"I haven't really come across Pav before but after watching him in training this week I have to say he is in great shape.....

....I have to say that Pav has looked great in training and by bringing him in until the end of the year it will be great for our team spirit." - Glenn Roeder

Wow! What a coincidence that he just turned up to watch our UEFA Cup game and now he's playing for us again. What a stroke of good fortune.

They must think we are morons.

Manager within 6 months. BANIK FACTOVA

:angry::lol:

Jesus Christ, this club is becoming a running joke! As Gemmill has said, the 'powers that be' must think we're complete fucking half-wits, serving up this shit for us. Fair to say we'll never get anywhere if the board reckon we should be treated with this little respect.

Given a contract until January.

Pav's back with the Toon

By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle

Pavel Srnicek has made a sentimental return to St James' at the age of 38. Glenn Roeder has brought back the popular keeper until the end of the year as cover for Steve Harper and Tim Krul while Shay Given recovers from the operation on his bowel.

It is a move which will delight the United supporters as Srnicek was a popular Jim Smith signing at the end of the early 1990s, staying almost 10 years on his adopted Tyneside before leaving in the summer of 1998.

Since leaving, Pav has spent time with his former club Banik Ostrava, Sheffield Wednesday, Brescia in Italy, Portsmouth, West Ham and his last, Beira Mar in Portugal.

Now he is back and he will be on the bus which pulls out for Manchester tomorrow afternoon for the game at Old Trafford.

And no wonder he says: "This is a dream come true for me to come back to Newcastle United.

"My time here is the happiest of my career and I still have a lot of friends here, including Steve Harper."

Roeder moved for Pav after Dutch keeper Ronald Wattereus decided he was not fit enough to come to St James' but this is not the case with the former

Czech international. Indeed the United boss told me today: "I haven't really come across Pav before but after watching him in training this week I have to say he is in great shape.

"We invited him to the game with Everton last Sunday from Italy where he is living at the moment and he made such an impact on us we then asked him to train with us this week.

"He's 38 but really is superfit and there is no way anyone can say he is past it. And don't forget keepers like David Seaman played until they were 40. Pav has looked great in training, and by bringing him back until the end of the year it will be great for our team spirit.

"He will be good for our young keeper Tim Krul and they tell me he and Steve Harper got on like a house on fire when the pair of them were here before.

"He was still playing football in Portugal in May and if we need him we will all have complete confidence in him."

No it won't, you complete mong.

That's a decidedly come-hither look to camera, too.
