  1. I thought I'd mention it before essembee.
  2. The only real memories I have of Gillingham is them sending the Mackems down to the 3rd division in the 1987 play offs where a few of their fans were peeved that a few hundred Mags went to Roker Park to cheer on Gillingham.
  3. Our names were set in stone in a newly laid bit of cement on a plinth at Walkergate Metro about 1990 as teenagers. They were still there as of a year ago but not so sure now they've been working on a lift. Be sad if it's gone as one of those names is no longer with us.
  4. He's a fat cunt who is supposed to make people laugh at his excesses which is what his employers encourage IYAM, (I admit I haven't heard his show for a good while as Ronnie Irani used to irritate me even more than Brazil and as much as the constant shit adverts).
  5. A bacon and egg sarnie?/Bernard Manning-Brazil
  6. Well what is a good deal for NUFC and what a is a good deal for our owner might not quite be the same thing. Are there any strings attached to a deal between the club, any kit suppliers and a certain sports company? Would any linked company to NUFC get favourable terms in return for a lower sponsorship fee paid to the club? Who has brokered any kit deal? Have they undervalued the club and sold us short? Were they competent enough to negotiate such a deal? Did we take what was offered by Puma and were just grateful?
  7. Pardew. “We’ve got another window to get through in the winter, which caused us damage last time. Hopefully we can conduct our business well in that window and strengthen again and if we can, we can have a great season.” "I think we’ve been very much on the ball with transfers - if something comes along that we think is right for us, we have got scope to move. Whether we do or not will depend on the finance and whether it’s right.” It's almost like these winter windows are like some freak weather which blows his fence down and the club can't legislate for it. Don't know whether the correct smilie is or
  8. Couldn't be bothered to walk it, looked at this painting instead.
  9. You were lucky. Ditto. Half our street was getting renovated in the early eighties, we used to play Japs and Commandos in the derelict houses and jump out of the 1st floor windows onto an old mattress. I once looked down the stairway at the wrong moment and was hit by a jap hand grenade, (a half brick) which caught me just above my nose and eye. I was fine about it till I felt the wetness on my face and touched it to see a hand covered in blood. Aye, we also would have fun getting chased off the Watchie and their Alsatians.
  10. I'm sure someone like Toonpack or Phil on here explained that the 'Newcastle-Direct' the club have going on down in Nottingham alongside a Sports-Direct main warehouse is just a way of keeping the clubs costs down by sharing facilities with the sports company? Maybe the commercial revenue lost comes from elsewhere? Also, no idea of sales but as we're now an irrelevance of a club especially as the media are getting more and more comfortable just concentrating on the bigger brand clubs, I'd expect our revenue to drop as we're surely a more toxic brand especially in a recession where companies can be more choosey who they build partnerships with.
  11. He's probably taken more pics of his room than the brochure/Web page had in it.
  12. We were poor. I used to get my Dad to dig a hole in the back garden and I'd put a sheet of plywood over it and I had an underground Den.
  13. I expect some toady working for the club will mention that it's 'The biggest kit deal this clab has eva had' without going into numbers, by the way.
  14. Speaks volumes they don't announce details of the deal.
  15. Any details or links? Any idea what the club are getting?
  16. Played a great part in that as did Di Niro. RIP Mork.
  17. It doesn't matter where you're from, if ticket sales for an away game go to general sale, if the ST holders don't take them and the members don't either then why the hell should a 'general public' supporter have to shell out £35? What if it is the only game he/she can get to? Honestly, man, this club is not the club I grew up supporting, it is a different animal altogether and things like this scheme is just another thread being undone between the club and it's traditional fan base.
  18. The important thing is at least the puma and wonga logos are visible.
  19. Proof you should always check your posts before hitting 'add reply'.
  20. Going for £19.99 in a sale if you're quick. (They don't have any left in my size. For some reason traditional 'medium' 38"-40" is described as 'small' on there.) http://www.toffs.com/newcastle-united-19801982-away-retro-football-shirt
