  3. For someone that thinks journalists are a bunch of cunts, he doesn't half like talking to them.
  4. Contrary to appearances, Joe Kinnear did not have a mountain to climb when he agreed to take on Newcastle United; as a former head coach of Nepal, that particular cliché was out of bounds. Football has hauled the 61-year-old to some far-flung destinations and while no job has been bigger than that at St James’ Park, he insists that “nothing can surprise me.” Having beaten West Bromwich Albion 2-1 on Tuesday, Newcastle remain in the foothills of recovery. The club are bottom of the table for the first time in nine years and the match at home to Aston Villa this evening – their fifth televised fixture in a row – will test their confidence and durability, but their interim manager is unlikely to wilt. In more than one respect, Kinnear has arrived on Tyneside via a circuitous route. The Irishman was a left-field choice to replace Kevin Keegan and while the situation at the club remains uncertain – the prospective sale is a tortuous business, although one interested party is believed to have begun due diligence – he has brought experience to the post. If he has an advantage, it is that surreal circumstances will not derail him. “You’re spoilt as a footballer, but I had to do it the other way, the hard way, as a coach,” Kinnear, who is expected to welcome Michael Owen and Nicky Butt back into his squad, said. “I’d had years in the top flight, played with Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion, been to five cup finals and won them all, and then went all over the place to learn my trade. It was an amazing experience. “I don’t think I would do something like that now – you have to do it when you’re young – but I’m glad I did, saw things and roamed around. It was an education. I had a completely different career from when I was a player. I had a really good start – in Dubai. Then I went to Nepal to coach the national team. The contract was good and financially it was good.” Appointed in 1987, he took Nepal to the silver medal in the third South Asian Games. “I have been up Mount Everest, right to the top, in a private jet,” he said. “I went up at about 3 in the morning when the sun sets. It was sensational. We went all the way down to Tibet, turned left and then came all the way back again. “Most of the players I had were Gurkhas. We trained at the foot of Everest – there was a hotel near and you could see it outside your window. It was an incredible place. We played in World Cup qualifiers and there would be 80,000 at every game. People would queue up for days and sleep in the street, just to get a ticket. You had to be there to see it. “Then I got my first job back home, the best job in the world . . . Doncaster Rovers. So nothing can surprise me at all. I’m quite a confident and optimistic person. I’m OK with life.” James Milner returns to St James’ Park for the first time since his £12 million move to Villa at the end of August. The winger will have no sympathy for the plight of his former teammates. “I’ve been keeping an eye on this one,” he said. “I’ve spoken to one or two of the boys. It was a tough defeat for them in the derby [against Sunderland] and with another manager coming in it’s been another change for them. “I hope they pick up form and move up the table – after Monday night, obviously.” Newcastle United (possible; 4-4-2): S Given – H Beye, S Taylor, F Coloccini, J Enrique – J Gutiérrez, J Barton, D Guthrie, D Duff – O Martins, F Ameobi. Aston Villa (possible; 4-4-2): B Friedel – L Young, C Cuéllar, M Laursen, N Shorey – J Milner, N Reo-Coker, G Barry, A Young – G Agbonlahor, J Carew. Referee: S Bennett. Television: Live on Setanta Sports 1 from 7.50pm (kick-off 8pm).
  5. Agreed, but I just can't see Obama winning it.
  6. I thought the message was clear, the bloke is a fucking knob who can't get wood and can't keep a woman.

  8. A Complete history of my sexual failures http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1037033/ A twat who resembles a blonde Emo Phillips, attempts to contact his ex-girlfriends in an attempt to learn why he's so shit with women, I enjoyed it in a cringing kind of way, a "Nick Broomfield" style documentary, recommended.
  9. Typical, of all the days to have arranged a shift swap, I'm supposed to be on holiday today but instead I'm at bloody work, covering a shift for a work mate, and could have been at home playing the arse off of this, instead I set off my download at 5:20am when I left the house. Bugger
  10. One of the most important things to learn in life, is knowing when to shut up, clearly this is a lesson Kinnear has yet to learn.
  11. JOE KINNEAR has warned Newcastle fans that Kevin Keegan’s lofty status with them may be undermined when the truth of his departure is told. And the interim boss believes owner Mike Ashley may not be finished with the Toon. The club is still in disarray, with Keegan embroiled in a legal battle over compensation after his exit in September. On Keegan’s exit, Kinnear said: “I could tell you lots of things about that. You will have to wait and see. “You might be pleasantly surprised. “You are making an assumption — like most of the journalists up here — and 75 per cent of you are wrong. “Wait until you see the statements, that is all I am saying. All will be revealed. “Maybe Mike Ashley will be accepted. Maybe he will come back and won’t sell the place. Maybe he will invest in the club. Who knows? “It only needs the team to go on a small run and people will easily forget. I am saying forget, but I don’t know what the man has done. “It is difficult. He has put £240million into the club and he can’t come and watch the team. Crack “But he could make his peace with the fans. It isn’t all of them. He hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip by the Press. “He is a down to earth fellah who loves his football. His kids love it. I don’t know what mistakes he has made because I haven’t been here to look at them.” Ashley is struggling to find anyone to pay the £280m he wants for the club. Sources close to investment banker Keith Harris, who is trying to broker the sale, have said there were no developments last week. A South African group who had shown interest could be about to return to the picture with fresh backing. The uncertainty means Newcastle are likely to again be bit-part players in the transfer market in January, to the despair of their supporters. Kinnear is on a month-to-month arrangement with Toon — but has been a hit with fans and is getting twitchy over his future. Chase If he is still there in the New Year, he will dispense with £5.7m Xisco and Ignacio Gonzalez, who is on loan from Valencia. Both only arrived at the club in the summer. Andy Carroll could also go out on loan, with Derby and Norwich leading the chase for his signature. Kinnear called on the Newcastle board to open negotiations with Michael Owen, who can agree a pre-contract deal with another club in January, which would allow him to leave for nothing in the summer. He added: “The club has to keep Michael Owen and players like him. This is a big club and Michael is a big player. “It will cost a lot of money to replace him. I would keep him here. I feel the same way about him as Kevin Keegan.”
  12. You would think with the high powered telescopes, that would be easy to demonstrate. Although one of the many pieces of evidence against the moon landings is the lack of a blast crater under the lunar lander, many thousands of pounds of thrust used in the landing surely would have blown away the dusty surface of the moon, yet in any of the photographs taken by the astronaughts show a pristine flat surface. Correct-a-mundo - what's more, with very little atmosphere there would have been no gravity to disperse the dust-cloud that this thrust would have produced. They should have been walking around in conditions that resembled thick fog - instead, the visibility was perfect. add to this the flapping flag in the footage, a strange effect in the vacuum of space.

  19. Bearing in mind that by 1967 NASA was still blowing up Rockets on the launch pad and that the Russians were still shitting themselves that any human travelling through deep space would get fried by the Van Allen belt of radiation, does anyone else feel a bit sceptical that in 1969 the Americans managed to not only get to the Moon but managed to get back unharmed at the first attempt ??
