  1. Here's hoping we've got a decent replacement and a plan lined up. SSN reporting that Shearer is away on a holiday at the minute, and of course reporting that he's the 'fan's favourite'.
  2. Here's hoping, but we're still waiting for Giles Barnes.
  3. Anyone heard anything about the rumour of two of their Irish players being caught doing drugs? (And no they clearly weren't performance enhancing drugs before anyone tries to use that gag.)
  4. Again, we only have one specialist defensive midfielder, and Diarra is significantly better. What's the problem? Faye is also a specialist defensive midfielder and there's several others who are capable of doing the job. As far as I can see we don't have a single attacking midfielder (unless you count Emre who is more likely to be away in the window than get a run of games) so that has to be the priority. If we have the chance to sign both all well and good but I think it's highly unlikely Allardyce is going to have a massive amount of money to spend this transfer window and if Diarra is going to cost between £2m & £5m that is going to be a hell of a chunk of his budget eaten up immediately. It's only my opinion but if we were to sign him I can't see us going for an attacking midfielder too. Yes he would provide cover for Beye which would have the added benefit of keeping Carr away from the team but for five or six games during the African Nations I wouldn't really be wanting to spend that sort of money. If Diarra is a better holding MF than we already have on the books, it's money well spent in my book. It's not like we are going to win anything this season, if we can improve the squad long term at least it's building. I have yet to see which creative target Sam has in mind, but if (IF!) it's the likes of Nolan, then I know where I'd rather the money was spent. We could also probably get a better goalkeeper than Given but at the moment it's not a priority, I think we need to address the more urgent issues in the team before we sign players for squad building. However if Diarra was available for a knock down price then things would be different.

    Dwight Yorke

Shame he didn't pass that ability on........
  6. Isn't Peter Kay from Sporting Chance rather than being employed by the club?
  7. Yup. And with his injury record we'd be daft to sign another crock.
  8. Yeah, that edit was very necessary. Good job. About as necessary as your post. Please, just give it up now, it really is getting boring.
  9. What do you cook in them? Ready meals for the 5,000? We use them for defrosting 25kg frozen blocks of eyelids and arseholes for use in burger production. FYP
  10. Unlikely, which will no doubt come as a disappointment. Have I unknowingly fucked your mum or what's your problem recently?
  11. Am I the only one who doesn't find that sketch particularly amusing?
  12. Pretty pathetic that people are saying this is a good result, not that it wasn't a good result but it speaks volumes about our current predicament.
  13. Well it was Taylor falling over that put us in that position.
  14. Fucking hell, we were lucky to get away with that.
  15. For fuck's sake! That was a ten yard pass and Smith couldn't even find his man.
  16. While he is annoying on his own it's the fact that the BBC seem to present him as some sort of national treasure that really pisses me off.
  17. That's just a fashion thing. They are getting more and more popular at the moment. Tramps running round with hoodies and their trackies tucked into their socks is also a fashion thing, it doesn't justify it though. Tbh I should be thankful for stupid glasses, it makes the assholes easier to spot.
  18. Ban for you. Well I did only say generally, so you're generally a wanker then?
  19. People who wear glasses with those thick frames - generally wankers.
  20. I've thought for a long time that with the right money that Mourinho's ego would think that he could do a job here, however I dismissed this as fantasy and I'll do the same with this report. EDIT: And why the fuck would one of the world's biggest agent ring a journo for Mort's number, surely a man in such circles could it find it more easily than by ringing a loud mouth journalist.
  21. What would be the point in sacking him now? Put yourself in Mort's shoes, wouldn't it make more sense to let Allardyce work with his squad till the summer and see if he's worth backing before blowing your wad? By then you might also have targeted a suitable replacement if that hasn't happened. Plus it keeps the media off your back who will undoubtedly scream blue murder if Sam gets sacked after 6 months. We aren't Chelsea where it's ok to sack a legend like Mourinho because the owner wants to be entertained. Tbh we're not that short anywhere in the squad (though it could be argued we lack a creative midfielder) so I'd say Sam has had his chance in the summer transfer window and if he can't improve the current squad above the mediocre level we're currently at then he shouldn't be our manager.
