  1. Past hour
  2. not sure if i'm reading that right. the whole point is so that the new signings can play in the CWC. saw this on twitter. not sure we're going to spend almost as much on Livramento as we do on the other 3 new names in that. Livra to City is a non starter in my eyes. Cherki looks like a mix of David Silva and KDB in his highlight video. can't be right at 30m
  3. Aye just say that the teams in the CWC can't play anyone in the competition that they sign in after a certain date. In effect that's exactly what it is anyway.
  4. I don't see Howe letting Tino go unless we're talking silly 100M+ money. He's a very unique player, not just a great defender already but he's one of our best ball carriers and he links up play very well. If he adds a bit of end product going forward he'll be world class, and there were signs of that already towards the end of the season when he took Hall's position down the left. Another year or two under Howe will see further development, he's only turned 22.
  5. yep negotiations will continue and then get signed later. but some will happen sooner. think the window would have opened on the 6th but they brought it forward to help the CWC teams. i think fifa only allow the window to be open for a fixed number of days hence them shutting it again for a few days. all a bit daft just make an exception and leave it open. no one cares.
  6. sorry but to be honest i'm not even sure what he looks like. not dissing him, i just only pay attention to city. hence i know little about Reindeer, Cherki, Ait-Nouri. fairly sure he's white and english and was injured for a while
  7. Yeah everyone has a price. But I think our position on full backs and the versatility of Tino means he'll be considered too high an investment - even for Man City.
  8. it was just an example of how the window could affect you. All City's players, and all your players are available for the right price. every one, but i agree, i think he would be too expensive.
  9. You're desperate for this to be the case, aren't you? Let's just say if Livramento goes, it'll have to be a massive fee. We paid over £30m for him and he's since become a mainstay and broken into the England team. Anything short of £75m will likely be laughed off.
  10. I'd be VERY surprised if Tino was allowed to go unless you were throwing us some serious money, we can't afford to lose him tbh.
  11. My old man regularly used to make work trips up to Glasgow and went A69 / A74(M). He went up there the first week of January 1989 and I remember him telling us the crater was considerably bigger than the pictures on the TV were suggesting. He said the whole appearance of Sherwood Crescent was what he imagined the Blitz must have been like. That following weekend the British Midland landed on the M1 and my Mam said she was never going in a plane again! We were in Majorca the following month!
  12. I really don't see how this mini window shit works anyway. It's not like everyone is just going to stop sorting out deals while the world cup is on. Surely everything will just keep going, they'll just have to wait a few weeks to confirm the deals.
  13. You say that but lets say Livramento to City had legs. That might be pre CWC which could trigger activity for you.
  14. I'd have loudly berated him for writing that abortion of a song for the 98 cup final which he was so enthusiastic about, (song), he got someone else to perform it rightly thinking 'I'm not singing that shite'. A song that went down so well that the following year when we got to another cup final NUFC just didn't bother with a song.
  15. Ugh, that must be a horrible task. I was walking across road near the shop in our village that night and my old man pulled up in the car. He wound down the window and said "there's a plane come down on the petrol station at Lockerbie, must be an RAF jet".... A fairly sombre Christmas day & new year I seem to remember. Seemed wrong to celebrate as usual. There were dozens of "amateur souvenir hunters" who all got 6 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court. Fuckin ghouls. Some kids me and my brother knew from being at Gala Tech were among them. We were all 18/19 and had not long since passed our tests and so were most of those wandering the hills all along the border. My old man made it perfectly clear what he'd do to us if we got caught up on any of that nonsense...
  16. True, but we're not swimming in that pond (yet) neither are just about everyone else.
  17. Today
  18. Tbh I completely ignored him but I did speak to Taylor who predicted we’d win 2-1…
  19. slightly different this year due to the CWC window CWC clubs will want to get business done by June 10th. That might have a knock on effect. For instance if you were competing with us for a player you'd have to work to the same deadline. Wirtz being an example, Flushed Liverpool out.
  20. It's always the same first few weeks after the season, little happens because every fucker's on holiday, hysteria over nowt every single year. We'll look for bargains towards end of June and do real business in July when a £70 mill lump (iirc) drops from our own PSR calcs.
  21. The time to panic isn’t now. It will only be concerning if we reach the final few days of the window and there still hasn’t been any movement because then you’re in panic buy territory. We really have to strengthen the squad this time with all the extra European fixtures next season. Howe will really have been let down if they don’t back him properly for the fourth window in a row. I don’t see it happening. We just need to adjust our expectations about the market in which we operate. We’re not yet at the stage where we can bid £80-100m for a player on wages of £200k+ per week, thanks to psr
  22. They're not stopping at the Harvey Milk, all civil rights named ships are next supposedly. On the bright side it is supposed to be bad luck to rename a ship.
  23. Aye, the polis weren't looking forward to having to go, my mates always said the worst things for them to attend were cot deaths or a big RTA, big plane crash would be on a whole different level 😔
  24. Mate of mine was in Weardale Mountain Rescue Team at the time, they were asked to assist with searching in Kielder Forest for debris and remains. His teammate found a trainer with its “contents”still in it. Said it was the most depressing thing he’s ever done- lots of luggage and clothing recovered.
  25. Sting's mam was a nurse and looked after the Mrs when we lost our first baby (stillborn) she was a truly lovely woman and was ever so proud of him, cunt never even went to her funeral.
  26. loosely interpreted as.... I'm in direct contact with chris parkinson
  27. Tom at Wembley: "Sting, isn't it? Aren't you the chap who apparently used to deliver milk to every single person over 60 in Wallsend? Give my regards to the rest of your constabulary."
