I also think the Hitzfeld contact thing is fairly obvious, in that it's referring to the time he acknowledged the campaign, the following question basically explains that. But then I think people knew that and were just acting the bollocks. As for the German thing, no Peasepud that isn't referring to your 'newspaper', it's referring to an article from the Times back in February where their "sources" told them Hitzfeld fears how fans and the media would treat a German manager managing in the UK.
