Anyway, we've seen enough from this England team in the past to know that one session doesn't define what comes in the rest of the series. Hopefully they can get their act together from here.

I'm not claiming a prediction, simply underlining that my call for calm was correct.

I will say though, mine was A LOT closer to a prediction than PL's effort.

And gloriously shit batting.

smith and marnus tried grinding it out and it didn't get them anywhere. perhaps england's aggressive approach was the right one.

i'm not excusing crawley - he's turbo gash

Smith and Marnus batting together is more effective than any anaesthetic at my disposal.

i still can't figure out how smith has accumulated so many runs with such massive holes in his technique, the cheating crybaby cunt.

the two of them can both get in the bin for their ridiculous leaves alone

Sensible aggression is fine. They've got Starc, but we basically were relentless at Smith and the saffer, with the equivalent of a top of his game Starc from both ends every over all day. Grind against their one Starc and have a go for the rest.

There’s definitely a logic to it but there’s a happy medium where they’re still aggressive without playing like it’s a T/20. Even if we win this test it’s going to be a long hard series for the fast bowlers if they’re getting very little rest due to how short the England innings are.
