Man U have been chasing Mbeumo for over a month now and haven't shown any willingness to pony up what Brentford are looking so if we're willing to meet their valuation then a deal could certainly be done.

Pising them salty cunts off by waltzing in and signing Wissa would be a monumental 'win-win'.

Agree, dropping Joelinton for another forward would have huge implications on our physicality. There's not many teams in the premier league that will just roll over against a more fancied opposition so it's very important to have that physicality to bully the opposition into submission.

yes and i expect we will continue to line up with three CMs against the top sides but our achilles heel last season was unlocking low block defences. signing someone such as ekitike would have given us the option to flip to 4-2-3-1 as he can play number 10, as could Isak with Ekitike ahead of him. I found that quite en exciting prospect.

Howay Frankfurt, summon the spirit of Steve Parish and make them weep.

BTW if you fancy a good laugh, Parish is on Lineker's latest podcast spending 30 minutes crying about not getting into the EL.

I listened to it this morning.

The one and only thing I've got a bit of sympathy about is that it was that fat cunt Marinakis that's caused it to happen. They've clearly complained to UEFA which has prompted them to act. Marinakis is the golden snitch.

Also, Parish is right that a big club with a multi club model is not getting this treatment.

I'm just pleased their coverage of the CWC is over. They can stop being weird with that Alex Aljo lass, and pretending that it was a good tournament.

He absolutely is, but he also isn't a bloke to be trifled with and more importantly, I think he had a point.

He took measures for his club to ensure he didn't have a conflict of interests should Forest have joined Olympiakos in the CL and therefore rightly points it was within Palace's gift to do the same. The argument that Palace wouldn't know they were going to win the cup when the deadline hit is irrelevant - they were still in the cup, the possibility was there, it was on them to act in accordance with the rules.

Absolutely agree with the last point however - if this happens to say Chelsea, no demotion is going to happen.

Suspicious Suspect GIF by GIPHY News

Not really sure why it’s considered suspect, I’ve had a few drinks, but here’s my reasoning:

1. We play with one striker for the vast majority of games. Isak is arguably the best striker in Europe right now, so Ekitike would clearly be second choice.

2. Spending £70m on a striker who’d spend most of his time on the bench seems like bad business. That money could be better used elsewhere.

3. We have more urgent needs: a CAM who can help break down low blocks, a pacey RCB, and a new GK since Pope’s not getting any younger.

4. What happened to Osulah? He’s spent a year getting ‘Eddied’, is he not due more game time?

5. And honestly, what’s going on with our revenue streams? Where’s the stadium sponsor? The training ground sponsor? Even a bloody pie sponsor? We’re not bringing in Liverpool-level money, so splashing £70m on a backup striker just doesn’t feel right at this stage in the club’s development.

So yeah, that’s are the reasons why I just don’t get the reason for this pursuit.

Nicholas Jackson makes sense though, based on all of this? (if you ignore the fact he's dreadful).

He's one of those 'flawed geniuses' IMO. Has it within his locker to be a match-winner all by himself but rarely shows it and more like to demonstrate his attitude to the detriment of those around.

Not unlike Balotelli in many ways, but Balotelli was a considerably better player.

Agree with some of that if not all, I think it shows we have ambition and it is an area of weakness. It does leave us in a vulnerable position in other areas though.

We seem to be shooting for the moon and shooting ourselves in the foot at the minute though
