Rightly or wrongly the guy was selected to sit on the bench by JFK. What I saw on the pitch last night was a spirited performance by players who pulled together with a determination to win, spurred on by the fantastic support of Toon fans. Sadly towards the end 11 men got the dege of 10 men and we were on the backfoot for the last ten minutes or more, IMO Andy C just made up the numbers and because of the forced change made us perform with little more than 9 men for the last 10 minutes.

We've got nothing better than JFK at this point in time, not an ideal situation but who would want to devote their time to an Ashley regime, not many? In the 10 minutes JFK talked bullshit fed by Cashley and continues to do so, I agree a smokescreen to try and get us on-side. I also think this is simply deflecting or an attempt to deflect the real issues, IMO he will be here for a while yet, they are going nowhere. I agree that it is a learning curve, but it appears to be very steep learning curve. With these statements hitting the media, we are creating a lot of hot air about something that might never happen. I would agree that to get thus far, NUSC and the "committee" has certainly impressed me. Maybe next-time before you go to press with something as important as this, leave it 24 hours, and if it feels right, then publish. IMO sometimes it is wise to sleep on things like this.

Agreed. My stance on this when people have moaned about the NUSC not speaking for them is that you join and you vote and you make them speak for you. They're now making statements about what they're going to do next summer and no fucker has voted on anything. This is not a good start. Looks and sounds like there has been not a lot of thought put into these outbursts. Whilst I firmly believe that a NUSC is correct and the right way forward I personally think that this is bad PR. I personally would not put my name to these statements. We should strive to work with these guys not against, which IMO is where this seems to be heading.

Whether you agree or disagree to the rant and rave and bad language, the media focuses too much on the bad things in football, and whilst I accept it sells newspapers some, no most, of these journalists are crap. They mis-report for fun and the majority of their readership want to believe what they write is true. Most of the reporting rooms in the south of england will attempt to sensationalise any story about any club other than those south of Watford. Notice I've included the likes of Manure and Liverpool in this argument. These clubs, when things were/are going wrong have never escaped the press' evil reporting. Only Fergie has been strong enough to tell them to sod off, his results dictate the pace he wants. In recent months it seems as though Newcastle has been top of the medias hit-list, but I wonder not, caused by the antics of our management team coupled with Ashley's arrogant approach to demolish NUFC. I also wonder why when the "top man" is trying to sell the club. Almost 45000 there yesterday, pretty damn good considering what's going on. But can anybody tell me how they arrive at that figure, is it numbers through the turnstiles, is it season tickets bought plus additional tickets sold, just how do NUFC count?

During that year I had exactly three conversations with him – and none of them was football-related. He didn't watch reserve matches, rarely appeared on the training ground and never took a staff meeting. He wasn't interested in the development of young players or the structure of the club. He simply saw himself as a match-day manager. When he took over from Peter Withe at Wimbledon in 1992, he was appointed alongside Terry Burton as joint manager. Burton, a brilliant coach, was the technical brain, while Kinnear enjoyed the role of motivator and figurehead. For the first couple of years it was the ideal combination, but when Burton became disillusioned with the partnership and decided to oversee the academy, any structure and vision of how the team would develop evaporated.
