It is supposed to be on general release early in 09 so I would imagine it won't be beta for very long.
-
I wouldn't say we are too good to go down at all, but I think that there will be three teams that will do worse than we will.

NEWCASTLE bosses are facing a dressing-room mutiny when the transfer window opens in January. And Mike Ashley is bracing himself for a longer spell as owner despite dropping his asking price to £200million. The Sports Direct billionaire, who spectacularly fell out with Toon fans after the departure of Kevin Keegan in September, has not received ONE offer to end his 18-month reign. Sport of the World has learned that neither of the American consortia who read through the club’s sale brochure has proceeded to due diligence. And even though Ashley now wants out as quickly as possible, no other would-be buyers have emerged despite a whacking £80m price cut. The Newcastle owner must now try to mend soured relations in the St James’ Park dressing-room. Toon stars are still fuming after it was revealed that the entire first-team squad was put up for sale on the last day of August. Persuade With Newcastle in meltdown in the midst of Keegan’s fight for more control, a fire sale was launched, with Aston Villa landing James Milner for £12m. There remains an undercurrent of suspicion that a similar situation will arise when the window opens again in the New Year. Manager Joe Kinnear will meet director of football Dennis Wise on Tuesday to discuss possible January targets. He remains convinced he can persuade John Arne Riise to move to Tyneside. JOE KINNEAR - plans JOE KINNEAR - plans The former Liverpool defender has failed to command a regular place at Roma and Kinnear wants a quality left-back. But the manager may have to raise funds to boost his transfer kitty. And that has increased fears within the squad that players will be sold if top offers come in for them, as was done with Milner. There is also growing unrest that SEVEN players whose contracts run out next summer have still to hear about new deals. Four of those — Michael Owen, Nicky Butt, Steve Harper and Shola Ameobi — have their agents now actively seeking new clubs. And all seven will be free to begin negotiations in the new year about a free transfer move at the end of the season. That could lead to either cheap exits in January to haul in funds for team strengthening or pre-contracts being signed with new clubs, weakening Newcastle for a coming relegation scrap. Interim The Geordies’ squad is already one of the smallest in the Premier League and the club cannot afford either departures or de-motivated players. There is also unhappiness that while the players’ futures have been left in limbo, Kinnear has had his own status resolved. The former Wimbledon boss took over as interim boss in October on a rolling contract. He has since had that extended to the end of the season as Ashley fights a so far losing battle to sell the Magpies. With his continued ownership a mounting problem, Ashley may have to open talks with angry stars to keep Newcastle in the Premier League.

A freeware application for the iPod Touch can turn the music player into a virtual mobile phone. Truphone uses wi-fi technology in an iPod Touch to allow users to make calls to other iPod Touch owners and Google Talk's messaging service users. The software is a spin-off from technology Truphone developed for smartphones and iPhones. The developers plan to have the ability to make calls to and from landlines in place very soon. Truphone is the latest firm to offer voice over internet protocol (VoIP), alongside Unlicensed Mobile Access and proprietary protocols such as Skype. Geraldine Wilson - Truphone's CEO - said the firm had ambitions to become a global internet player. "There are a slew of new features we're rolling out for the iPod Touch that will let users call landlines, Skype users or send instant messages. We're talking weeks, not months, before these go live." Although Truphone technology can, in theory, work on any mobile device, the firm is concentrating on devices that have an application store. "We've decided to focus on devices that are wi-fi enabled and have an apps-store. For the consumer, there has to be an easy way of downloading an application." "Our focus on the consumer side - at least in the short term - is finding devices that fit that category," said Ms Wilson. Wi-fi go bye bye The only catch is that for a wi-fi connection to work, users need to be within range of a wi-fi network. Truphone founder - James Tagg - said that the technology also worked on other mobile devices, albeit in a slightly different way. "If you were using Truphone on a Blackberry, it will use cellular technology to log into the Truphone's website." "From here you can make an international call, call a user on VoIP, or send an instant message." "Because the first leg of the call - from the user to our server - is charged at local rate, you're talking a bill of pennies, rather than pounds, to call, say the United States." The company said Google's Android operating system would be the next platform for which it will develop the Truphone applications.

Michael Owen has pinpointed Newcastle's boardroom "turmoil" as the reason for his delay in agreeing a new contract. After former manager Kevin Keegan's controversial exit in September, owner Mike Ashley put the Magpies up for sale but has been unable to find a buyer. "We had a few meetings earlier on in the season and things were going fine," striker Owen, 28, told BBC Sport. "Then the manager left as did someone on the board who we were negotiating with - talks haven't picked up since." Owen's current deal ends next summer and he could walk away from the club for free at the end of the season. "Before it's gets twisted again, that's not me snubbing Newcastle," added the England striker, who scored twice for the Magpies in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stoke City. "They've got bigger things to fry than sorting out my contract, or the contracts of Steven Harper, Shola Amoebi, Mark Viduka and Nicky Butt - there are a lot of people out of contract. "They haven't got round to talking with the players. There has been a lot of turmoil at the club and I suppose they have been shuffled to the back of the queue." Owen praised the work of Keegan's successor Joe Kinnear, who recently signed a contract as Newcastle's manager until the end of the season. "We needed someone to steady the ship - there has been so much surrounding the club this season, as well as other seasons, it seems to attract unwanted publicity," said Owen, who has now scored six Premier League goals this season. "He has come in and has had a steadying influence on the club and has done really well. "We're quite hard to beat - we've had a lot of draws and if we can turn those into wins we'll be on the right road."

You'll get locked up for that kind of thing.

I think we will stay up but only because there will be 3 teams that perform even worse than us, but we will be in the mix that's for sure.
