  1. Why has the Brighton game been shifted then?
  2. As Chez explained last time, there are a shit load of well off people who do not give a fuck about lies or treason as long as he lowers taxes on corporations and the rich. Also the dems have once again chosen someone who they think will appeal to centrists without giving a shit about how completely un-enthused anyone remotely left wing are about voting for the "nothing will change" waste of space that is Biden.
  3. Forward 4 years and you know you'll see the same ad for Johnson.
  4. It's quite funny to see them try and scare their voters with a vision of a country which would actually be better than what it is now and in which they'd have better lives. They do really crave the freedom to be shit on.
  5. Looks like a bloke in Hong Kong has had it twice but a slightly different mutated strain. Yearly vaccines could be the future.
  6. I've been saying for two years at least that 40% of this country have become so obsessed with brexit that they've become an immovable blind mass who see everything through that lens even to the point of thinking a corrupt lying mess is a decent pm. It will take the inevitable disaster to change anything and I'm not convinced even that will work now that they've become so entrenched in their stupidity.
  7. One of the things that makes the Joelinton deal so obviously dodgy is that there's no way it would ever make money - even if he'd turned out to be a 20 a year scorer we wouldn't have got that much more than 40m for him.
  8. My car is on a 4 year pcp deal and I've had it for nearly 3.5 years so I got a call from the dealer asking me to come in to talk about options which I did today. I'm actually thinking about whether I need a car at all as its main use is driving to the train station and that use is now permanently doubtful as I think we'll be moving to a fully flexible working arrangement pandemic or not. Anyway I wasn't impressed with the options so I mentioned I knew my MOT which was due in March and I thought had a six month grace period needed booking. Turns out it was due on march the 14th which was before the extension scheme came in and the extension was only 3 months anyway. This means I've had no MOT for five months - good job I haven't been anywhere I left it there to get sorted.
  9. Ive always filed DS under bands where I can appreciate the technical excellence but they just don't stir the soul - see also Pink Floyd and the MOR version of Fleetwood Mac.
  10. There was a Singapore based publicity bullshit bid on one of the previous sale cycles as well - don't know if it was the same people.
  11. According to Independent Sage, local authority track and trace contacted 98% of contacts against 53% by Serco under this "success" of a boss - hence the "average" of 70-75%. Crony privatisation trumps public common sense even when lives are at stake.
  12. Threw contractors and newly self-employed under a bus. Also essential small businesses like the vet my lass works for doesn't get any nice reward for furloughing staff as others will as he didn't need to which seems unfair.
  13. I spent a week 14 years ago at my Mam's bedside waiting for her to die and I've been a supporter of euthanasia since. Me and my sister made a pact that if one of us is ever in the same situation the other will digitas it.
  14. I'd ask him if the result of the independent arbitration would have had to be signed off by Man Utd and Liverpool like his appointment.
  15. Hasn't he actually used the "you'd be amazed if you knew who my backers are" line?
  16. I liked the comment about Williamson saying that inflated grades would mean people being promoted above their level of competence would make Alanis Morrisette's head explode.
  17. Went for a swim earlier this morning - gym has sorted it quite well with a booking system to limit numbers. Absolute heaven to get back in the water for the first time since the end of February. Don't fancy the gym yet but a whiff of normality.
  18. Or the fact that they spent millions, appointed a good manager and still only finished a couple of points above an abysmally shit team like us.
  19. I agree but you'd think they'd consider doing some polling to see if there'd be a net gain by choosing Warren.
  20. Thing is even if the masks were fine it still stinks but their usefulness seems to be the story. Basically they gave their mate the contact details of a Chinese factory and then gave him 150m for an order that would actually cost 120m - just to cream off money to a mate.
  21. I wonder if the Reubens could increase their stake to 41% meaning PIF were to be minority shareholders - a bit simplistic but I'm sure they could work out the money later - I'm sure other corporate deals have convenient structures.
  22. Slight issue with the analogy as we can't be bought or owned by both parties simultaneously.
