The Routlede and Tiote signing were quite out of the blue. So i expect someone, probably a winger to come in.

It makes such a difference having Jose in the team. Even Arry knew Lennon was getting nowt so switched him to the left. Watching the game today we really need a player like Modric who can cover the whole pitch and makes things happen. Nolan is too slow and covers no ground, while Barton is getting slightly too big for his boots, he's no david beckham, playing 50 yard balls at every opportunity. +Special thanks to 'Arry for wheeling out Kranjcar. We can cross that duffer off the list.

Like Tiote? I'll probably get slated for this but I'd like us to sign someone like DJ Campbell in all honesty I think he'd compliment Carroll well. I agree. I thought Nicky Maynard was very good last season and he's got quite a good goal scoring record. I would even go one further and suggest Jimmy Bullard on load to cover midfield. A lot of evidence to suggest otherwise. I think even the greats need sounding boards / someone to bounce ideas off / someone to suggest a change at the right time in a match, not to mention being a buffer between the boss and the players. Even Pardew might benefit from this. I'm not saying there is no merit to the role, just it wont make much of a difference to results.

A good assistant is imperative to any club. Look what happened to Leeds when Poyet fucked off. Leeds imploded when Poyet left because Wise was shit. We've been running without one for so long and I don't see Pardew as being someone to take the assistance advise onboard. So I doubt he'll be anything more than spare hands. Man-u have had loads come and go and nothing changes in their style or application.

Whilst I have little confidence in Best and Shola. I have even less in Smith's ability to cover Tiote. Nolan can play off Carrol quite well, so he is another option. I think the key is to only bring in someone who improves the squad. Boothroyd is no better than Best or Shola and if we do get a budget forward we wont buy a seventh in the summer.

I prefer Krul as he comes for crosses more. Forster or Krul will have to be loaned out for experience. Maybe loan out Krul to play week-in week-out.

He was in Hughtons plans up until he got sent off in the reserves. I thought he looked like decent player in the brief outings i've seen of him, he was wasn't quick, but did lots of chasing and hurrying. He should definitely be given a chance. No idea why Pardew is over looking him. Maybe he's like Bentley and gets a mysterious illness on Fridays.

I can't see Wigan, West Brom and Wolves doing much and they have similar threadbare squads. West Ham made a lot of noise last Jan and signed Benny McCarthy, so no doubt they'll buy some has been. The only way West Ham will avoid the drop is if the bring in Fat Sam, but I reckon they'll hold off on sacking Grant until it's too late. We just need to make sure we don't run out of steam. Hopefully Ben Arfa and Gosling will have the same effect Routledge did last year. If we can get a forward in we'll be fine.
