  1. We love you dude.
  2. Brian Clough also said once "no I don't think I have had enough" Just proves you cant be right all the time. A sober Brian Clough was a genius, a manger of the like that Newcastle or Spurds could only have dreamed of. I am well aware of that. Although I would suggest Sir Bil Nick would run him close, however those days are long gone and its a different game now. Did Bill Nick win the league with two provincial clubs and win the Champions League back to back beating the holders in the first round ? He's a country mile behind Coughie, and anyone who know's their football knows it. No but he was a one club man who developed a whole new flowing style of football as well as bringing success to the club he loved. Any way we are straying further away from the point here. You said Bill Nick would run him close, I say you are wrong. Coughie's achievements put him up with the best. Nicholson's I suggest do not.
  3. Just downloaded the British GP, how good was Hamilton's first over taking maneuver of Kovalainen.

  6. I think Brian Clough summed it up best when he said "managing under a director of football, is like making love to your wife knowing that your mother-in-law is in the spare bedroom."

  8. European soccer's governing body UEFA is considering changing the name of its second tier UEFA Cup competition to the UEFA Europa League. The planned rebranding was revealed by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the acting chairman of the new European Clubs Association, whose organisation was presented with the proposal on Monday. 'The hope is that a refreshment of the name and brand can help achieve better results than we've seen in the UEFA Cup in the past,' Rummenigge later told a media conference at UEFA's Swiss headquarters. 'There has been a general impression that it has become a second-class competition and that we should get back to how it was ten or 15 years ago.' A senior UEFA source confirmed that UEFA's executive committee would vote on the name change when it meets in Bordeaux in September. He said the new name was meant to better reflect the new group stage system being used in the competition from the 2009-10 season, in a direct copy of UEFA's much more successful Champions League competition. UEFA announced in December that it was revamping the UEFA Cup's format, dropping the unpopular five-team groups in which teams play each opponent just once either home or away in favour of a simpler home and away system. From 2009 UEFA will also be marketing the competition centrally, in another lesson learned from the lucrative Champions League, and hopes that the new name will help distinguish it from the previous UEFA Cup format.
  9. Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to miss the start of the new Premier League season after undergoing surgery on his right ankle. Manchester United said the operation in Holland on the Portuguese superstar had been a success. However, it will be at least a month before Professor Niek van Dijk, the Dutch ankle specialist who operated on the 23-year-old, can assess when he will be ready to return to action. Van Dijk is one of the world's foremost experts in ankle injuries, and is a former head of Dutch Squash Federation's medical committee. He operated on the Portuguese winger at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam. Review United said in a statement on their official website: "Cristiano Ronaldo underwent surgery today to his right ankle and the initial indications are that the procedure was successful. "Cristiano will begin his convalescence under the direction of club medical staff and an estimation of his return to full fitness will be possible following review by the specialist in one month." It remains to be seen whether the operation has any adverse effect on Real Madrid's continued pursuit of Ronaldo.

  11. I read out the bride and grooms horoscopes for the day and used a bit of poetic comedy license thrown in when I did my best man speech, and did a "on this day in history" bit too.

  18. Fuck me. That one is going in my sig. Do you really mean that? Do you really think because you got a wild card to this meeting that you are punching with the Milans, Madrid and Barcas? HAHAHA That is without fail the most delusional thing I have ever heard. Bar none. We do sit round the table with them you tosser. FACT. That's the whole point of this group. Where did I ever say we were on a level with them? In fact I made sure not to imply any such thing, predicting your response. We are miles away from them. And your sad lot are even further away. When was the last time such teams as Inter, Barcelona, and Juventus were seen at White Hart Lane? Inter were at the lane pre season last year. We won 2-1 actually. Preseason friendly ffs, you'll be posting screen-shots from FM2008 next !
