I would tend use the term "cry for help" rather than "attention seeking" tbh. Crying for help armed with a gun though? I think you're probably right, and you have to have some pity for an individual that feels for whatever reason that they need to do something like that, but it's still fucking annoying. What happened in the end anyway? Did he hoy himself off? I think "gave himself up" would indicate not. Unless it meant gave himself up unto the Lord. Martyrdom beckons

Is it 20% off everything? Everything except pre-orders, e-gift certificates, downloads, games consoles, bundles and digital music players.

Which layouts are those then? Is the square one easier than all the others and is it better to try and remove all the top pieces even if you have the same piece available on the bottom layer? I demand answers godamnit!! I reckon it is yes. Sometimes the diagonal one can be done quickly as well, but the spread out one can be an arse. I'm nee expert mind.

BBC news Sounds more serious than a jumper, why would they need armed police, or say that the man "gave himself up"

Best to smash them over the back of the head with a chair or something to give them a real reason not to come in. Or push them down the stairs. Or push a filing cabinet on them. Or, well you get the idea.

URGH! I HATE you! Them 9am lectures were always a bastard like. Huge self discipline required to drag yourself in for one. I was shocked to see the number of goody goody first years turning up for a nine o'clock maths tutorial this morning. Sickens me to my very core. Last laugh next week when I dish out their spot test. What are you doing for your PhD again geordieshandy? It's related to lung dosimetry. Basically I am looking at how particles are affected by secondary flows within bends and bifurcations with a view to modelling deposition patterns of pharmaceutical or toxic particles within the respiratory tract. Ah right, what was your first degree then, life science based or physics? I vaguely recall reading about artificial models that simulated the distribution of asthma inhalers in the lung, do you do that type of thing? Mechanical Engineering Spot on. My research is totally computationally based, comparing with experiments that have already been done elsewhere or are ongoing. The idea is once you know how particles are going to distribute throughout the lung, or even whether they get there, then the pharmaceutical companies can better design particle size and shape distribution for DPI, improve inhaler/nebuliser design or try to encourage more consistent use by the end user. It's all fairly theoretical like, there's far too much intersubject variability to have a perfect model, but hopefully some of the theory can be expanded to help some. The same goes for toxins but obviously trying to keep them out. Good stuff, hope all goes well and you pass your PhD easily enough. Make sure you get decent external examiners for your viva is obvious but good advice. Pretty much know who one of them is going to be, but yeah it's canny crucial. Cheers

WHAAAAAAT?? The correct rule of thumb to apply is as follows: if you aren't feeling great, and you feel bad enough that you would reconsider (not cancel necessarily, but reconsider) doing something socially (outside of work), then you're ill enough to not go to work. I've got a minging hangover and the only thing I should be doing now is lying on my sofa with a wet flannel on my head. Does that count? Yes, you're excused.

You've got no chance of passing that! I'll have you know I'm quite brilliant when I want to be. I just don't want to be too often.

Overslept, didn't prepare for a tutorial, actually had to attend the tutorial and help out first years with their oh so difficult problems, got a bad throat, nee bait. Maybe I should just go home now.
