you're laughing about it but....

you're a new member, you've joined just before the barcelona game, you've been on a multi refresh mission that's invoked the jigsaw puzzle.

I wouldnt be in the least surprised if you're one of the 4,500 accounts flagged for 'suspicious activity', in fact Iwould say it's almost a certainty. £37 well spent.

WRONG again.

It was £47.

just spotted this in me junk mail from supporter services after the club blocked me from buying my TWO forest tickets or attempting to buy them for the barcelona game...

Prepare yourselves, club dilution of support. One of yours wrote summat a few years back about how he hoped your crowd would never turn into what he perceived us to have become on a visit to Etihad (as compared to Maine Rd). What I guess he didn't know was the way the club can operate to exclude hopeful fans, including members, in order to sell inflated packages to, well, anyone. Much discontent abides in sections of our ground, especially those where 3rd party sellers (in association with the club) manage to infiltrate home areas with folk who don't give a shit about the game or, worse, are actually supporting the away team. This, of course is a danger that some unknowing visitors only learn as they suffer injury while being dragged out, but the club create the problem then punish any of our fans who appear out of line.

The RM semi 2 years back was the biggest piss-take when they sold new memberships in the immediate lead up to a huge game and gave the newbies exactly the same chance of a ticket as established members of many years, that was just so, so wrong.

So I watched on tv, but we were fuckin brilliant... Bing Videos

just spotted your really good post.

was probably me.

I was quite a late 1st time visitor to maine rd, was for the 2-1 to us in the 83/84 promotion season and I'd have been 21. we were in one third of the kippax and yous spent the majority of the match lobbing lumps of bricks at us. harrowing walk back to the van for 3 of us after the match too after getting separated from the rest. felt like there was still bits of moss side smouldering from the riots a couple of years earlier and the locals were baying for blood. harrowing, but such was life in the early 80s.

always loved the visits to the curry mile post match at maine rd, chicken tikka lumps in a nan bread were exquisite. couple of memories...I remember a loss there in '94, not for the match, but it was grand national day. had a few beers in the parkend/parkside? pub headed to the ground via a ladbrokes with 20 snidey £20 notes in me pocket and put 20 £1 bets on, amazed I got away with it, went home fucking minted, had the winner with minnehoma at 16/1 too.

philippe albert's tremendous equaliser in a 3-3... 96ish?

went to your new place the first season you moved there, fucking hell man grim, out of the frying pan in to the fire from moss side to there. the walk up past the mary d's and the estate opposite. there was still tarpaulins advertising the commonwealth games covering entire derelict blocks of flats, I assume to hide how run down it was from visitors to the games. not knocking the area mind, we've got plenty in the north east too sadly. so a visit to the city of mancheter stadium was equally as capable of getting the adrenaline flowing too, but then I used quite like all that shit to be honest.

last time I was at your place was a couple of years back for the cup match. company aside (mr pl) I actually thought it was the most soul destroying experience at a football match ever. it'd been a few years so the deathly silent, devoid of any kind of pre-match buzz tram journey to the etihad campus was new to me. the alton towers like barriered shuffling past kiosks selling merchandise almost exclusively to eastern asian families with selfie sticks, the lack of any atmosphere in the ground whatsoever, the electronic advertising hoardings for time share apartments in abu dhabi that no fucker in the ground can probably afford and the absolute whopping thundercunt of a compere at half time who was literally the only fucking laughing at his idea of entertainment showing videos of people in the crowd caught eating on film.... backwards.

not knocking you mate, you're by far, far and away the better the better alternative to your neighbours. but fucking hell, give me the olden days to that every single time, but I think you're spot on, it is a glimpse in to our future too, and it won't be very far away either.  :(

It's already happening and has been for decades but a lot of it has been a drip drip effect.

tip of the iceburg mate. and a token gesture by the club.

ive said this before but when I last got a ticket in the ballot, bournemouth last season, I bought 2 at the beginning of the 'winners' window. I then went back in about 10 minutes before the window closes 2 days later and rough counted how many were left, I made it just over 2,500. this pretty much ties in with what I always suspected based on the chance of getting a ticket in general sale in relation to queue position. you'd pretty much always get one with a place of 3,500 or less, due to the amount of multi logins.

not the case anymore, hasn't been all this season. people including @Christmas Tree  were getting fuck all at less then 1500.  if the club want to avoid fingers being pointed in their direction  that they're complicit, then they need to start offering some transparency.

how many tickets are won by ballot.

how many tickets go to general sale.

why resale tickets which were reasonably plentiful for the last couple of years have recently dropped off the map, because I dont believe for one second that people are no longer not finding circumstances mean they can't make a match and aren't selling them back to the club.

You can't even search for singles for the Barca game now. The club have marked the game as sold out. There's normally a few pop up on game night as people can't make it for whatever reason. Hopefully they open it back up!

I was offered a ticket for the barcelona game last night, sadly I can't make it now. while initially the wife would've been able to adjust her work schedule to accommodate me winning in the ballot (i know) it's now too late.

what's interesting though is that the person the ticket offer originated from was contacted by the club yesterday via email offering him one, he accepted it despite knowing they couldn't go.

so where the fuck has this ticket come from?

is it one of the 100 from scottish schools/banned season ticket holders?

have they held another ballot for 100 tickets and my mate was one of the lucky winners?

why the fuck didn't the tickets go back in to the resale system?

why the fuck is this resale button inactive the vast majority of the time?

why the fuck can't they offer any kind of transparency whatsoever?

the entire system is fucking pathetic.

There was a second ballot yesterday apparently. I got a ticket via ewerk cos he entered this second ballot. I don't know how the people that qualified for the second ballot were chosen though. Seems very odd that all members didn't get the email.

It wasn't a second ballot as such, I was just best of the first ballot losers (I assumed they ranked us in order of sexiness).

This is what the club sent out.
