The save from Jeffers and Steve Howard would probably prove that wrong.
-
Here we go again! I dont think it would have been that far fetched. There must only be about 5 regular English keepers in the PL. Barring an in form James none of them are really top notch.
-
I do actually and I don't particularly rate Robinson. Harper looked terrified when he got the no. 1 spot last season so fuck knows what he'd be like for England. When I look at Harper now he looks like a poor man's Given, i.e. basically a shot-stopper with poor distribution who doesn't command his area. He'd have to be an outstanding shot-stopper to make up for his deficiencies and he's neither that nor as good a shot stopper as he was a few years ago. I dont. Robinsons confidence is in pieces and has never recovered from that air shot in Croatia. Harper seemed to command his box expertly yesterday and took a lot of crosses. The one near the end was a massive relief for the defence.

That one from Burke was going in and on another day Chopra might have got the ball round the wall. Could have just been complacency, which is a worry in itself. (Enrique giving the ball away, Colo's jump before the Smith sending off etc). Enriques ball was gash. He has a habit of doing that. He did something very similar towards the end of the Leicester game as well. He'll need to cut that of his game quickly.

You think Robinson is better than Harper?
-
I dont think we looked that shaky. I dont recall Harper having to make a worthwhile save although he picked off a few good crosses. Shame he is playing in this division this year as I reckon he could have been sniffing around the England squad. He is better than Paul Robinson.

Come on Alex , You can do better than this. are you saying smith wasn't total garbage for us in the premier league? i'm struggling to think of one decent game smith had for us before we were relegated. he was a liability for us in the top flight, especially when played in midfield. good to see he's found his level mind. Someone can check the stats but didnt he only play 3 or 4 games for us last season ffs. Bearing in mind his injuries, the distraction at the club, his lack of games and his change in role, i think everyone is being unfair on the lad. Has he not reinvented himself into a David Batty. I also love the way all those who moan about some of us having blind optimism about our promotion chances are the very ones who have blind optimism about how well Jonas is going to do........ smith has been absolute crap up for us up until this season. i'm not defending jonas either btw Checked the stats and he played 4 games for us last season, 2 as a sub. why ignore his games prior to last season? Only because I cant really recall his one other season In Big Sams team. Cant remember his position, what he was aked to do etc etc Cant even remember if he started out as a striker for us. (i do have a shit memory so someone more qualified than me can comment on his season before his injury. In parky talk.....He has emerged from his cocoon into a beautiful butterfly. How long does your memory stretch back then ??

Smith couldn't lick Battys boots tbh.
-
I reckon Beye, Harper and Taylor gave 100%.

Cacapa has to be one of them.... Geremi ?
-
Wasn't Khalid Sheikh Mohammed the man mainly behind it ?
-
Beasant always played well against us.

Wiki Read the penultimate paragraph

exactly. he's a liability in the top flight. bizarre also that he has become a championship version of makelele minus the goals Makele barely scored any.
-
Yep. He looks excellent at this level but shit at PL level. To be fair though he never got a decent run in the team.

Happy Birfffday.

What a fucking idiot That is hilarious, and this cunts been made a mod. You should put that in your rules on the rule guidance page. "if someone were to repeat something like that later on, that'd be fine too." Basically stating if that someone wants to use racist terminology when trying to be ironic, then this forum condones it. Thanks for clearing that up. come off it Stevie, you know fine well you're being argumentative for the sake of it. If you can't see the difference between "Darkie" and "Nigger", well, you should just give up your speaking out loud privileges as you're obviously guilty of wasting them. I can't even get my head around the breathtaking ignorance in your post. I know you're from Blyth but fuck me. Just incredible. The silence from the other moderators is notable. This is one of the biggest :oh no: moments I've seen on toontastic. Measuring two racist terms against each other, and the one you perceive as milder is passed as acceptable. As for nigger being a stronger word that darkie, I completely and utterly disagree. Nigger is a word used more by Americans the British people, and is used by black people as an every day word about other black people, but the rule is white people are not allowed to say it. Darkie is a more British derogatory term for black people, and in my view and in the view of others I've discussed it with equally as bad as "nigger", maybe even more so purely in my opinion due to the way the word "nigger" has almost been commercialised. Your ignorance is beyond staggering. When you started on this stance I almost spat my corn flakes out. Lets hope the newspaper don't see this, unless it's the Daily Mail you're going to join. Oh dear. In America "Nigga" is the commercialised term whereas "Nigger" is derogatory. Nevertheless, I agree that "darkie" is also a racist term and should be in the same category. Fish is digging a hole here.

Maybe he is right. -
I walk home. 14 minute round trip which leaves me 45 mins to make some food and watch a bit of TV. Saves loads of money.

I saw a fucking huge one in North Shields last week.

My favourite is a toasted pannini with pesto, grilled haloumi, rocket salad and chorizo slices. I occasionally add a bit of chilli sauce to spice it up. AWESOME.

This thread has descended sharply. I agree with Stevie on a lot of points (not all though) especially how we are too soft sometimes, especially the Abu Hamza case. I think Bush HAD to seek retribution. Imagine if he just did nothing? However his actions may have been misguided thereafter.
-
It's not so much that as it irritates me, the level of hypocrisy it brings out in people is unreal and I reckon a lot of the time it's just because the media shove it in your face, you're ''supposed'' to commemorate 9/11. I just don't buy into the entire thing. The reason its media-popular is because we've never seen any terrorist attack of his magnitude in history and hopefully never will again. Regardless of the retribution sought, it was an absolutely cowardly act.

He'll be fine in Manhattan. I felt very safe when I was there. Its a quality place. They dont have the same drinking mentality as us though......
