Poll on how long before that statement is regretted. I'll take 14 minutes into his comeback.

The away performances/results have been better than I expected on the whole but I'm a bit worried that we've struggled in a couple of homes games whereas West Brom seem to have had an easier time at home. A couple of 3 or 4 nils would do wonders.
  3. I think there are three notions involved in sex: 1. Things that give you pleasure 2. Things that you do that you enjoy because you know it is giving your partner pleasure 3. Things that because of taboos or inspired by porn, you think sound like a good idea. I see nothing wrong in trying anything in section 3 "for a laugh" with full consent. Some things work, some things may turn out to be completely shite and some might dissolve into hilarity (and go either way) but I'd hate to think that most reasonable people wouldn't be at least willing to try.

3 in one game against a shit team at home (inc one pen) - of course that's harsh but anyone expecting him to score consistently has been on another planet for the last 10 years.

Canny assessment there Fish - what does give me a tinge of hope for this season is that we have coped with a few injuries which I though would fuck us quite well so far. As for the point about promotion or bust - as I've said before another summer of attempted sales with a last minute decision to stay on the cheap is what I really fear - that would set us back years.

I used to say the same about Andy Cole and heading - coaches have a lot to answer for imo.

I was just thinking this morning how little pleasure I get out of football now. Beating shit teams is all well and good but theres just so little to get in anyway excited about and that's not going to change given that the only "light" on the horizon is the return of Shola fucking Ameobi. As regarding Gutteriez I'll reiterate my long standing point - any "professional" player who can't hit the target from in and around the 18 yard box on a regular basis should be sacked - Hughton should have walked on to the pitch at full time and handed the cunt his P45.
  8. They'll probably try and tell you the money you've paid would be "wasted" if you stop it which is bullshit. Another thing is that an IFA will encourage you to cancel it but will also try and get you to take something else out as those theiving bastards get the commission up front. (I used to write software in that industry).
  9. Anyone read Flood by Stephen Baxter? The premise is that a catalysmic amount of water in the mantle is released into the oceans and over the next 40 or 50 years the entire landmass is enveloped. The scramble for resources in terms of the higher ground etc makes an interesting story - it fades a bit before the end but there is a sequel out which I'll be reading.
  10. Yes but supposedly the only use of the nutrients is in semen production - so the benefit would only apply to blokes. I'm not sure I've still got the range. I was talking about swallowing (I read this in the context of "but its good for you") but I suppose the range thing still applies.

  12. I still think Fission is a mugs game - the waste storage really scares me as does the "we'll think of a way to get rid of it sometime later" attitude.
  13. I remember when North Sea Oil started coming ashore (76ish?) and it being proclaimed that worldwide oil would run out in about 2020. Obviously that doesn't take into account reserves discovered since or even in the future but I think replacing the need is a better idea than scrambling around hunting down the last few barrels.
  14. Coming from the man who thinks HIV is a scam to sell antiviral drugs iirc? Do you seriously think all the world's climatologists (or the vast majority of them) are in on it? i wish i was as absolutely, positively certain as you Renton, but i'm not. tbh, i think the truth is somewhere in the middle of the 2 arguments Is usually the case in most things Classic philosophy from Babylon 5: "Understanding is a three-edged sword - my side, your side and the truth".
  15. Despite being very pro-science, I do think that the "we'll be fucked by 2050" lobby have gone too far but thats probably due to needing to get politicians to act. If they were perhaps honest and said "there will be serious changes within 200 years" then the chances of action would be lost. I still hope to see a clean replacement for oil in worldwide use in my lifetime - I think that's the key.
  16. There was an episode of House where "normal" doctors were about to start harvesting organs from someone in this state before House stepped in - it was a particularly good/bad example of "I hope that never happens to me". .
  17. Soft copy? - also as I've said before - if you regularly take work home with you then theres something wrong with the job. In ear headphones?
  18. I'd get rid while the £2000 cash back deal is on if I were you. It's probably worth a bit more than £2k (its a Golf VR6) and I know its daft but I couldn't trade it in for a shitty new car.
  19. I'm as clueless on this as you LM - I've had the same car for 12 years and its got at least another 2 or 3 years in it. I was talking about this at work the other day - given I drive mainly to the train station or town and back, I may as well buy a smart car or a scooter when the time comes.
  20. I watched the second X-files film last night. I used to be a fan of the series until it lost its way imo about half way through but just decided to watch this for nostalgia's sake. It wasn't bad but the religious elements of it jarred a bit - I know its America but theres still something about characters who I think of as rational and intelligent, glibly spouting off about their faith.
  21. Some people seem REALLY scared that they are on the verge of turning gay so won't take risks like carrying stuff in a bag or using an umbrella to keep them dry Decent coat negating the need for an umbrella aside, the root "gayness" is needing to carry stuff around in the first place - everything I need fits in my pockets/coat. As I've said before "special" stuff like gym clothes or scran goes in an appropriate bag, I just don't see what people need to carry in a man bag.
  22. Dara O'Brian does a bit of stand up on that - anticipating fertility problems down the line when couples describe normal sex as ending with tit jizzing.
  23. I found that a bit disturbing and it reminds me of probably the most disturbing thing I've seen in a film - the bit in the Donald Sutherland version of Invasion od the Body Snatchers where the dog has a blokes head. Psychoanalysis as to why its disturbing welcome.
  24. I've had a few Codec conflicts in the past and have always just used the uninstall option from add/remove programs. I've never went down the Device Manager route. On the last couple of machines I've set up I've used a Codec pack called Shark which seems to work fine though I do use VLC as well - I use a mixture of playback apps.
  25. Everything he says is about him - he's having a go at the Irish FA for whinging and using that as an excuse to have another go at them over his walkout - what a twat.
