wykikitoon 28509
IMO We need to give Miley a chance.
Gemmill 63116
He's not an imposing figure who puts himself about though. Which is what Howe wanted vs Brentford because of their set piece threat. Miley being 1 inch taller than Joelinton isn't a winning argument vs the above.
Holden McGroin 9890
I never really said it was. I understand why he was chosen. Its the same reason I understand why Burn was kept on. Edited November 10 by Holden McGroin
Gemmill 63116
Must just have been an unfortunate moment to bring up the height difference seemingly apropos of nothing then.
Ayatollah Hermione 17238
Joelinton isn’t even good at the physical side of things anymore and if he plays too often, his body just breaks down. Miley’s ability to keep the ball would be useful atm since it’s like a hot potato when we’ve got it recently
Holden McGroin 9890
I said I can understand why Howe chose him but I don't think it would make that much of a difference as Miley is hardly a dwarf. Plus, Howe definitely prefers Joelinton as a starter as well regardless of set pieces.
Gemmill 63116
I don't think Joelinton has warranted getting back into the side after Spurs in the Carabao. He needs a break and some of the other lads need a run of games.

Multiple opportunities to avoid us going down to 10 and him getting a suspension were overlooked. As someone on here at the time said, the referee made the decision for Howe.

wykikitoon 28509
So we should stick with Joe despite him being uber shit because he give's FKs away? IMO Joe is and has been carrying an injury for time.

If Eddie Howe's thinking is to play Joelinton because he's good in defending set-piece situations, yet Joelinton is the one that, for a high percentage of the set-pieces, is the one that gives them away, is that not a bit paradoxical? aimaad22 5996
You could look at almost any player, situation or area right now and say that it isn't working. Difficult to pick any one thing but I'd start with Ramsdale, Hall and Ramsey coming in. For the rest you just have to hope Eddie and the players find a way fixing the lack of confidence all around, which even CL performances don't seem to be helping with. Miley should absolutely be played more, he's a different player but certainly doesn't turn the ball over as frequently as 2025 Joelinton. It's also Miley's lack of pace and his inability to play in wide areas that sees Howe stick with Joelinton, and really Miley has to compete with Bruno and Tonali for a spot. The Fish 12555
1 minute ago, Dougle said: Of course it fucking follows. You were talking about Eddie Howe playing (tired) players with better quality over young, exuberant, perhaps less talented players, and I was simply pointing out that Joelinton has certainly not looked some kind of massive talent over the last few games. So yes, it is relevant. It's not though, because I'm saying that Howe is relying on players who have shown to have better quality over his time at the club. So the last few games (where everybody has been poor) isn't what he's basing his choice on, clearly.
