  1. hahaha. didn’t there use to be a trade plumbers shop on that site until a few years ago?
  2. was expecting FIFA to do something potty — but Qatar, jeez. I’m more bothered about the time zone difference for the next 2 world cups than anything else.
  3. once a good player, always a good player. that’s the stupidest thing I’ve read for a long time.
  4. those 2 mackem posts on .com had me thinking it’s now hosted by 10 year olds.
  5. it’s snowing at the moment with heavy snow expected overnight and for tomorrow afternoon.
  6. to start with I was open minded with his “I only resorted to those tactics previously because of the limited resources available to me”, yeh right you hippo headed liar.
  7. taken from sky sports: Sam ordered to win with style Rovers' new owners expect to be entertained Sam Allardyce has been informed by Blackburn's new owners that he is expected to entertain from now on. Rovers were acquired by the Rao family last week, with a £46million takeover seeing them take the reins at Ewood Park. The Indian consortium, who run poultry firm Venky's, have ambitious plans for the club and hope to make their mark as soon as possible. They intend to have Blackburn competing in the upper reaches of the Premier League before too long and are keen to see an instant return on their investment. It will, however, not be enough to just pick up points on a regular basis, with it important that style is added to the substance. Vital Venky's company chairwoman Anuradha Desai has made that clear to Allardyce, with Rovers now working to a new remit. "We should go up in the rankings but playing well is not just about winning. The way we play is vital," she said. "I am going to speak to the manager soon and tell him the fans' opinions are very important." While Allardyce will not welcome the interference in his tactical decisions, he will be pleased to hear that money will be made available in January. Desai has revealed that Venky's will be backing their manager when the transfer window re-opens, giving Rovers the opportunity to bolster their ranks ahead of a charge up the standings in the second half of the season. She said: "New players will be arriving. Money will be available. We are not a selling club now." I suppose he can always leave and take over the Barca job though.
  8. I presume Guthrie is in ahead of Routledge because of his dead ball abilities, no one else is capable in the rest of the team once Barton is out, sadly.
  9. you do realise Smith has 18 months left on his contract?
  10. why was Phil Brown at the match yesterday? He was sitting next to Barton. Hughton’s new assistant?
  11. there’s one good reason he won’t leave us = £5,000,000* = what he has to pick up in wages for the next 18 months. he would have to sign a new 4 year contract on £24k p.w. just to match that. (*based on the £65k p.w as reported)
  12. if Carroll’s worth is that great then you’re going to have to pay him accordingly, the recently signed 5 year contract equates to £35k p.w. which isn’t good enough to keep him. even so, Carroll has to continue his worth for more than the few months so far. when Ashley has given him anywhere near what he could get elsewhere, then we’ll know he means it. in the meantime I’ll presume his ethos has still not changed, with or without ‘club insider’ statements.
  13. you could be right KD, cheers.
  14. out of curiosity does anyone know of the cheapest way to fly there from Ncle?
  15. never quite understood the attraction of the 2 nights in Amsterdam boat trips: • spend the evening on the boat with pissed mongs. • get to spend 3 to 4 hours in ’dam. • back to the boat for return journey. at least stay overnight in the city for one night!
  16. he was at the reserves this afternoon.
  17. we watch it here but have to sky plus it, as typical of ITV they keep showing trailers of what will happen next all the time — which really gets on my tits. Once you FFW all of them and the adverts it is then an entertaining show. Kayla Collins rant, why the hell are all these women getting those horrible trout pouts?
  18. yeh, a good mate of mine was doing some work for NUFC in the offices and Shepherd had a 3D model of the ground extended at the Gallowgate The Metro car park was owned by NUFC in those days, not sure if it still is. The idea was to build a hotel/casino on the car park and extend the ground to the roof level of the hotel, with the road running under the stand. With Ashley’s ambitions and the recession there is probably no chance of it happening anytime soon — unless the World Cup bid is won and there’s additional funding kicking around I guess!
  19. who the hell’s going to take free kicks and corners now Barton’s out?
  20. Based on what? e.g. Milner/Saylor/Hughton contracts. It’s common knowledge they’re trying to run the club in an unorthodox financial method.
  21. I think he’ll go because: 1. someone like ManUre will offer Carroll £100k plus a week wages, he and his is agent will quite rightly want the rewards for his achievements. 2. Ashley won’t even try to match it and will play hardball for as long as he can — pissing off Carroll. 3. Ashley will take the £15 to £20m as he doesn’t have the balls/knowledge of how to progress the club. 4. Carroll will be made to look the greedy twat by the idiotic lying twats running the club. it appears to be the ethos of our club.
  22. how much of Carroll’s dramatic improvement since January was due to the previous months slow recovery from his mysterious ankle injury summer 2009?
  23. no pay on the gate turnstiles for this, don’t the club want money and fans?
