  1. No different in hurting the poor than Thatcher, just as divided and weak as Cameron. The increase in the youth vote in 2017 wasn't due to tory cuntishness, it was due to a manifesto a bit different Centrist governments favour the elites and the rich, see the rest of Europe and the US pre-trump. Or indeed Blair.
  2. I agree and I've said I'd be happy to have a proper bruiser but I'm just worried there aren't any obvious ones who'd be as leftist. Maybe Thornberry but I'm not sure where she really stands.
  3. All of the Torry governments in my lifetime have either been cunts or divided. The whole brexit thing is because of divisions that have been there since heath yet they still always get their 30 to 40 percent. The only time that didn't happen was when the alternative was tory lite. That's just how Britain is. The generational trends suggest this may be changing but as I said, lose the moderately left wing manifesto and you'll lose the youth.
  4. What's a "proper opposition" then? They don't have the numbers to vote down any whipped vote and Im still not convinced going remain would make any difference. On polls you have to accept that about 40% of this country are either proper tories or brexit enough that they'll vote for them no matter what. A more competent leader might make a marginal difference but if they go Blairite they'll lose most of the motivated youth who've joined. We'd then be back to relying on the mood of centrists with nothing even vaguely left wing considered. By the way do you think Milliband or Kinnock were effective oppositions? If so how?
  5. Cynical but plausible tweet from Frankie Boyle suggesting the wreath thing is one of a pile they have which are being kept for the election which they've dipped into because Johnson is in trouble. Being a naive/principled former non-entity unfortunately means there's more shit like this to come.
  6. Karma for trying to use him to skive off work. Edit: I realised that read horribly - I meant it pisstakingly
  7. I've tried to put the coverage on three times now but keep having to switch off because of the shite Shola's coming out with.
  8. I remember people using coloured in the 70s quite nastily in general and the association with apartheid classification certainly makes it bad from a historical perspective - it's the rehabilitation by simply using "of" that confuses me.
  9. Still never seen an explanation of why "women of colour" is right on but "coloured women" is heinous beyond the "N" word.
  10. Anyone doing that in 2018 is what's fucking appalling.
  11. Unless a takeover is imminent (yeah, right), I can't help feeling we'd be better off in the medium term if Rafa left now and we had a shitshow zombie disaster of a season under Lambert or some cunt like that - at least bring things to a proper head instead of a death march.
  12. Just read that the person who compared Israel to Nazis at Corbyn's "conference" was an Auschwitz survivor whose parents died there.
  13. There are displaced "tribes" who've been shit upon and usurped from their natural territories all around the world. I think the Jews think they have a special case due to their "divine right" definition. I have no problem in saying that makes their case less viable in my opinion but its their treatment of Palestinians even to this day that should make people more courageous in speaking out against them. I also think considering what happened to them, such an easy attitude to oppression is hard to take as well. Of course making that allusion isnt allowed either.
  14. I caught a brief bit of an interview with one of the editors of the Jewish newspapers who stated that criticism of the new law was antisemitic as far as he was concerned.
  15. One of the guidelines is that it's antisemitic to call Israel a racist state. They just passed a law that states that Israel is a Jewish state for Jews which would have the south African apartheid regime nodding approvingly. If you point this out you break those guidelines. As I've said before some people's support and sympathy for Palestinians has gone too far but this is an attempt to ensure that the slightest criticism of Israel is a disciplinary matter in order to get at Corbyn. All the other governments and organisations that agree to those guidelines are ones that wouldn't dream of saying anything against Israel so its a no brainer for them.
  16. The standards that stop any debate on Israel?
  17. Isn't this just numbers? Four or five rebels aside, if they can't beat the number of tory MPs with all their MPs voting- especially when their so called rebels don't actually rebel - what can they actually do?
  18. Probably part of the group that tweeted that the Palestinians who were massacred a couple of months ago asked for it then deleted it. THing is if they sign up to this standard definition, the second someone say's anything against Israel no matter how justified they're fucked. (In reply to CT's shit stirring)
  19. Even tonight he said "it was Russia, could have been others as well though" i know we haven't got the right to talk when it comes to constitutions but they seem over proud of theirs with this "checks and balances" thing - he's appointed one, possibly two supreme court judges and with both houses being Republican, those checks and balances are pretty much void. Even if the senate went say 55-45 to the Democrats in November which is a huge stretch they'd still be short of the impeachment figure and there's no way the cunt would be as "honourable" as Nixon and resign even if Mueller has him cold.
  20. No one would like to see them jailed more than me but it isn't going to happen and fining rich people the amounts they can is pointless too. Declaring the result void is a non-starter on the money question. I get the impression the commission isnt really valid in the 21st century.
  21. I know the overspending thing is against the rules but I'm not that bothered by a couple of hundred grand. The Russian / Cambridge Analtyica stuff on the other had should be investigated to fuck.
  22. I'm starting to think no deal might be better for a decent future - no flights, food shortages, factory shutdowns and gridlocked Kent might have the effect of waking people up from this imbecilic stupor.
  23. Saw his helicopter convoy pass a little while ago - had a moment's fantasy of Ashley defying the no fly and a beautiful, fiery meeting taking place.
