No, because it's unsubstantiated hearsay quoted as an opinion piece in a right wing rag written by a woman who is as mad as a box of frogs. It's about as far away from a balanced viewpoint as is imaginable. I'd say the same thing about a left wing publication if it was that stupid (belonging as I am pretty much in the centre of British politics I'd say).

What's the point in AA trawling the internet citing other people's right wing views any way? A bit pointless really.

I notice how its a "right wing rag" but a "left wing publication". that pretty much demonstrates your political 'objectivity' to me.

and pardon me 'for trawling the internet' as you say but i do believe that this is a thread about the BNP and how they are winning votes? Imo, this is relevant piece which states the cause of many peoples disatisfaction with the mainstream parties.

Wow, you're sharp AA, you really got me there. Showing disrespect to the Daily Mail on a message board, imagine that. :)

So anyway, since you posted it, are we to suppose you agree with the article and its jist that New Labour have been secretly plotting to inundate the UK with 'foreigners' (presumably of the muslim variety), because they hate the 'indigenous' white population so much? And that the Conservative party have been complicit in this because they are shit scared of being branded racists? Do you really believe this to be the case? Yes or no will do, let's here your opinion for a change.

:)

lovely, love discussing with you Renton.. Yes or no will not do as there are far too many grey areas in this...

anyway to answer your questions. quite honestly i wouldnt expect you to agree with the article as i believe i'm kind of aware of your political affiliation. do i believe that nu labour have been secretly plotting to innundate us with as you say 'foreigners' (and not just of the muslim variety)?, i dont think so as it was never a secret, more a way of getting cheap labour from overseas. do they (i'm presuming you mean nu labour here) hate the white population? no, probably not but i do believe they hold all uk residents in disdain. not certain if i would describe the conservative party as 'complicit' in all this but i am absolutely certain they are terrified of being branded racist.

think thats answered all your questions.

any more questions, please, dont hesitate....

So you don't agree with the article you posted.

Anyway, you would have us out of the EU iirc? The only way to stop European immigration (which correct me if I'm wrong forms the bulk of immigration). Leaving the EU would be economic suicide which is why no serious party would ever entertain the idea, it's best left to the lunatics on the fringe like the BNP.

Btw, what is your opinion on emmigration? Several posters on here have plied their trade in other countries, presumably you'd like to see an end to that too? And whose going to do the jobs the Brits won't do now, mentioned above?

Out of interest, what political affiliation do you think I am? Probably the same affiliation as most the North East if voting patterns are to be believed? How deviant of me.

hmmmmmm, I didnt say i agreed with the entire article but the jist of it?? possibly. I know thats not a great answer but theres so much to the issues involved it would be entirely wrong to just give a yes or no answer. and yes, i would have us out of the eu. theres a lot of countries that deal with the eu on better terms than britain does atm so i dont see how it would be financial suicide. dont forget, our net spend to the eu every year is something like £40 billion (source for those figures : civitas website).

as regards emigration, well youre trying to put words into my mouth there. i have no viable opinions either way on that subject.

on your political affiliation i certainly dont think youre a deviant. you vote the way your conscience tells you and thats just fine by me, infact i wish more people would be as honest with themselves. however, to describe yourself as being 'in the center' of the political spectrum, as you said earlier in the thread is at the best misjudged on your part. from what ive seen of your posts you are probably left wingish politically, and can i say that is your choice and i would never dream of being critical of it. thats just my opinion of you, if thats wrong please tell me as i dont want anyone thinking im attacking them for their political beliefs.

I find it slightly disturbing that you would brand everyone on the fringe as 'lunatics' and tellingly, its only those on the right wing who are described as such by yourself. if the tables were turned (politically) would you describe Karl Marx as such?

thats your brainwashed geek students for you :)

Of course. AA picks up on a pedantic point and you just have to back him up because it was aimed at me, you big bairn. Par for the course, just like when Fop, the most tedious fucker in the history of the internet, became your champion. :)

You've already embarrassed yourself on another thread today by making it clear to everyone on here you don't have the first clue what a University education entails, mind you've been doing that for years (Learning? From books?! ). I'd quit while you're behind if I were you. ;)

Renton. I've proved you utterly wrong once already, hence your flouty "I've not going to talk to you ever again" stance

Who's embarrassed

I think the quote is a classic to be honest, because you weren't aware of what you posted, it unwittingly shows your political allegiance despite your smart lad attempts to appear to be neutral and objectionable.

As for my education. I got qualifications when they didn't dish them out like confetti, and as I've said before, I'm now quite comfortable thank you <_<

How have you proved me utterly wrong already? I know I mentioned you in a post on the footy board a couple of nights back, I was the one who admitted it, it wasn't insulting to you (unless you think that not being infalliblle about football matters is an insult), and didn't require you to immediately post I was a wanker here, did it? Bairn like behaviour tbh.

