1. What sort of club have we became...to value HIM so much ..... I feel sick
2. are you taking the piss, or just after a wind up ?
3. Things were on the wane for 2 years pal. Infact robson scuppered us when he bought robert, and viana; at ridiculous prices. Not that i dont think our beloved chairman has ****ed us over on transfer money, but really SBR made some ludicrus buys aka jenas R, V, BUTT etc btw i guess by ur looney thinking, that milners current form has been caused by passing aliens form planet smoougee?? Rather than admit that the current manager had anything to do with it. tbh i spent most of last season slaging milner off, and really hes a bit mediocre alot of the time, but at least hes finding the net atmo. only mistake ive seen souness make so far, is selling off ambrose. *scratches head. Havent made my mind up about the hughes transfer. in hindsight it was a bit premature, but lets not kid ourselves he was the worlds greatest defender!! otherwise the restructuring is going well......except for lack of new striker /mutter. If we had spare dosh id also replace carr.....another talentless alsoran. 8145 If you want to put across a worthwhile point of view, start by getting your facts right [and not talking that text language]. He bought Bramble and Viana, not Robert and Viana. And Robert anyway, when he came 2 years earlier, was instrumental in catapulting the team from midtable also rans to champions league qualifiers. So you think falling from 3rd to 5th is as bad a fall as 5th to 14th do you ? Yes, we know Robson wasn't looking capable of getting higher than this but an established top 5 team to 14th in one season is some going. I remember people like you saying we were going to win the league at the start of the year we finished 5th, in fact a lot of us were at least confident that we would put in a stronger challenge for the title. Now you are complaining we were on the wane .... shame you didnt' say so at the time. Are you one of those who said a year ago that Ameobi was a world beater and the fat dutch plonker paddy k would replace Shearer....now where have they all gone I wonder. Ref the bold bit. You really think he hasn't made a mistake selling Bellamy ?? Not to mention Robert and Hughes? Not to mention putting the club in a desperate position regarding number of first team squad players ? What about 3 out of 6 crap buys so far ? Souness has scuppered us by selling Bellamy, particularly and Robert for less than they are worth. He's so desperate to get them out he's limited his own spending. Now if that isn't a plonker I don't know what is.
4. Firstly - after I've deleted all these spaces ! - Bobby Robson actually did take over a side on a downward slope, we improved from the day he walked through the door for his first 3 - 4 years. Qualifying for the intertoto was part of his steady improvement. Yes, we stopped improving but finishing 5th is a disaster is it?? Will the Souness apologists be saying he's done a good job if he actually leaves us where he found us ? You bet they will, in fact if he manages to scramble a mid table finish they will be trying to tell people he's "cleared out the dressing room and finished in a good position under the circumstances". Or something like that. Which is of course Bullshit.
5. The only thing thats silly is your complete inability to see the fuckup this man is making of our football club. He was happy enough to cite those teams you mention as part of an "unbeaten run" ...who does he think he is kidding... Deportivo are the same as us, they have dived in the last 12 months or so. That is why they are in the intertoto and not the UEFA Cup proper. If we can't get through the first few rounds against teams that finish outside the UEFA qualifying spots on other countries what makes you think we will do better against teams who are currently better than them. You are looking at Deportivos reputation over the last few years. You should look at Newcastles over the last few years, and compare it to now. That is how far things can go backwards, if you employ a shite manager like Souness. Basically mate, what you say is a pile of shite. We are out, and weren't good enough. Stop burying your head in the sand. The team we had a year ago under a proper manager might have gone through, or not needed to use the intertoto to qualify in the first place. And - if you are happy to accept such lower standards then you are a bigger arse than I thought.
6. http://www.punchaceleb.com/#Graeme%20Souness%20-%20685k try this then
7. Since supporters of most clubs he's managed will give their honest opinions you are inevitably going to find more anti stuff because he's shite!!! 7841 Absolutely. If only I could find someone with anything good to say about him .... 7892 Have you tried the Sunderland Message Board? 7896 oh aye, positive proof if ever it was needed
8. I agree, by intergration I don't mean making concessions to certain communities/ethnic or religious groups that aren't given to others. I actually think that sort of thing is damaging as it causes division in the long term. 7908 Agreed. Can this thread now get back on track
9. how are we in the situation we are in having spent the money and bought the players we have done in the last decade ? We have bought too much shite, basically, and sold players we shouldn't, sounds fairly easy but it's true and the current manager has eclipsed all the efforts of his 3 prececessors. We need a goalscorer badly, but it doesn't help when they shove players out that they shouldn't ! Especially for less than their value. I would love us to get Defoe, but can't see it somehow. When we had Keegan, it was the only time that I felt the clubs money was spent well, and the sales were good ones for football reasons and nothing else.
