Sir Eddie’s club legends v Everton - happy and glorious
Alex replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Boldon is in the wild no man’s land that forms the area between our superior urban conurbation and the inferior mackem one. He was a sofa salesman, and good at his job, but he committed the ultimate sin—and took the commission for a three piece suite after his colleague had done all legwork. Defeated in the small claims court, now he prowls the badlands... hunting late night fares... an avuncular taxi driver with a penchant for camp music... a renegade. -
I wouldn't be surprised to see Forest win tbh. A strikerless Chelsea put in a must win situation is surely the perfect laboratory conditions for a Forest breakaway demolition job. I hope it's a draw like, just for insurance purposes.

it's never stopped us getting into pointless debates before. why start now? -
Pretentious? Moi?
-
There is also the implausible but not impossible scenario of: - Villa win - Forest win by 1 goal therefore Chelsea -1 GD - Newcastle lose by 4 = Newcastle in 7th and Conference league I reckon the most likely thing is that Newcastle, Villa and Chelsea all win, puts us all on 69, but our superior GD sticks us in 4th. (Although I wouldn't be shocked if Man City were to lose at Fulham dropping them to 6th)

South Tyneside actually and probably closer to the Tyne than most on here ☺️ And it is to my credit that at around 7 years old in that horrible year 73, I chose the right patch when all around was a sea of jubilant red and white. Yes, even at 7 I was a contrary cunt. And as everyone should know, nothing ever offends me on here. 👍 (Other than XG) -

I read that as “from time to time, CT isn’t a cunt”. I thought, harsh, but I’ll take it. -
I suspect it's not far off what Farage goes to bed thinking about tbh, so I'm not sure we can criticise too much.

I do sometimes wonder if people realise how aggressive some posts sound on here from time to time CT isn't a cunt man, he just has his way of coping that, in true CT style, winds up everyone else -

Davies classic commentary for me will always be "Is Gascoigne going to have a crack? He is you know .... oh, I say!"

Off to Premier League Darts at the O2 next Thursday. Never seen them live before but love the darts and going as a group so no doubt going to be an utter drink-fueled car crash of an event.

I think we need the right sided striker and the jack in the box. A right sided striker playing at the level Murphy has been is an £80 million player. We’re not paying that so we’re going to be lucky to tread water regardless of what level European competition we’re playing at next season. We properly need another threat…
-
Also, he didn't have verbal diarrhoea (take note 'fletch') but allowed play to develop without consistent chat or stats (motson), the viewer is watching the fuckin game!
-
Interesting, very interesting!! I liked Davies too, I recall him mentioning that it was perhaps a little unfair that a 20 year period he got one cup final while Motson got 19 (!!) Also, I rather liked his alternative (pens) idea of taking pens before extra time, with the winner of the shoot-out awarded half a goal - that way avoiding the often-wasted 30mins as both teams could not just play down the clock, and defeat would not sit so firmly on the poor sap missing a decisive pen...
-
Sorry I do believe we have players who can do the unexpected. I don't think Cunha is the right player for Howe's team. I think we need a right sided attacking threat. Murphy has been surprisingly great this season, but I don't think we can rely on him being this good next season AND even if he is, we need depth. So I'd go for someone like Veiga, Gittens, Bakayoko. All got decent potential, and Gittens and Bakayoko have been playing at a decent level. Concerns with all of them, of course. Bakayoko around his defensive contributions, Gittens is pretty raw and Veiga has been plying his trade in the Saudi league for the past 2 seasons.

Is that CT?
-
Only good thing to say about that cunt is he didn’t go to the World Cup in Russia. As he stated on the record at the time “I hate going there, it’s awful” Lineker went to Qatar anyway, despite complaining about the slaves who built the stadiums dieing in their hundreds… He was the master. Did something like 20 other sports too at the Olympics, Wimbledon etc
