then he said he may have been unsettled by his "England colleagues" [is jenas really in the england squad ?] talking about what they earn. Of course, for "England colleagues" he may have been referring to his Newcastle colleague Mr Model Professional on 80 grand a week. Which one is true ? Or is it neither. Is it more lies or what ?

it's done dusted and closed dearie. Most of us closed it the day he arrived. You could call it looking at his track record. Are you a dreamer ? Do you hallucinate regularly ? Because for the life of me I can't see how you think Souness is ever going to improve on the 5th position in the league that we were when he came, as that is what he was hired for.

we will wake up, and find Souness has been booted out. What are you going to do ?

We don't go into the dog and parrot anymore at all, we started going into other places like Yates etc ending up down pink lane area but they've been done out into bloody wine bar type things lately so they aren't the same, although we still go for now. That season had an air of inevitability about it after we lost that home game to manure. Oh well, at least we saw what it was like at the top of the table, unlike others like the mackems, in case it never happens again. It saddens me really, because I thought [or hoped] the club we built under Keegan would stay that way for a long long time as it should have done. Anyway, get the thread back on course as crawford seems to think we will soon be top of the league under Souness....

phew... <<<< round of applause for a well said post >>>> I was in the pub on the corner of ... err... it used to be the dog and parrot... when Keegan made that outburst...and the place was rocking....probably heard the roar miles away ... we knew it was suddenly a close race again, but no one thought it was weak, far from it, it was magnificent stuff. We had our bad run, in that run in, no doubt the pressure which was new played its part of course it did, but manu had been there before and much as I hate to say it, were brilliant in that run in. If only. I suppose the league doesn't lie, we were the 2nd best team overall. I only know I wish we still were now where we were then. And the whole point of slagging Souness, for me, is that we should only appoint managers who we think will can get us into a position like that. And thats looking forward....
-
It is, as you say, 10 years ago - but We have not matched it. We should not bother appointing managers who we think will not match, or clearly will definitely not match it. Because, that is the heights we should aspire all the time to. Can't quite grasp the idea that some people still think Keegan "failed", when no one has matched him in iover 70 years !

Shearer has been a great player and is a true Newcastle supporter, no doubt about it. However, if the tales of Bellamy texting him are true, it is worrying for the picture it paints. It paints a picture of a club run by a clique, and Bellamy, despite being a major player, was not part of this clique. So much for a club pulling in the same direction. It is also worrying because, with a view to any managerial aspirations he might have, he should not be party to a club run like this. If he thinks its alright, he has all the qualities required to be a disaster, and a bad man manager. Surely over the years he has played under enough top managers to realise the Souness way of booting out players he can't be bothered with is not the way to do things. I may have it completely wrong, the stories of the text message may be completely wrong, but if Shearer helped to get rid of his partner he showed appalling and worrying judgement and shot himself in the foot into the bargain, when he suffered the "worst night of my career" in Lisbon, because I for one have no doubt we would have gone onto the next round at least if Bellamy had played in that game, witness the bother Dyer was causing until he went off.

aye, those who supported Souness will be well pleased now....
-
I would shoot him in the head, seven times. 9206 spot on mate , spot on !!! Effective.
-
Shearers chance of a top 6 place, and his medal last season, evaporated when he ganged up with his manager to get rid of his striking partner. He probably realises it by now too.
-
You're right mate, I've said to people for a while that I know, if it wasn't for supporting Newcastle so much [or so stupidly !!] I would have packed it all in, sky tv, everything, because there's so much of it all that makes me sick. And it all revolves around these players, their money, and how the game has changed since Sky bought the premiership, which started all this among the top players. Sadly, there's no way back. Gordon Taylor [and Gary Neville when he takes over] will continue to defend the right of all players to "earn the living they are worth".
-
pretty good was Tommy Doc, called it the way he saw it. Hope he's right, shame there's no chance of Fat Fred taking his advice, doing it now, and giving someone new a few weeks to make a good buy of a proper quality footballer to play up front. There's never a bad time to bring in the right manager. I hope that Shepherd is looking around now for his replacement and learned from his blinkered errors of the past.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4133150.stm how would you make sure he doesn't come back ????

If they spend all their time hanging around your house I don't think you'd be so laid back, and there is the problem........ They are also hanging around because theres nowt for them to do, their parents don't know what they are doing [and in a lot of cases don't care what they are doing]. National Service would give them a direction and something to exist for, grow them up, give them responsibility, surely you can see that. If they do something wrong, there isn't the law. The law is too slack, or rather there is too many parents who don't give a shite about them but when they get into trouble either get a wake up call or pretend they give a shite. Either way, they make enough noise to prevent the law from being effective. This is basic man........
-
I thought so, isnt it a hanging offence? 8993 it certainly is

have to laugh at the irony of them being tried for treason against a country they live in yet despise... believe it when I see it though, as they will probably get Cherie Blair defending them, the wife of the pm, undermining her husband etc etc unless of course the grand speech given by Tony at the weekend is all for show and he doesn't mean a word of it
-
yep i can see that happening too
-
you can ignore any obstacles if they are Graeme Souness, Jermaine Jenas or Kieron Dyer
-
nah, that was your commie leftie forefathers ....

So far as he appointed the fuckwit and allowed him money and freedom to damage the club, yes.
