Aston Villa v Newcastle United

Sadly that was so predictable even at 1-0 up and having looked decent first half.

The fact remains if we have 2 central midfilders who can't manage 1 pass on target between them we'll struggle, Barton was again appalling, doing nithing but try to concede penalties!

And yet again we gave the goals away for free. First one Carr and Duff should have cleared but fucked about and we paid for it. Second goal, all Duff had to do was stay ont he fucking post and he stops it, After that it was a joke at the back but for Harper.

And i had forgotten that as brilliant as Keegan was last time round he is and always will be shite with substitutions. At 2-1 down he sat motionless whilst we got worse and never once warmed Viduka up and brought Emre on only when the game was lost. We may not have won with them on, but i['d like the manager to at least try everything he has to win, and Emre had to be better than the jokers on the ptich and Viduka (whatever people think of him) can turn a game.

Other than that i think Owen did well with what he was given, ie next to nothing to work with, and Milner was far and away our only threat and covered the whole pitch forward and back to help out.

But Keegan has to look at O'Neil who saw it wasnt working and made 2 changes at halftime and saw his team change the game, whilst we sat and did nothing to change it back. All the top managers, Fergie, Wenger and Mourinho when he was here make changes, often at halftime if needed and often more than one, and they know what they're doing.

What do we have to change though? It's not like we've exactly got quality all over the pitch, never mind on the bench.

Fergie, Wenger and Mourinho wouldn't be winning the league with our current team (even without injuries).

So you wouldn't have hoyed Emre and Viduka on then? Ok.

Aye, good point, they'd have got 2 goals each no problem. <_<

Don't even know what you're on about now. It was crying out for a change at 2-1 and Viduka for Smith and Emre for the woeful Barton were the obvious ones for me. No one is saying they'd have definitely won us the game but just sticking with what we had was tantamount to conceding the match imo.

Noelie, even you have to see that your expectations are disproportionately high? Keegan has faced Arsenal twice, Villa who've scored more goals than all but Man U (iirc) and Bolton.

He needs a while to get players playing the way he wants and wasn't helped by the Cup of Nations taking two of our best performers so far. (Faye and Beye)

I just think you like a moan.

Mr. Fish, aka Mr. Thomas, my expectations are not disproportionately high at all, I am just very disappointed that our performence today was of a lower standard that has been shown in the past 3 games, and I think our cause could have been helped by a slightly different line-up and earlier substitutions.

I expected to lose today but not as badly as we did, in fact when we got the early goal I thought we may perhaps steal 3 points or maybe grab a dwaw but as the game progressed it was fairly obvious to me it was not likely to happen.

And yer right son, I do like a moan but my moans are born of frustrations, not high expectations. <_<

Maybe, maybe not, but it completely proves my point if our only real options are a not match fit Viduka and Emre (not so much inspired tactical changes as suck em and see).

So you predicted a 4-1 win after we went one up.... genius

I'm sure you know what he means like.

Proves what point? The options on the bench aren't great? Well spotted there. The point being made was though that changes could have been made earlier and also another sub could have been used to try and change things. Fair enough if you disagree but no one was arguing we had great attacking options on the bench, just that we had options that were worth trying.

Which you just agreed with, have a wank or something, release some endorphins. :nufc:

He tried to sign players in January though.

It all seemed a bit half hearted to me. But yes they did try. I reckon Gordon Ramsey should be in charge of negotioations yes? <_<

What's that based on though?

He already said what changes he'd have made though. Which I agreed with <_<

Yup, but we don't have match changers on the bench, we don't even necessarily have different on the bench, we've more got lose in a different way on the bench.

The big mistake of Keegan may not be tactical decisions (or not) on the pitch, but perhaps to not bring more in, even if they aren't what we really needed/wanted.

There is no inspired change to make, just more change and hope. Fergie, Wenger and Mourniho wouldn't have this team in the first place, and if they did they'd be struggling too (slightly better or worse maybe).

Well the Barnes bid was paltry, we tried in KK's own words try and "hijack" the Woodgate deal and the e mail to the Spanish defender was from a lonely prison officer. :nufc:

Just repeating yourself now Fop.

Aye, as opposed to trying to argue with me and then agreeing with everything I said, which is just SO productive and sensible. <_<

I thought you were arguing you wouldn't have made any changes though. I would have.

If you're going to be so pedantic then i think you'll find its a 4-1 defeat i would have predicted...genius!

And no i didn't, what me and a mate watching precicted was if we didnt keep it tight and conceded early that we'd fall apart and get a hammering and we did, you don't need to be a genius to predict that with this team.

We really need to be aiming for 17th place this season. If we go down Allardyce will be ranked alongside Hitler on Tyneside. Hes fucked this club up from top to bottom in less than 6 months.

We made 2 journeymen strikers in Harewood and Carew look world class. Theres a reason they keep getting sold you know!

The only 4 i wouldnt sell out of that team are Beye, Taylor, Given and maybe Milner.