I described the Daily Mail as a rag, not based on its political stance, but on the quality of its reporting and editorials, which is just abysmal. I'd describe all the tabloids as rags, Mirror included. Similarly I wouldn't describe the Telegraph as a rag despite its political stance. You will think this is intellectual snobbery on my part but for me its just a fact, live with it.

You've got a massive chip on your shoulder regarding eduation, that's plain for everyone to see. I'm glad you're 'quite comfortable', no excuse for being so bitter about our country then is there?

Name these European countries that are doing well outside the EU then. Small independent countries with massive resources aren't really comparable to the UK btw, before you trot off Norway and Switzerland (and btw look at the state of Iceland now). It's a daft proposition for the UK to leave the EU and one which no serious economist or politician would entertain.

You can't talk about immigration without also thinking about emmigration, surely that is obvious? So perhaps you should think what you'd like on that score.

As for describing the BNP as 'lunatics', I think that's a fair way of summing up their beliefs. Deeply unpleasent lunatics at that. If you disagree, fine. And what the fuck has Karl Marx got to do with anything?

The only political conviction I have really strong views about is the concept of secularism and the writing of a consitiution for this country, along with the abolition of the monarchy of course. If we did this, we'd go along to addressing some of your concerns about immigration ironically.

this is relevant piece which states the cause of many peoples disatisfaction with the mainstream parties.

If people read bullshit like that and take it seriously then the dismissal of BNP supporters as racist fuckwits is pretty accurate.

If thats your point of view NJS then thats great. I still think its dangerous for anybody to totally dismiss everything out of hand just because it comes from a right wing perspective tho. If thats the case then you're as blinkered (LM would say brainwashed) as the 'fuckwits' you porport to attack.

I don't dismiss it because it's written by a cunt in a cunt's paper intended for cunts to read - as I said previously I dismiss it because of its unproven sources, fantasy conclusions and undercurrent of recism typical of the bitch.

Oh come on AA - who do you think the Daily Mail is written for and read by?

I've said before I commute to London every day and just being on the train on that line into the city generally implies a "good life" by any standards - why do so many people on it need to read a paper whose main purpose is to scapegoat minorities - what is so wrong with lives that by their so called values are perfect that they need to hate?

Don't say it provides good news - it doesn't.

I remember when they ran that completely inaccurate story about the Brazilian (I think) being allowed to stay in this country because him/her and their partner had bought a cat. It wasn't even a factor in the ruling. A quick look at the comments on the online edition and there was loads of people saying they'd vote BNP as a result of the article. Around the same time the same paper was getting stuck into Nick Griffin, claiming he'd been shown up as the horrible bigot he really is on Question Time. I don't think any satirist could have done a better job of summing (or sending) the paper up.

I just dont get your attitude that everyone who disagrees with you is a cunt. are you Stevie in disguise?

I don't think you are and I don't think LM is - "cunt" to me implies nastiness and deliberate ruthlessness (and as such can be a compliment as well) which I think does apply to the Mail and its writers (and in the latter sense to Alan Shearer).

My favourite example of double standards from the Mail is when they had a campaign against the cervical cancer jab in the UK editions (where the jab is available), and a campaign for the jab in the Irish editions (where it isn't). In the words of that nice chap Littlejohn from another rag newspaper, 'you couldn't make it up'.

What kind of jobs were they?

Factory work, crop picking, plastering, and working in an Indian restaurant. Not great but you've got to start somewhere, especially if you've fucked up your education by not bothering with school. It's got to be said that the younger ones in particular simply couldn't be arsed to get out of bed, even for 3 days when they know they're on a TV show ffs!

The factory owner and farmer said they'd be ruined without immigrant labour. And the price of British potatoes would rocket.

Sounds like quite a clever programme. The vast majority of econoomic immigrants do back breaking work and are happy to...Thank god.

Was it the Mail that raged against the Brass Eye paedo programme then on the adjoining page had a picture of Charlotte Church on her 16th birthday with the headline "Who's a Big Girl Now?"?

No - it's about context.

"Melanie Phillips is a cunt" is different to "Alan Shearer might be a cunt but he's our cunt".

The asparagus farmer was on Newsnight later and he also pointed out, tbf, that a lot of locals used to work for him but nowadays (because the season is only 2 months long) if they come off the dole for temporary work the difficulty they have afterwards getting back no means it's not really worth their while. I got the feeling he also thought they wouldn't work anywhere near as hard too mind.

I remember seeing a documentary a while ago about an American cruise liner and the cabin cleaners basically worked just for tips. What was interesting was that the woman they interviewed was It think Ukrainian or similar and ahe made the point that 30 years ago the cleaner would have been Black and 15 years ago she would have been Hispanic - basically the ethinicty may change but its always the "lowest" tier who clean up the shit.

Considering this is a messageboard, and considering whom I'm addressing, I don't think I could be much more polite.

Have you had a think yet which European countries are doing well outside the EU zone?

A thread on immigration, racism, political correctness, the EU, and political extremism being so popular, on a football messageboard, who'd have thunk it?
