  1. Yes because the pouch makes it a purse.
  2. See the OP. I think change pouches are right up there with soft leather man bags and umbrellas as the gayest things on the planet.
  3. This is the fruition of the coppers plan now - aided and abetted by the chron they can get some banning orders in. They still cannot answer how the fight was pre-planned when everyone on that train thought it wasn't stopping at Newcastle - the whole thing was a setup and the Mackems played completely into their hands.
  4. They are one and the same, article suggests that the overdraft facility is £40m of which we are currently utilising £20m and Barclays have a limit for Championship clubs of £10m. This goes back to the "if he's struggling for a final 10m...." point - I do agree with the points made about someone who may have/has a clue rather than Ashley but it doesn't bode well for any signings in the next week.
  5. That's what I said on another thread and its alluded to by .COM - just having a different person unwilling or unable to spend any money is no change at all. The only hope is that Moat has some future investment streams with the best case being having to wait until January.
  6. I was on a training placement in Birmingham at the time and got the train up for that and met 3 Birmingham fans who didn't have a game that day and decided to go to ours for a laugh - I got off the train at 11:30 already blind drunk and them took them on a tour of the city (read pubs). Probably the drunkest I've ever been at a game and could never remember anything about it.
  7. That Liverpool game was the equivalent of Burnley beating Man U - things like that were the highlight of the era.
  8. I don't really see the point in a sale if it means another 2 or 3 first teamers leave (though Ashley would probably sell them if he stays) - I think if Moat takes over with an agenda of cost cutting and cheap/loan signings then I honestly fear we could be relegated again - no matter who the manager is. I think we're completely screwed.

Seems strange to me - I read an article about transsexuals which informed me that an assumption I'd made was wrong in that a simple view of chromosones being XX or XY defining sex is not as clearcut as I thought - it is possible for XY people to be fertile females and for XX people to be male. Bearing that in mind I would have thought that the "obvious" way of checking is more foolproof so I can't see what the medical test would involve. Anyone remeber that Czheck "lass" Kratochvilova a few years ago?
  10. Strange band for me - I've tried to listen to a couple of their albums but have always given up but when my player is on random and anyone of their songs come up I always seem to enjoy it and vow to give them another go. Shame about the drummer though.
  11. Absolutely - its a cliche but there are sensible people/deluded idiots everywhere of every colour.
  12. The opinions of 'casual readers from other clubs' doesn't bother me one bit. What does is the media are lovingly portraying us as deluded, out of touch, and that 'we're too big for the CCC', etc.... Whilst most of us are doing our level best to dispell that bollocks, sad cases like Stevie are just fuelling it! Being democratic/truthful many, many of our fans do think like that. You can try and dispel it by all means but it won't completely go away and sometimes you need an occasional rant to counter some of the "sensibleness". As an aside I was also thinking this morning why I've always hated Sheff Wed - probably the worst football murdering team I've ever seen under Wilkinson in 83/84.
  13. I enjoy Stevie's OTT assessments of other clubs - most of the times he has more than a grain of truth. This might sound a bit "local board for local people" ish but I don't see why we should have to temper our opinions based on upsetting casual readers from other clubs - if they can't take it then fuck them.
  14. Always thought they were a bit schizo - some shit crowds given the size (despite 2 teams) but also some decent hardcore crowds in the third division. They did used to bring a shit load in the mid 80s - only Chelsea ever brought a similar number (for non-mackem teams) iirc.
  15. In my youth (well early career) I was responsible for the banking arrangements for British Gas Northern, as was, and dealt with the Barclays corporate bods day to day, who were also NUFC's bankers, they (Barclays centrally) definitely were going to pull the plug mid-80's (pre Halls) and it was only strong lobbying (panic) from the local Barclays business hierarchy that prevented it,(as in how many branches do you want burnt down etc) it was a VERY close run thing. I have no reason to doubt they'd have threatened the same in the 90's. Interesting. My thoughts at the time were that if the worst came to pass, we could have just done a Boro anyway - Hall's talk of the club ceasing to exist was bollocks imo.
  16. It seems strange that the Journal article this morning referred to "extensive player recruitment" if Moat succeeds - so what does he need a loan for then?
  17. This reminds me of when Hall claimed how Barclays were going to close the club for the sake of £6m in about 1990 or 91 - firstly I don't believe a bank would be that stupid from a marketing pov and secondly surely "success" for the club is the best chance for the bank to recover or make money.
  18. I don't think theres anything wrong with being pleased for Shola on a personal level as part of the overall victory feel good factor while still thinking he is fucking shit and he will never be anything else. This was his usual decent game once in a blue moon (there may be a couple more) - and that's "only" scoring - his general play was abysmal.
  19. Possibly but I think when he has played he hasn't been indifferent - I know his legs have gone but he can still sometimes do a job imo.
  20. Despite my comments I do agree - his defending is a lot better and I think Campbell will do wonders for him - I'm just pointing out his passing/crossing still needs a fair bit of work.
  21. Too many go wrong for my liking - I'll admit he has improved a bit on the not passing to an opposition player who's in the way of his target stakes but I noticed a few yesterday where he played the ball out by rolling it too close to the line. I have nothing against a player trying to pick people out but I think he needs to play it a bit simpler more often.
  22. I'm hoping that little cameo yesterday was a way of reminding the world that Geremi is alive and well. I don't think he's that bad a player and would be useful as a squad player of we had numbers but its probably better now to lose him and get someone cheaper/younger if possible.
  23. Disagree - his defending is okay but his passing/crossing is abysmal - one swallow does not make a summer.
  24. The vitriol of the opposition appalls me. I can understand the insurance lobby rallying against any proposed change but the way the ordinary people are so against any kind of "socialism" is frightening. This shit about death panels is another thing - surely the insurance companies could be brought to book about their policy cancelling/refusal antics?
  25. Had a couple of listens of Green Day's album this week - back to the "canny but nowt special" after the heights of American Idiot I'm afraid.