10. Nah, no probs mate it's just an exchange of views sorry if I suggested you were a "commie"..thats if you were bothered...!! The recent bombings may well be a wake up call to some, if there is anything at all positive from such horrific events. I agree the majority of muslims are opposed to extremism, but my point always has been that if unchecked can only grow. The "greater effort at integrating communities" point - well my view is that it is one sided, I just don't agree that we should have to change our life so drastically for foreigners, the Americans don't, lots of other countries don't either, if you want to go and move to another country accept their way of life or don't bother. But it is up to us to enforce these measures more stringently, because we are now in the situation we are due to not enforcing them earlier. I'd like to know why, when we go to a middle eastern country we accept the way they do things but others come here and demand us to change ? If the UK isn't to their liking, why do they bother ? Again, the Americans and others adopt this stance, so why not us ?

12. who told you it wouldn't, the muslim council ? Typical response of a do gooder actually. It's the same weak response that commies used to give when quizzed about western capitalism ie warmongers ! Find it amazing that you think it is suddenly going to hit a brick wall or something ? Why ? How ? An attack of social conscience perhaps ? The sudden desire to integrate ? Odd. What I'm saying Alex is I don't have an answer to a problem which is growing because I can't see where it will suddenly stop, obviously you do so what is it ? 7774 Do-gooder? That isn't a typical response though is it? I don't think this country is about to turn into the one you envisage. I do however have concerns about Muslim extremism. If your argument is so strong, why resort to the ridiculous argument that something is going to happen because we haven't been told it won't. What's all that about? Also, don't put words into my mouth, I don't do it to you. 7777 Hmmm, what was "BNP" then ? I don't think "do-gooder" is a typical response it's a genuine and accurate description of someone who has appeasing tendencies in the scenario we are discussing here. If you really have concerns about Muslim extremism, you must surely see my point, and the way the UK has changed in the last 20 years, as Rob points out [however light hearted a manner, his points are essentially correct]. So who can say how it will be in 20 years time ? My point is that this situation will be more serious if it is allowed to become so, and how can you argue differently ?
13. Far more anti Souness info than pro-stuff to be found mate ! Looking forward to getting into the Champions League this season are we ? PS I thought the mackem entry would have raised a few laughs
14. who told you it wouldn't, the muslim council ? Typical response of a do gooder actually. It's the same weak response that left wingers etc used to give when quizzed about western capitalism and Russia occupying the whole of eastern europe ie they just called the west warmongers !
15. Correct. 7762 point not taken 7764 So, you genuinely believe that'll happen do you? 7765 who told you it wouldn't ? And where do you think it will suddenly stop ?
16. Correct. 7762 point not taken. Who told you that ?
17. Ah yes "1984" - a police state where the workers spent all their time watching rubbish on the flat screen in every room of the house, getting pissed or playing the lottery (in which no one ever seemed to win the main prize) The newspapers rewrote the truth and history when instructed by the senior management poeple were kept in place by fear of a strange foreign figure who was a "threat" to everyone Bombs would go off at random Naaa............... it could never happen........................... 7745 Just had an idea, make a film called 2024... a semi muslim state where half the population hardly dare to go out at night for fear of the human rights brigade protesting that it would offend muslims to drink. Half the female population walk around with their faces covered, while Downing Street is constantly lobbied by the muslim community and human rights brigade to force the rest in the interests of multi racial harmony and relations. Bombs continue to go off at the rate of one a day in the big cities but do gooders insist there is no need to panic. Nah, it'll never happen, right !
18. We will see. Do you fancy our chances of beating West Ham, Blackburn, Mackems etc just as easily
19. what are you talking about ? We are out because he's destroying the team. In case you missed it, we DID reach the quarter finals, twice, with Bobby Robsons team. I feel like I'm explaining ABC
20. This was discussed somewhere else recently. He always wanted Bellamy, he wanted Bellamy or Eidur Gudjonssen. He bid for Bellamy a year before he got him, but it fell through because of that agent messing up the sale of Duncan Ferguson, so when he had the cash he then went back for Bellamy. Maybe during that year's gap he focussed on Jeffers as an alternative, but Bellamy and EG were his first choices, as he had managed Gudjonnssen at PSV, I think it was. And yes, we got off to a flying start the season we entered the intertoto, we were 10% fitter than others in the first few games, but he had made the two signings which gave us qualities the team needed so badly. They were spot on. He got it just right. But now they are gone, we are back to the clueless one paced sluggers, playing in front of the opponents defenders, just as we were before they came. Except this time, we have an incompetent manager who if the going gets tough, will not have a clue how to instill confidence or belief in a losing team, he'll just blame everyone else. And when he gets the boot, there isn't another Bobby Robson around to restore morale like last time either. We are in deep deep cack.

22. I've noticed quite often that if Bramble moves out of the middle to mark someone then Boumsong seems to follow him quite a lot, too much, whereas if the reverse happens Bramble stays his ground. Surely if one central defender goes to the player his partner should stay in the middle ? Bothers me a lot that Boumsong does this. Maybe you are right, maybe he feels he has to do it, we will only find out if he plays with better players, but other centre halfs we have had ie Woodgate, Howey, Peacock to name 3 didn't do it.
