Almost 3000 new cases yesterday. We appear to be facing exponential rise again. Universities go back next week. I think we're in trouble.

What do you attribute the lower death rate to?  It's so small compared to the initial peak. The numbers on ventilators are small too.

There's a 4 week lag on average between diagnosis and death. Also the large majority of cases now are in the young who are much less affected. The infection rate has tripled in 2 weeks which is concerning considering there willl be thousands of students going back to University from high risk places, not to mention schools going back, winter coming, and the flu season starting.

The death rate will go up, but nowhere near as high as begore imo. But life can't get back to normal.

Pie spot on as usual. The BBC should hire him at this point, he'd be a superb journalist outside of even the satire.

He used to be funny. Now he’s just listing depressing things.

There’s not much to laugh at anymore.

It's the rage I watch for. It's validating.

I still don't see how anyone can dismiss the idea that this was deliberate by China. They've seemingly eradicated it quickly and effectively and after silencing any early whistleblowers. It's surfaced just a few years after their last novel coronavirus and disproportionately effected their biggest economic rivals, whose president is hostile towards them and is up for reelection soon.

Because there is zero evidence for it from a virological pov. Plus why? China were already doing very well, matter of time before they become the predominant national power. And why would they release it on their own population? Even in China, shake your head and consider how many people would need to be in on this. And none of the whistleblowers alluded to deliberate release. You're close to the rabbit hole.

They’ll keep happening here more and more since more and more selfish, ignorant, Facebook-informed cunts seem to think not wearing a mask is some sort of freedom-fighting civic duty.

“THIS IS NOT THE NEW NORMAL!!!!!!!!!” is up there as my most hated phrase. It is until there’s a vaccine, shitlips so get your mask on, be slightly inconvenienced in Aldi and stop being a cunt.

 Fuck's sake.

I tripped and grazed my leg on Saturday while on a hike that I wouldn't have been on if the government hadn't imposed quarantines that prompted me to cancel my foreign travel plans, so Matt Hancock owes me some antiseptic, a couple of plasters and a tabloid photoshoot. Is that how it works?

i gave off to work there, i've not been near the office since march, jacked in footy/gym not seen friends or anyone since, restricted  wedding no holidays etc all this effort to keep to myself.

With recent "news" i'm now booked in for Thursday all day in a hotel conf room here, with guys from work and 6 people flying in from different parts of the uk for a "face to face" workshop

the same people i have video conferences with multiple times a week already, absolutely no need for it.

Eighty people have been arrested for Eileen's fall the article says. Let's hope they get proper justice. Throw away the keys.

'I love my dear old, mum, bless her, but what about any unexpected bills if she dies?' Sure I'll get the house but I'll have to pay for it to get done out. I'm not made of money! Luckily SunLife were there to squeeze the fucker out of her pension money for insurance. Well, it's not like she uses it for anything else these days other than buying the sun and nutting the pavement when she trips over manhole covers.'

I wonder how many people, in England,  have been caught and subsequently fined for failing to self isolate after returning from one of the growing list of destinations where you need to do so. I can take a wild guess

You need to get everyone travelling into work again just in time for the second wave

hancock was talking about the demographics of the new cases - it's mainly 17-21 year olds, from more affluent areas, so the young, middle class kids who have started to socialise again, which bodes terribly for universities reopening.

Not before they mysteriously died of the virus anyway. Before China waved its magic eradication wand. They're not even social distancing in Wuhan now.
