Or ask you to take one or the others side in an argument.

I find the idea of it being "easy" and all of a group finding work to be a bit implausible - most of my mates did get jobs (though not easily) and one or two did not for a long period. You may have been lucky enough on a small peer group level but not noticing how it was in general suggests more of a dreamy nostalgia on your part than overly bleak on mine. (BTW I still think you're okay in general - its just when it comes to politics that you're an arse )

Depends on the species/family - we should only really compare us with other great apes and primates. Gorillas tend to have a small number of "wives" though more than one whereas chimps are a lot more free within a "tribe".
-
Studies suggest we are generally monogamous but that that instinct is skewed by wealth and power - ie if you have either or both we tend to see polgyamy as more "natural".

If you left school in 81 in ST and thought it was a land of opportunity then you are even more of a head in the clouds, blind, selfish cunt than I thought - which is some achievement.

Supposedly 50% are in favour and obviously a lot of those against will be Republicans. However it might backfire with a lot of his black Christian supporters which is why he's treading carefully.

Blair is more or less her son in political terms but on the prospects front he provided 100% employment compared with her. "Old woman" implies humanity so doesn't apply.

It happens to me too - mentioned it a couple of times - definitely one click.

This is so far beyond even a sad level of geekiness but I still remember a BBS reader we used at work 20 years ago called QModem Pro which just worked with absolutely no hassle whatsoever - something which set it apart from so much software around at the time (including fuck off expemsive stuff) by a huge margin. Now I'd say VLC is pretty good.

Well barring miracles it looks like its 5th at worst.

1-0 - Nah - still wrong.

3 points behind with a vastly better GD.

Anyway anyone else feeling slightly nauseous at having to hope the Scouse cunts win?

Blackburn do have a decent history in a 19th century Mackem style so I think that counts for something although I agree with the merit view. Thing is the towns around there are quite isolated and insular and a lot of them had their own teams ( or maybe an RL team which fulfills the same purpose) which might explain the small fanbase - the proportion of immigrants post war hasn't helped their football cause either. At the moment I think there are enough teams coimg up/going down to satisfy both views that teams like Leeds and Sheff Wed can get "back where they belong" but at the same time Reading, Wigan and Swansea etc can get there on merit and enjoy it.

Well I'm looking forward to the Avengers despite thinking Thor was patchy and switching Captain America off half way through because I was bored. I do however trust Joss Whedon.

I saw Mark Hughes talking about looking at QPRs fixtures when he came which I've always been in two minds about as it can easily go wrong (see us Vs Wigan) but the time for Blackburn to go shit or bust wasn't tonight it was against Spurs and that's why I have little sympathy for them. I'm all for do or die support but if they had won tonight did they really think Chelsea was a starter? - I think the fans knew the answer to that so had resigned themselves to it anyway so thought the club was best served by voicing dissent. In some ways Stevie's right - Kean was in a bad position but I think it was his view that Kean actually did have a clue what he was doing in spite of the shite off the pitch that rankled Billy. Maybe its now a case of relegation being a good thing in the same way that I thought ours was at the time in that it will rid them of the owners and they can start afresh - though that might be more of a struggle than it would have been for us.

Presumably he would have been sacked anyway so don't see the point of getting at him now.

Plus all the Irish/Norwegians.

I was only a kid at the time but the way it gets dragged up every fucking year stokes the fires.

Fuck off Hereford and never come back.

The story prompted me to catch up on some stuff from there the other day which was fine but I've just tried to go there and Virgin have implemented the ban. Went to ISOHunt instead and found what I wanted in 2 secs. I honestly despair at how basically fucking stupid the so called intelligentsia and "leaders of men" really are sometimes.

No vids but some random ones not mentioned (I think) MacDonald Versus Leicester in about 75 - one of the few occasions as a kid I was in the Leazes and was right in line with it - typical thunderbolt. Waddle versus Blackburn in 84 - curler with the outside of his foot. Varadi versus Charlton - ran from almost the length of the field Beardsley versus Pompey - because of the view I didn't see the final dummy on the line until later but fucking hell what a goal. McGhee versus Bradford - I remember it being sweeter as they'd "parked the bus" to use the topical phrase to a horrendous degree and a fantastic late winner was such a victory for football. Beardsley versus Everton first time around - Messi-eqsue start from a standing position and tap the ball from one fooot to the other to beat 2 or 3 men while getting faster before rifiling it into the bottom corner. Beardsley versus Boro in 84. Cole versus Chelsea - left-footed screamer. Cole's 40th - relatively simple round the keepr but the significance made it great. Mathie versus Sheff Wed - I don't care what anyone says I think it was meant and if Cantona had scored it, it would have been shown every day for a year. Bearsdley versus Sheff Wed almost from the byline - Trevor Francis' jealous dismissal of it as a fluke is why I despise him with more than the usual vitriol reserved for run of the mill pricks. Might do more later.

Just seen the goals - alcohol allowing I'm off for a wank. (Makes the Mackem bitterness even sweeter).

It happens to me as well. (Firefox, Windows 7)
