Very true, Luque was a signing to appease the fans who aren't haooy unless we've spent a fortune. The money from Boumsong and Luque could've bought us four solid, unspectacular players instead of two spectacular failures. Given the fact that we've got a paper thin squad atm I'd expect to see a few smaller signings made rather than our policy of buying big.
-
Before we signed Luque he was never injury prone, he suffered the worst injury of his career by far when he was here and that thing cannot be compensated for, however Emre has always had a poor injury record 138825 Aye, he wasn't saying Luque is one of the more injury prone players but he was questioning the research put into the player, how many times he had been watched? whether he was suitable for the PL? whether he had the mental attitude to adapt to England and succeed? This is something Wenger puts a lot of time into and something Souness completely ignored but Roeder recognises that sometimes a player's mental attributes can be just as important as his physical ones.
-
Its clear that Luque was a panic buy and as LM said Souness relied heavily on the advice of his mate. Good to see Roeder saying that much more work has to go into scouting, it looks like he's having a direct dig at Souness' signing of Luque and Emre.

Anyway on to the important stuff, the tits. As long as young Kenny gets his cut, some things never change.

I liked this section on Shola's nicknames from Wikipedia.

137759 He's 24 ffs and has been playing for us for six years! I can't stand this "he's a bright prospect" shit, he's had plenty of time to prove himself and hasn't convinced anyone of his ability.
-
Who the fuck voted for the ginga?
-
Was the interview carried out by an independent observer like?
-
I don't understand why he would have to look at pics for research? Surely no one in their right mind would want to look at that sort of stuff. However if he was abused as a child you can understand how some of his views on that sort of stuff could be skewed.
-
Why the fuck did they decide on grey seats in the first place?
-
Sorry it wasn't a book, it was an essay which has subsequently been scrapped it seems. Quite why he would have to pay to look at pics of kids for an essay baffles me.
-
He claimed it was research for a book or an autobiography or something, got off with a caution but was put on the register.
-
So much for his comeback then, not that it was gonna happen anyway, he'd turned into a short fat shite.
-
I really do hope its not true, I'd feel a bit guilty laughing at a paedo. Tbf there's no smoke without fire.
-
The funny thing was he looked so takenaback by it. Serves the fat cunt right.
-
Looked very frail tonight but have to agree with Toonraider, he did well to be there and is determined to be back working with the ROI in their next game. Says everything you need to know about the man, a fighter and isn't going to let age or illness hold him back. If I had half his spirit at his age I'd be very happy.
-
Its been said before and I agree with it; you can't put up a statue of someone who is a. still alive and b. likely to be manager in the future. More evidence that Shepherd believes Shearer is NUFC. I hope Shearer puts a stop to it.
-
Covers it for me, its a fucking joke. How stupid would 52,000 people wearing Alan Shearer masks look?
-
Dear God they were right. http://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/57583481.j...C7C5022FB410D56 How embarassing is that?
-
If it is certain that Shearer is going to take over in the next few years I wouldn't be adverse to having him as assistant. Any sort of experience is only going to help him although I'd prefer a clean break and him to get that experience elsewhere.
-
A bit optimistic there seeing as how none of our midfielders could manage more than 6 this season though fair play to him, he's aiming high. Good to see him happy and full of confidence, it can only help his game. He's done alright alongside Moore though he would get even better alongside a competent assured centre back though whether we have the money for one remains to be seen.

134164 Not exactly the stellar lineup as predicted.

Shocking, shouldn't have been offered the job and shouldn't have been allowed to accept the job. Saying that he'll have my full support but overall very disappointing.
