  1. it’s all about Youssef El Arabi now anyway. the Morocan winger/forward who plays for Caen.
  2. if Carroll can get offers for £20m to £25m then his agent knows* that he can get his wages trebled. That’ll be the testing of the clubs ambition, as they’ll have to pay him what he’s worth — new contract just been signed or not. Maybe not this transfer window, but if he continues his recent form, not too far off. *Spurs (or anyone else) would have contacted his agent as the first point of call.
  3. I went from drinking in the Wynn Dyke in West Denton with the odd trip to Madisons and Central Park etc around 1989 down to there. Live bands and Theakstons. Other than that is was the Dog & Parrott or The Farmers Rest. Pund a pint the beer used to make you folla through. Broken Doll ...did anyone ever sample the legendary "liquid Heroin " known as Slalom D ? yep on many occassion. I once got arrested having a fight outside the Doll, copper asked what I’d been drinking — “Slalom D” I replied “that’s drunk and disorderly then” “eh, I’ve only had a pint” “aye but it ’s Slalom D”
  4. No — it’s now ten yellows for a one match suspension, as of 1st January.
  5. wonder how much compo Rafa’s earned this year? — must be staggering.
  6. didn’t his US team have to pay for him to have a hip replacement before they could get a game out of him?
  7. as we’ve got our star man Barton (only player who can cross and take freekicks and corners) playing, if he stays on the pitch, we’ve got a good chance of a win. Tricky opposition to play against though. St Andrews is one place I’ve never been back to since the late 1970’s, the surrounding areas to the ground were horrific in those days. It’s grimness was second only to the surrounding terraced streets around Old Trafford, that part of Manchester was absolutely shocking before they pulled it all down, Moss Side in those days wasn’t that great for going to games either, but was heavenly in comparison!
  8. what’s he going to blow his compensation on this time — plastic surgery? Liposuction? It’ll take some wedge to clear that lot up Sam.
  9. hahahahaha, brilliant, as long as he doesn’t become a TV pundit anyway.
  10. His agent is Paul Stretford. Doesn't Shepherd work for Stretford? Partners THE Triple S football agency who represent Wayne Rooney have appointed Terry McDermott's son Neale as their player recruitment manager with the brief of adding to a stable that includes Thomas Sorensen, Steven Taylor, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Huddersfield manager Lee Clark, who has McDermott snr as his assistant. Triple S are run by Freddie and Kenneth Shepherd and Paul Stretford, whose severe rebukes from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson haven't affected Rooney's long-term loyalty to him. exactly, cant see Ashley being enamored by those three negotiating with him!
  11. everyone knows how much Ashley hates Freddy Shepherd, with Taylor having Kenny Shepherd as his agent it puts him in a dangerous situation — it could backfire on Taylor in the crossfire.
  12. too right, Campbell has looked poor in every game he’s played in. It’s difficult judging Taylor playing alongside Campbell. Campbell looks like he needs a long run in the team to get his form — I hope he isn’t given a chance to do that.
  13. the betting scam theory would at least explain Pardew’s appointment — nothing else does.
  14. on SSN he said much of the same as press conference, did add that he got assurances* that Carroll is to stay, He clearly knows everyone hates him. *like anyone can trust ‘Derek’.
  15. I wouldn’t. They either play for the club or can ferk right off. same for the fans supporting the team — no matter what.
  16. how come PR people write on behalf of journalists these days?
  17. he should be carpeted for that at least. Hope the lost in translation/misquoted is the reason.
  18. cheers for the insight Adrian. I heard it was a players mutiny that got Pardew sacked, worrying indeed. Lots of rumours about him and players wives going back years as well. Ages ago a West Ham fan mate told me about this and that they sang songs about it, I didn’t take much notice at the time though. I wonder if his credentials were ever checked out, or is it just a case of “he seemed all right when we were in the casino” guesswork again? How many people from this casino has Ashley employed at the club now?
  19. What does that even mean? relegation is out of the question, methinks? edit, too slow!
  20. shocked and angry here like, after hearing the Pardew rumours over the last few weeks I dismissed them as being rediculous. got to keep the powder dry about who it will be ‘on a different level’ than Hughton — for now. They couldn’t be that stupid again can they??? Trying desperately to be optimistic — as our squad is too thin quality wise, maybe they’ve got a point if they want to take the club to a higher level with the transfer window due to open next month.....
  21. unless we can find someone other than Barton (and to a lesser extent Simpson) who can put decent balls into the forwards were going to really struggle. Our deadballs and crosses are woeful at the moment.
  22. watching the guttering getting trashed in extreme slow motion because of the expanding ice is a pisser, god knows what will happen to it all when the snow slides off the roof, the amount of houses round here with guttering in their gardens is ridiculous.
