    Lee Clark

The Norwich fans I work with seem more impressed with the signing of Clark than the signing of Roeder.

  5. Michael Owen has rubbished fresh speculation linking him with a move away from Newcastle. The England striker's future has been the subject of conjecture almost since he arrived at St James' Park in 2005, and the latest rumours suggest Manchester City are once again tracking him with interest. Owen is puzzled by the regularity of the reports but has told supporters that he remains committed to The Magpies. "There's been speculation since I signed and I don't know where it's come from," he told Sky Sports News. "But actions speak louder than words and I'm still here, I'm still loving my time here. "It seems like not a month goes by without somebody saying I'm leaving. Frustration "It's water off a duck's back to me, I've had worse things thrown at me in my career, but I feel sorry for the fans, it must be so frustrating for them. "I'm looking forward to continuing the season with Newcastle and hopefully we can do well." Owen does not believe he could have done any more to dispel talk from those who doubt his loyalty to Newcastle. He explained: "I've said many times that I'm happy here. Speculation has followed me since I've been here and I can't do anything about that. "I always say the right things and every time I play I try my hardest."
  6. Fingers crossed for Calzaghe, not seen Kessler fight so I'll not make a prediction, its good to see two undefeated champions fighting, just what boxing needs.
  7. Smashing, an "ass to mouth" emoticon.
  8. Newcastle have banned Freddy Shepherd from St James' Park in an astonishing snub to the club's former chairman. Billionaire owner Mike Ashley is embroiled in a business wrangle with the Shepherds and ex-vice chairman Douglas Hall after paying £133million to take control of the club. That has boiled over into the Shepherd family not being welcome at the St James' executive box they own, demonstrated before the win against Tottenham when Freddy's brother Bruce was turned away. It is understood Douglas Hall, who lives as a tax exile in Spain, is also frozen out. The ruthless break with the club's history has left members of the families who oversaw the 52,000 redevelopment of St James' Park, and the club's revival as a Premier League force, denied the opportunity to sit in the stadium they built. Shepherd, who banked £37.65m for his 28 per cent stake, has always insisted he wants to remain a supporter when he bowed out. The Halls held 41.6 per cent of the shares and made £55m from Ashley. Shepherd has spent much of his retirement in Barbados, but his three sons have attended away games to support the team and give backing to Sam Allardyce, the boss they appointed before Ashley's takeover. A United insider said: "Freddy was away but Bruce wanted to use the box as he usually would. "But he was told by a club official that it had been closed off. "It meant Bruce could not get into his VIP seats and he was not very impressed, to say the least. "Freddy was furious when he found out, but there is nothing he can do about it." But Douglas's father Sir John, the man whose vision kick-started Toon's Kevin Keegan era, is still thought to be welcome at the ground.

  10. agreed, it was cliche-tastic, its a shame, he comes across as a thoroughly decent bloke, the trouble is nice-guys finish last in many cases, he might get Narrich out of trouble but other than that I can't see him doing much.
  11. The Roeder out campaign has started already http://www.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1065078/ShowPost.aspx

  15. Norwich City have confirmed the appointment of Glenn Roeder as their new manager. The Carrow Road outfit have been on the lookout for a new boss following the parting of ways with Peter Grant and have now plumped for Roeder. Following successful negotiations Roeder has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal, while caretaker boss Jim Duffy has left the club. Although only out of football since May 2007, Roeder has been linked with various jobs, most noticeably a director of football role at Arsenal. He has now though opted to return to football as a No.1, with the former West Ham boss charged with pulling Norwich away from the relegation zone. Search over "After a lengthy and diligent search I'm more than delighted to confirm that Glenn Roeder is the board's unanimous choice as the next Norwich City manager," said Norwich chairman Roger Munby on the club's official website. "We discussed the current position of the club and team with him at length and I'm thrilled that he has joined us." Norwich are currently languishing at the foot of the Championship table having taken just eight points from 13 games. Roeder's managerial career began at Gillingham, before spells with Watford, West Ham and Newcastle.
  16. Most Narrich fans wanted Paul Jewell or Martin Allen, they'll be gutted, but at least I can take the piss at work tomorrow.
  17. Glad to hear he's getting better, he could do a job with the academy, he would set the perfect example of how to fuck up your talent and career.
